Cannot say enough nice things about this property. From the location, to the beautiful design and attention to detail, to the lovely rooms and excellent breakfast, everything was truly exceptional. Most of all, however, I want to acknowledge the absolutely lovely service at The Post. Everyone there was welcoming, helpful, and professional. One of our party unfortunately had some medical needs from an accident off-property, and we were treated with such kindness and care from everyone on-site. We can’t wait to return to The Post in the future.
Everything was excellent.

Excellent location, Maybe the best for tourists in town. The room was so beautiful and romantic and the view from the window also. If i travel in Ghent again it will be my only choice.
It was a little difficult to have the bathroom in the upper floor and the toilet down.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff was incredibly attentive, helpful and kind. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms were incredible. Every little touch was not only thoughtful, but impressive.

The building is gorgeous. The attention to detail throughout the room was great. Shower size was great. Staff was friendly. Great location. ** I am adding to my original review - I want to say I have never stayed at a hotel where there we so many details - from the scratch card to turn in at checkout - which gift turned out to be a power bank to the ornament to take home . Whoever is in their team working on this deserves an applause. **
That the bathroom was upstairs in my room type and that the toilet in the main level didn’t have a sink.

We stayed in the one-of-a-kind turret room which was like Rapunzel’s castle bedroom. There are 360 degree views, it is a hexagonal room with high ceilings and medieval windows, bathroom with his and her shower jewelry, and a curving stone staircase winding to the top like a snail shell. Spotless but vintage. Gorgeous room! Breakfast was very special. Lots of thoughtful amenities too.
I cannot think of any negatives unless one is unable to climb stairs.

Staff was friendly and professional. Enjoyed the bar - the gentlemen there were engaging and knowledgeable. Victor gets a specific shout-out for his classy friendliness and interest in his guests.
The light switches at the bed confounded us for days. They need to be marked to ensure the guesswork.
We may have known that the sink and shower were upstairs when we booked but didn’t remember that. It was a hassle. Wish we had the option for all one level. But again, maybe that was communicated and I didn’t remember it.

We stayed in the tower room. It's actually the whole reason we came to Ghent. If you ever wanted to feel like you were at Hogwarts, this is the room. It's truly one of the best hotel experiences you'll have in your life. Plus the view from the room is wonderful as well. Finally, the bathroom is fantastic with an immense 2 person shower.
I wish I had known that there are 27 steps between the bathroom level and the bedroom level.

It is one of the. most exciting hotels we've ever stayed in. We loved the history of the building, the decor was divine, the staff were superb and so friendly/helpful. We loved the the little nooks and secret staircases. The touches in the room were much appreciated too. Great shower too. Breakfast was plentiful and extensive. Delicious! My only very slight negative was that the bed was a little hard BUT I asked reception for a mattress topper and one was fitted within the hour. So I couldn't have asked for a better service! Such a treat, we will be returning very soon!
Loved it all. Nothing negative

Great location, beautiful building
No onsite parking but it’s just 3 minutes walk but far enough to get soaking wet on the 2 days it rained.

Location: If you want to experience staying in a historical, magnificent place right in the heart of Gent, this is the right hotel.
Room: We stayed in a dublex standart king room. The decor and ambiance are magnificent. The bathroom and sink are also beautiful in the upstairs. It's also a pleasure to see Guerlain products in the bathroom.
Breakfast: The bar/restaurant area has such a unique and historical wibe. The variety and quality of products were perfect.
The Honesty Bar: One of my fav spot at the hotel.
Staff: Extremely polite and warm.
Parking: If you travel with your car, parking area is just 350 m away and 30€ per night. Entrance is done by a code.
Unfortunately, the bed area was narrow. There is no view and balcony in the room. The toilet on the ground floor has no sink and I think it is not good for hygiene. The hygiene gel in the restroom isn't a solution either. It's not wise to go upstairs to the bathroom to wash your hands.

