THE BEST HOTEL EXPERIENCE

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, the staff were incredible and went above and beyond to make my husbands birthday memorable. The kitchen staff were also so amazing at dealing with our food allergies and they did such a good job! The spa was so wonderful and the massage was really top class. I had a male therapist and it was obvious that he was professionally trained. The room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was just as spacious and the shower was like something out of a movie. Oh and the food was out of this world!!! We had a dinner at Olivier petit bistro and it was better than what we have eaten in Michelin star restaurants! The breakfast buffet was also so wonderful because they had so many dairy free options for us including vegan chocolate croissants which were the best thing we ever tasted. We will definitely be back!

I did not like the fact that I had organised surprise balloons and sparkling wine as a surprise for my husband upon arrival and when we got to the hotel for check in, the woman checking us in told me how excited she was to meet me after all the emails we exchanged and that the wine, chocolates and balloons were in the room. She said this in front of my husband which made my heart absolutely sink and it really upset me because I had gone to alot of effort to keep it quiet. I found this was unprofessional and defeated the point of even organising a surprise. After expressing my disappointment the hotel called and apologised profusely and they were really kind and did not charge me for the gift (even though they also got the cookies wrong) and they comped our first two drinks at dinner. It did not undo the ruining of the surprise but the gestures made me really feel like the hotel did their utmost to make it better. This was so appreciated and we will definitely return to the Pillows for our next trip to Gent in October.

Such a beautiful hotel. This was our 2nd stay and would definitely book again. Very clean and comfortable spacious rooms. Great breakfast and friendly staff.

The mattress for us was quite soft but that’s personal preference.

Very nice room, quiet, comfortable. Excellent front desk service when needed. Close to heavily touristed area without being in the midst.

Disappointing stay — hotel has lost its charm

The location is very good, just 400 m from the main historic buildings.

The hotel no longer lives up to its reputation. The breakfast has declined in quality — even the scrambled eggs are industrial. The suite was not properly cleaned despite allergies being mentioned, and the carpets were not vacuumed as requested. The hotel and its facilities are getting old, and the rental bikes are not maintained. Overall, a disappointing experience — unfortunately, I would not recommend it.

Great hotel let down a little by some inattentive staff.

A lovely hotel with a relaxing vibe and offering. Generally attentive staff, nicely appointed room and excellent breakfast. I'll come back next time with my wife. She would love it here too.

Some of the staff were learning the job and need to learn to work the room and look to see if their customers need anything. Having your back to the room is not the way to operate in a customer service role.

A beautiful hotel in the heart of the city. The deputy manager welcomed us with great charm. We had a fantastic room and the staff were extremely helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was very good, with a good selection of food and attentive service. We had a wonderful stay and we would happily return.
