i found the room quite small and there was a lot of noise while other residents were closing their doors

Location was great . Not too far from the centre and close to some great bars and restaurants
The stairs to the third floor were steep and the hand rail wobbled

I found the bed pillows uncomfortable but everything else was absolutely perfect.

Clean, simple, central. Everything you need. I stayed for three days and this was perfect for me.
Hard to find anything wrong but I suppose the stairs are a bit steep if you have heavy bags and you’re elderly?

It could be more clearly stated that this is a pin code establishment with no reception. Was unable to leave luggage before / after check-in.

Eline made us very welcome and attended to all our needs very quickly. The beds were really comfortable and the place was very clean. Great litlte breakfast shops nearby and a fantastic Syrian resturant, lots of pubs as well. Short walking distance to the main attractions would stay here again. Chocolates were given as a gift and we were allowed more time to leave our bags on the day we left.

I liked the check in/check out was very simplified and could be done in your own time, that was really useful for us late arrival. The room was lovely and clean and sparsely decorated but still retained a cosiness, very central as well

The room we stayed in was very modern in its appearance, and it had a lovely big window that let in a lot of natural sunlight during the daytime. The inclusion of free earplugs (presumably because of the Ghent Festival) was a thoughtful and kind addition. The free box of Belgian pralines was very kind. The homemade guidebook provided was very detailed was lovely.
The room was VERY small, and with a really bad layout. The toilet area had no sink, so after use, you had to walk all the way around the bed to get to the shower area with the sink. The toilet area was also NOT noise-proof; every splash in the toilet was audible from outside. The bathroom facilities felt very DIY, and water from the shower pooled, leaving the shower area and entering the main room. There was very little sound isolation between the rooms or the outside street. The lack of a TV, whilst probably noted in the booking page, was a bit of a disappointment. Having the majority of the sockets above the headboard was also slightly awkward.
Whilst we put our Do Not Disturb sign outside the door (as we don't like people in our room during our stays), we returned to find our room had been cleaned regardless (with our electronics cables and chargers moved from the bed onto the headboard). Whilst this was partially excusable, as they'd partially come in to gift us our pralines, we nevertheless felt quite uncomfortable about it.

Cozy guest room, very centrally located in Ghent. The sparsity of the accomodation did not detract from the essential ammenities.
This is a great guest house for a weekend stay. Longer stays will find the room too small. We visited during the Jazz festival, which may have contributed to low value for money return.

The owner, Eline, and the information they provided made my trip. Just fantastic. Fabulous Edgar restaurant next door. Lovely relaxed vibe.

Clean. Good location. Beds comfortable
Beds so heavy/fixed to floor that could not move. They were so close together / close to wall that it was very difficult to navigate round one of them - definitely not advised for a larger person or with mobility issues. The shower room has no door.
There is minimal hanging storage space for clothes or suitcases which in any case could not be unpacked.
The main owner was unwell but it was still totally unacceptable that it took around an hour to sort out a false fire alarm in the night with no clearly understood procedure for sorting this. There was absolutely no apology or reparation following this event.

convenient location - close to both the train station and old town center; in a quiet neighbourhood. love the interior design of the room, feels neat and cozy

Clean, nice smell, crisp sheets
The single beds could not be placed next to each other due to their design (as opposed to shown in the pictures) and that was a bit awkward since I was traveling with my husband.

Very clean and modern. Good location. Met the owners at check out and they very kindly let us keep our bag at their restaurant downstairs for the day.
Hopefully there has been some bigger pillows added, which would make the bedding perfection as the bed itself was super comfortable.

the shower drain was clogged and water leaked all over the bathroom and into the room. had to take breaks during the shower to clean the water and use the towels for the floor

The room was very beautifully decorated: simple and clean. The shower also had great pressure and there was also a hand-held spray, which was nice to have. The fact that there is a separate toilet and shower room meant it was also easy to get ready in the mornings without our schedules clashing too much!
The location was also good: it was about a 10 minute walk from the very central parts of Ghent and 15 minute walk (with suitcases) from the Gent-Dampoort train station. It was down a side street, so not very loud or busy at night, but easy to walk anywhere you needed to go.
There's also a small coffee machine and free water if you need some refreshments in the evening. The cleaner was good, and even folded my pyjamas for me when making the bed!
The check-in process is so easy. You get sent a code that opens the front door and the room door, so you can go in and out as you please while feeling secure, but can text the hosts at any point if you have any problems. The hosts were incredibly helpful and let us leave our suitcases at their restaurant after we checked out so we didn't have to carry them around the city centre!
Unfortunately, we both found the pillows quite uncomfortable, which did make it harder to sleep. Also, people who book the twin room should be aware that it's on the ground floor, so you can hear whenever any of the other guests come in or out, or walk up and down the stairs. You can also hear the noise from the street, but since the street is fairly quiet, this wasn't too much of a problem. I imagine the noise would be absolutely fine if you're staying in a room on one of the higher floors!

Beautifully renovated room in townhouse in old part of town. Easy access to parks, canals, sights and loads of places to eat. The owners were extremely friendly - I was cycle touring in 30+ degree heat and they gave me a bottle of water from the restaurant fridge when I arrived, which was much appreciated! Also let me store my bike in their garage.

Location was perfect with local bars and a short walk to the centre.
Slightly expensive, but found that Ghent accommodation overall was expensive anyway.
