The location, the view and the room were great. We stayed in lake view room. We really liked it. Only the price difference was bit high to have lake view but we knew it when we booked the hotel.

The location of the hotel is excellent. The beds are comfortable and it is not noisy. The hotel has a really cool old-school vibe that you don't find in many hotels around the world anymore. Definitely worth staying here, it has all the basics.

The shower pressure wasn't great and the AC wasn't working properly. It's clear the hotel is showing its age and could benefit from a renovation. The parking was a bit expensive.

The stay was generally fine, but I was a bit disappointed that there were no slippers or shower gel provided. Also, the bathroom towels had a noticeable vinegar smell.

The staff was extraordinarily helpful trying to make sure that our suitcase was delivered after the airlines misplaced it. Multi Grazie! The location could not be better, right on beautiful Lake Como. The breakfast was terrific!

Great location but disappointing stay

Beautiful exterior, view, and location. Parking available onsite and breakfast included.

Very dated rooms, not as pictured. Bed linens were not fresh (had a smell to them). However staff came up to remake the bed quickly. Room was very hot at night.

Location was great

Dated hotel with worn carpets and stains on walls. Gave me a very cramped room with no space for suitcase. Breakfast was nothing special. Threadbare towels.

A convenient and quick 1 night stay

Close to the lake, we had a room on the second floor and looked out onto the lake which was lovely! Breakfast was included and was ok! Room was clean but the decor did make it feel a bit dingy

Very basic room and not very modern, for the price we paid for 1 night I do think it was a bit steep but I suppose you are paying for the location and not the aesthetic’s of the room! We drove from the UK as our first stop on our road trip so needed somewhere secure for our car, was advised the hotel garage was full so had to use a car park nearby which costs €24, was not aware there would be payment so be mindful of this.

Amazing vintage hotel with great view from balcony of lake como, rooms are clean and have positive vibes, perfect location in the middle of como city near all the restaurants, staff is very welcoming and helpful, hotel have a nice restaurants with outdoor seating with nice view

loaction is good, staff was polite

Wonderful stay at the Hotel Metropole Suisse.

A fantastic location, directly across from the water in the heart of Como. 5 mins walk to ferry terminal. Approx 20 min walk from Como train station. Quick and easy check in. We arrived early and our room was ready. Modern well appointed room. Aircon worked very well. A nice quiet room. Breakfast had good selection of hot and cold.

NOT ACCESIBLE, useless staff.

Big bed, lake view

NOT ACCESIBLE. It says it’s wheelchair accessible in booking but for the entrance of the hotel there are STAIRS, no ramp. And they made me enter through the garage, which is disrespectful. Also, the rooms have a stair to enter to each, which again, NOT accessible for wheelchair users. The staff was not helpful.

A great option for a few days stop fi on route further south into Italy.

The location is the best possible. Walking distance from the shops and restaurants and most importantly the great view of the lake. The breakfast was quite ok and with a perfect lake view. The restaurant at night is a good option as the view of the lake is great and the food quite good. Other options are nearby at walking distance. The reserved parking spot worked well.

Great friendly staff, best location to walk to places, perfectly clean and up to date rooms.

Situated on Pizzaza Cavour, exactly across from where you board boats for different Como destinations. Ten minutes walk to the cathedral and all quality shopping and restaurants. It is a very old property but has been through proper renovations throughout the years. It's just exceptionally close and in the heart of Como.

Breakfast is a poor offering .. But I'm not so accustomed to European breakfast offerings .. so it may have been par for the course.

Great location in an old fashioned hotel

Could not ask for a better location, right on the lakeside, opposite the ferry ticket office which meant getting those early morning fast ferries was a breeze. And yes, I could see the lake from my room. An old fashioned hotel, still with lots of charm. Staff were helpful and check in and out was efficent. Internet worked well.

Disappointing

The rooms were SO old and tired had not changed since we stayed 20 years ago. The one room had no shower curtain, then moved rooms to a tiny room that should probably not even be on the inventory. We were travelling for a birthday and there was no notice of this either.

Loved the staff, loved the restaurant, the rooms need some attention.

The reception staff were so friendly and helpful. The restaurant was fantastic! We had dinner there 4 times during our stay and the food was excellent every time. The Milanese risotto and Osso Buco was the best we had in Italy. The windows were double glazed and shut out all of the road noise which was great.

The room decor was very old. The furniture probably needs replacing or at least repairing/repainting. The bath towels were terrible and the toiletries in the bathroom were poor quality compared to many hotels who offer L’Occitaine or similar shower gels and hair products. The hair dryer was also very old (1970’s wall model)

I really enjoyed our stay here. The location was the best thing.

The best thing about this property was the location. We took the train from bovisa train station to como lago. From there it was an easy 5 minute walk to hotel. Also, the ferry station is across the street from hotel (take the early fast ferry to and from bellagio). There are many restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance from hotel. The hotel upgraded us to a room with the lake and the plaza. Staff was very friendly.

Rooms are very small. We only stayed for one night so it was good, I’d get something bigger if we stayed here longer.
