Excellent location with spacious rooms and friendly staff.

The location is excellent near the Duomo and Piazza Volta. It is also a 10-15 minute walk to the train station. Elena was very helpful and pleasant. She even accommodated us with our late check in.

Fontana Rooms was the right choice

Fabulous location in Como. Close to restaurants, coffee, shore line and ferries. Room was clean and easy to access. Our host Elana was extremely helpful and very responsive to our needs and questions.

The first night of our stay there was a lot of street noise well into the night but thankfully that didn't continue into the weekend.

The reality doesn't match the pictures

Loaction is really really good. Despite the issues I had with the properties, the manager was very responsive and tried very hard to fix it.

The raiting was way too high for such place. The photos are very much tuned. Don't expext the nice looking design, but the cheapest ikea furniture and accessories. There is no elevator, in case it is important to you. The fridge was bearly working. There were issues with internet and no toitleries when I arrived.

Greta location, with cool vibey room.

Room was small, yet good value. Great location in perfect spot from lake. Cool vibe.

Room advertised with an iron, no facilities. Lots of steps to get to top floor (no lift), skinny staircase. Reception only there for a couple hours a day.

Location

Nobody on reception. The room was a bit scruffy, ie dust around the skirting board area, and not as portrayed in the pictures. Reminded me of a hostel.

Como stay made personable and welcoming.

Located in a convenient area to get to the lake/railway station and shopping if required. The room was perfect - clean and comfortable and easy to access. The owner was very welcoming, friendly. In fact she made sure we were comfortable, happy and gave us her card if we needed her. However, we did not need it we spoke to her a couple of times and reassured her we were happy.

Brilliant location near lake and all restaurants

This was our 2nd stay here Room we had last time was so much bigger and well maintained. This time the room looked a little tired. Could do with a freshing up.

A well-located and clean room near the train station and ferry terminal, with friendly and prompt response from the host

Location is close to main Como San Giovanni train station - approx 12 -15 minutes walk over fairly flat (some sections are cobble stone) ground and across a piazza. Note that there is more direct route but involves a long flight of steps from the train station’s exit to the road leading towards the apartment, so if you have large/heavy luggage it’ll be better to take the sloping driveway curving down to the pedestrian crossing (this will add about 5 minutes to your walk). The apartment is also close to the Como ferry/boat terminal for boats to the other towns of Lake Como like Bellagio, Varenna, etc. The room is clean and fairly spacious - our Double Room had queen size bed, ensuite bath/toilet, small inset table. Good water pressure, AC works well, average space and number of clothes hangers, and has a window that opens to let light in. Small but working elevator. Note that the building is right next door to a popular gelato shop and there’s always a long queue with people milling around and some sitting at the entrance to the building. The host was very responsive and helpful via WhatsApp. She left us a little gift and helped suggest places to visit and eat (side note: book all ferry tickets the day before, or face 3-hour queues)

Better signage at the main gate to indicate it’s the correct building/entrance for the apartment. A signage at the elevator informing which floor the room is on would be helpful too. Having an Information sheet in the room about bus and ferry schedules, where to board, where/how to buy tickets, or even where the tourist office is, etc would have been great. An additional chair would be good as the room is meant for two guests.

Location is very good. 10 minutes from the station and easy to get supermarkets, restaurants and the temple of Volta. In addition, it is a clean and pleasant place with very kind staff.

Expectations were exceeded

The apartment building is really close to the lake, to a lot of restaurants and to train stations (Como Lago and Como San Giovanni - maximum 15 mins walking distance). The host is really nice, she gave us a lot of helpful information. She offered us her contact when we arrived and answered to any of our questions pretty quick.

We stayed in the Mansard Room so not all the room space was usable due to the building roof shape. Also, near one side of the bed you have to be a bit careful to not hit your head on the ceiling. Anyhow, we did not consider it being a big problem.

Excellent location + host

Elena was an amazing host! She was so warm, welcoming and approachable. Elena greeted us with such kindness, personally placing our baggage in our room, opening the room for us and showing us all the amenities. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Equipped with TV, air conditioning and mini fridge. The location was perfect, steps away from the square and Como lake. We cannot fault our stay, thank you so much Elena!!

Comfortable stay!

Great position near restaurants and the ferry terminal. Even so, it was very quiet and not a crazy busy area. Room was comfortable and spacious.

Elena was an excellent host, the rooms were impeccable and perfectly located. Some street noise and noise from other rooms but it didn’t spoil our stay. Comfortable bed and very clean. Close to the lakefront and Duomo and the restaurant area.

Fantastically Central,perfectly clean, amazing service.

It was a little noisy as we stayed in the upgraded room however it was down the side of an alley which was quite noisy early hours of the morning with the bins being collected. That being said it did not affect our stay here.

Bizarre hotel room

Location in downtown Como, cleanliness, comfy bed, hostess was cheery and very welcoming.

Most bizarre hotel room I've ever been in (# 7). Elevator up 1 floor, stairways up 2 floors, we were in an area that seems to be an attic. The landing outside our room had 2 hazards, small steps that were not obvious over which we tripped, and a low level beam across the landing between the stairs and our room. I hit it at least twice. The room itself had another low level beam across and a sloping ceiling down to less than 5'. Bumped into the beam 2-3 times, 1/3 of the room is unusable as it is beyond the beam and under the sloping ceiling. Basically unsafe. Windows, but no view other than roofs of other buildings.

Perfect time at Lake Como.

The hostess is phenomenal. She went out of her way in every regard. She truly cares about her guests and is on call 24/7. It's like a personal concierge. The location is perfect. Right in the middle of everything you come to Como for: the lake,the food.the funicular. Walkable from the train, buses, and taxi stand. Shopping is just around the corner. Clean rooms, reasonable rates. What more can you ask for? Highly recommended from these world travelers!

Prime location, great value!

Location was amazing! Dead center of como and about a block away from the lake side. Ioy a 5 minute walk from the train station (Como Lago). It was clean and comfortable. Good value for the price.
