A beautiful, tastefully presented and luxurious place to stay.

We loved the style of the building and the way it has been renovated. We were given a great welcome by Kristof who gave us useful advice about things to do in wonderful Ghent. Breakfast was tasty and we were well entertained by Kristof. Location brilliant, everything in easy reach of the accommodation. Our first time in Ghent and it won't be our last.

Lovely old / historic town house. Nice characterful sitting room for guests with generous drinks ( tea coffee etc) with sofas etc V v comfortable beds , good shower , friendly staff.

I would have liked a bedside table & light each side. There was a shelf behind the pillows.

OK but wouldn’t stay there again.

The room was nice and comfortable. They were very helpful storing our luggage whilst we went sightseeing.

There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. We had an early start in the morning, but were told breakfast wasn’t served until 9am and the staff made no effort to provide breakfast for us (how hard would it have been to leave some croissants or rolls in our room?). Overall this wasn’t good value for money nor good customer service.

Character and charm in a beautiful converted private residence in the heart of Ghent.

Such a special property! Ganda has charm in spades, with incredibly tall ceilings, beautiful details, lovely courtyard and an honesty bar so you can enjoy a drink in the lounge or rooftop terrace. Absolutely loved my stay in Ghent.

Horrible Stay, Way Way Overpriced.

The room was big. The ladies who run the place are very nice - although we only saw them a few minutes at the start of the stay.

Despite this being the most expensive hotel on our long trip, it was probably the worst stay. It's way way overpriced. At 6 am you will be awakened to people walking with loud shoes on a wooden floor, or someone playing a tv loud. It was really cold one night and we could not find any heater or thermostat, and there is no one there regularly - not just not there at night, they have no office or counter. This is just a house that they are running as a hotel. No WIFI in the room, so I had to sit on the steps outside. Nothing was particularly upscale or luxurious - other than putting the towels in a basket rather than on normal racks. The bed was not that comfortable. We had mosquitos biting us all night. There is not even a lobby. The location is horrible too - its a 15 minute long walk to a smaller non-central train station, so every day trip involved a long walk, then a train to the main station, then on ... and one night the trains were so late, that they just bypassed this stop entirely and went to the main station. The walk to the hotel at night felt a bit scary. Nor is this location good for the city - it's really confusing streets, no city map, and that particular area has a few local low end restaurants only. Once you learn your way around, it's only 12 minutes to the city center, but this 24 minutes every time you want get a sweater or umbrella. We were super unhappy with this place, and felt it was a huge mistake to go there. One taller lady checked us in, and showed us the code to get into the room, and she got annoyed at me the first time I tried the code for not touching it gentle enough - actually from using that code button many times, many of the keys don't respond to a single press, and you might have to press several times to get a single key to work - and I did not appreciate the irritable attitude.

Friendly host, cosy salon full of interesting books, great location close (but not too close) to the busy downtown of Ghent. very interesting old building that nevertheless felt comfortable and modernised.

Quite delightful “old-fashioned charm” in a truly beautiful and historic townhouse. (The decor is exceptional.) Such delightful hosts who genuinely “aim to please.” The whole experience culminated in a FABULOUS breakfast- All delivered also in the most wonderful setting. If only I could have stayed longer….

Ganda is stunning building, beautifully restored, full of elegance. The hosts are warm and attentive, and provided tasty snacks and hot and cold beverages in the sitting room. The breakfast room is inviting with a tasty array of food. I was sad to leave and will always have fond memories of my stay. Location was excellent.

Cosy B&B to explore the city

This is Ghent! The look and feel of this B&B truly represents the atmosphere of beautiful Ghent. Rooms are spacious, cosy and stylish. This townhouse has a great location to explore the city. The owners are welcoming, super friendly, and helpful. The room was super clean and the toiletries from Fragonard are really nice. Can't wait to be back!

Good base for a visit

Enjoyed chatting with our hosts and other guests over the excellent breakfast. Plenty of information about places to visit available. Comfortable guest sitting room, self service tea and coffee always available. Quiet area, but near public transport. Ghent was a lovely place to spend a few days, and Ganda a good base.

Mosquito nightmare

.They location was good. The rooms were nice.

They did not seal the windows around the AC tubing allowing bugs to come in your room. Windows were not closed properly. We had heard other guest complaints of bug bites our first day. There is a terrible mosquito problem that they did not address until our last night. Unfortunately by then I had bites on my face and arms. One bite causing swelling 4cm wide. I assume they are mosquito bites as they occurred at night. Arthur who is Kristoffs son was left in charge and also did not arrange the daily cleaning of our room. Trash was allowed to pile up even after we asked for clean and we received no clean towels. Kristoff seemed more upset we me complaining than his sons lack of competency in his absence. I very nice hotel that should treat their guest better.

The perfect stay!

So happy I found this little hidden gem to spend my night in Ghent. I booked it very last minute, but Annik and Kristof were super friendly and even let me check in early. I really recommend having breakfast here as well, with home made yoghurt and freshly pressed orange juice. The service was amazing, and so much better than staying in a regular hotel. I really had such a lux experience, and Annik and Kristof went above and beyond with making me feel welcome. I still think about it, two weeks after. Thank you, and see you again!

I would highly recommend staying at the Ganda Rooms. A hidden gem in a great central location. The rooms are cosy and beautifully decorated. We didn't book breakfast but Kristoff kindly cooked us a delicious scrambled egg. Which we very much appreciated. We will definitely stay here again.

We had the most incredible stay. The owners were so welcoming, room was extremely comfortable, the breakfast was incredible with most things homemade by the family, and great location! Faultless, and one of the best places we have ever stayed.