Great location; nice staff; interesting architecture.
Room 30 was cramped whereas our other room 33 was fine.
On the last night we got back and Cobbler bar wasn’t open to guests due to a private party. It was past 11pm so we couldn’t get room service - room service should have been extended in this instance; it is also out of order that the bar wasn’t available and there was no prior notice.

Very interesting architecture and style. Good location and nice staff.
Our room 30 was a bit cramped but room 33 was fine. On the Saturday night we got back at about 10:45pm hoping to get a tea, coffee and drink in the Cobbler bar only to be told there was a private function on. So we asked for a green tea and coffee to take to our room, only to be told it wasn’t possible because of the private event. For an expensive too hotel, that is unacceptable not to be able to use the facilities and/or get teas and coffees then.
We would like some form of compensation for this, such as a refund of the calvados as a gesture of good will.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful and perfectly located right in the center of Ghent. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive — they replied quickly to my emails and made sure everything went smoothly before and during our stay.
Parking was conveniently close to the hotel, easy to access by car, and felt completely safe. The room itself was spotless and beautifully designed. I had requested a few extra items in advance, and they were all ready when we arrived — such attentive service! You can really rely on this hotel, especially for special occasions.
Another great detail: I could drop off my luggage in the morning and enjoy a relaxed day in the city without any worries. It may sound simple, but it made a big difference in how welcome and well cared for we felt.
Yes, it’s not the cheapest option — but you truly get what you pay for. The staff are clearly well-trained, professional, and always smiling. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare these days.
I fully trusted this hotel and can’t recommend it highly enough. A perfect stay from start to finish
Nothing negative to say.

Amazing old Post Office building with great design aesthetic and theme. We loved our loft room. Having a wonderful bar with great decor and a gym was a bonus.
A little noisy with cars/trams/buses.

The reception staff were wonderful. Really took a lot of time to help us.
The bar staff forgot our order, when we had told them when we ordered that we had dinner reservations and were in a hurry. Their error delayed us, and we lost our table at the restaurant we booked.. But that was the only issue.

I loved the thoughtful design of the hotel and all the historical details. I loved the rooms especially the bathroom. The designer/owner has impeccable taste.
We were there during the music festival which turns Gent into an incredibly noisy garbage can. That one the hotel’s fault but we barely slept as a result.

Didn't try breakfast as quite expensive at €35pp and surprised no restaurant.

Fabulous quirky restoration of gothic splendour.
Staff did not follow up on expected/promised service. Eg letting us know when room was ready, lack of smiles in interactions, all young, no sense/sight of senior oversight.

Location was exceptional. Bed was incredibly comfortable.
There were 14 sreep steps up to the bathroom! Even though the toilet was on the first level, you had to climb the rather treacherous stairs to wash your hands. Also, there was no wY to get your luggage into the hotel other than to lift it up 8 steps to the elevator! Room was very dark, lights had to be on all the time. Room wasn't serviced until 4pm.

The location of the hotel was absolutely fantastic—convenient and close to everything we needed. However, it was a bit noisy at times, so the complimentary earplugs were a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. The hotel itself is stunning, beautifully designed with elegant decor, and it smelled incredible throughout, creating a truly luxurious and welcoming atmosphere. The bar was lovely though we were constantly shown to tables near other people when the rest of the room was empty. Top tip; sit people away from others when possible!!
Guests could get much more enjoyment out of the outdoor bar area with a few thoughtful improvements. Adding covered sections would provide shelter from the sun or rain, making the space more usable and comfortable throughout the day. Additionally, creating a designated area exclusively for hotel guests—perhaps accessible with a room key or ticket system—and offering dedicated waiter service could enhance the overall experience, ensuring guests feel attended to and valued.

The Post is absolutely gorgeous and within walking distance of all of the historical sightseeing locations within Ghent. Our room was at the front of the hotel with incredible views of the cathedral.
