Great location and wonderful room for a family!

Good value for money, very central

Interesting concept as it’s not really a hotel but rather individual accommodation. We had two bedroom apartment, which was very good. Very clean, well equipped. Very good room temperature and no noise! We have reserved a parking spot, which was great and right in front of the entrance. It was nice to have a mini fridge, kettle and coffee machine! Good location as well. There is a playroom in the main building incl. darts, billiard and lots of books and board games, it was much appreciated.

It did not bother us but there was no tv in the room. We have not tried breakfast or any other services so can’t comment on that.

feeling at home in Basel

The apartment is really spacious and has stunning views from the balcony and the window front over the roofs of the city (only in penthouse). The kitchen is very well equipped with water cooker, big stovetop and big oven as well as a good sized fridge! Plenty of plates, bowls and cutlery as well as all kinds of utensils, cups and glasses for two. You can properly cook if you wish to. In the bathroom you'll find a hairdryer with diffuser! A cozy living room area with two armchairs. Throughout the apartment plenty of hangers and cabinets to store your stuff. Very discreet cleaning personnel valuing your privacy! The apartments are located in a quiet residential area just behind the main station.

The online check in didn't work, Europe suffers some frequent glitches in net infrastructure and although I sent our details after they confirmed per email that the check in wasn't working, we had to stand there with luggage in hand typing in details. No proper reception as the hotel shares the same checkin with the hostel and you have to rely on staff working at the bar!

The spacious room & the decor. The location & kitchen were good.

The light above the wash-basin & the head light on the other side of the bed were not working. I didnt report it as I like a dim room.

E-check-in sucked. App failed. Endless ridiculous process of logging all info of all people including mobiles, email - even for kids. SO DUMB. No sign on the door of the address given that reception was not at same address. Breakfast buffet option very poor for the price.

Himmel.

One of the best lodging experiences of my life. Yes, it's a hostel, and I stayed in one of the private rooms with shared bath and toilet. But wow, it was so COMFORTABLE with a superb bed, and those shared showers? The best in any hotel anywhere. Massive showers with incredible water pressure, and the sinks and fixtures are all spectacular, great Swiss quality is in every inch of this place. Location is fantastic, a short walk from the Hauptbahnhof and the city centre beyond it, Basel is a compact city with everything at your fingertips. Use the Basel Card that you receive, for free, and partake of Basel's superb transit- clean and reliable. Wi-Fi is excellent and doesn't even require a password. Oh, I also did my laundry on site, 5 CHF for two hours, very convenient.

Nothing! Basel is unfortunately outrageously expensive but that's not Hyve's fault.

We booked an apartment. It was great for a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys. They had separate beds for the boys, which was great. There was a small fridge, coffee maker and water kettle. Great for a simple breakfast.

Overpriced and Overrated... I would not stay again

Great location and kind staff. Loved the bar downstairs after a long drive to wind down and enjoy a beer with my partner before dinner. It's a welcoming vibe.

Even though we rented a two bedroom apartment, it still had the feelings of staying in a very basic hostel (which is what they are next door). The room felt as if it was decorated with Ikea furniture and not as an apartment-hotel for families. If it would have been cheap, then fine. However, over 200 euros for one night, it does not deserve a guest rating of 8.5 (not from families at least).

- breakfast (way too expensive for what you get) - heat (rooms are super warm, there are fans in each room which helps, airco would be better) - parking at the hotel is a bit expensive

Basically a hotel with a kitchen and good tips

Clean, comfy, quiet, useful information, nice coworking environment. Bathrooms were nice. Even though private room was in basement it had huge nice windows and comfortable temp plus very quiet for sleeping.

Clean and convenient location very close to the train station. Looks to have good communal facilities (although we didn’t have time to use these).

Bit dated and warm in the rooms. Poorly staffed if you need to speak to someone (although very friendly and helpful once you’ve located them).

A great location and friendly staff

The hotel is in an excellent location and provided us with a Baselcard for travel on public transport in the city. The staff were very helpful and the room was clean.

Due to the weather in summer, the room was exceptionally hot when we got there, and there was only one small fan for the three of us, so we did not sleep very comfortably.

Very close to the train station. Good size room with large private bathroom, quality towels and linen. Welcoming and pleasant communal area. Loved the Basel card providing free local transport.

Room was a bit warm. Couldn't work out how to adjust the air-conditioning, and there was no top sheet so duvet was too warm, and I can't sleep uncovered. Would be easier if Basel card or at least information about it could be sent in time to cover transport to Hotel by Hyve rather than only getting it after check-in.

It location close to the station. The room was clean with a modern layout.

The room did not have any of the normal facilities of a hotel room ie no TV or kettle so you could make a cup of tea. As this property is multi purpose with both bunk and hotel rooms there is a kitchen available for guests to use to make a cup of tea, breakfast and other meals. Unfortunately the kitchen was at times very unkempt and lacked some of the basic facilities that you would normally find in a hostel kitchen such as breakfast bowls and spoons.

Futuristic Feel

The location is great, close to the train station. The hotel has a nice futuristic feel. The doors open automatically most of the time. You don't get a key for your room, but a code. The receptionist lady was very kind and helped us with the registration and getting the free Baselcard (free public transportation from 00:01 of the day you check in until 23:59 of the day you check out). The shower and bathrooms were external, but very clean and pleasant. The bed was quite comfy. Downstairs there are plenty of social activities you can do, like board games and foosball.

We couldn't find any coat hangers in the room. It's not possible to buy alcohol at the train station after 22:00.

Great location as close to the train station and an easy walk into the centre. The bed was incredibly hard unfortunately and there was only one pillow. Other than that it was good!

The apartment was very clean and spacious. It was a 10 minute walk from the train station, very easy to access several bus and tram lines. The staff was excellent, very kindly explained the way the apartment access works and what to see/eat in the city.
