Wonderful hotel in Ghent

Room big and lovely- bed very comfortable. The hotel is perfectly situated and is beautifully designed. We will definitely return to this hotel it is definitely our favourite hotel.

All was fine, just needed to wait quite a bit while checking in. And city view room was not a city view.

A comfortable hotel in a super location with exceptional customer service from the charming staff.

Well appointed room and functional bathroom. Staff and customer service were outstanding, both eager to help and knowledgeable.

Approaching the hotel in a car, and using the recommended GPS address, it seemed impossible to avoid pedestrian zones and so I guess we will receive a fine. Hotel car park was expensive, and the bays are very narrow.

Great location. The room was spacious and the river view was breathtaking. Staff members were super lovely, they gave us a heartfelt welcome and took time to make our trip even more special. Ghent is beautiful and I’d love to come back again and stay at Marriott.

Nice stay in the Historical Centre

Excelent location in the historic heart of Ghent City. We really enjoy the experience to stay in the center. The building is very nice, the breakfast good and we where able to park our car. Very nice.

I paid the total price of two rooms in advance on booking.com app but I have been charged by hotel again. Hotel tried to explain it as a deposit , when I insisted on the issue and showed the proof of advance payment, they said they will cancel the transaction and refund. I am still waiting the refund.

Brilliant location, great staff and spacious rooms

Rooms were spacious, clean and with modern amenities. Staff at reception were super friendly and helpful no matter what time of the day or night. The location is a 10/10! Everything within walking distance!

Had to ask for tea bag’s each morning as room staff did not refill. Reception staff were great though and went beyond what was needed to ensure I had everything I needed

Perfect canalside location for exploring fairytale Ghent from this stunning and comfortable hotel.

Unbelievably amazing location alongside the canal, the canal side rooms are incredible. The staff here were charming and so helpful, finding a shower stall for my mother a wheelchair user. One of the few hotels in Ghent that is suitable for wheelchair users which is why we booked, but I would come here again in a heartbeat with my children. Stunning atrium. Ghent is a fairytale town to visit.

Best property I have ever stayed in.

Our rooms were canal facing and gave us stunning views all day and night. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was great as was the bar. Special mention for the staff and Pascal in particular, whom kids and adults alike will find adorable.

Terrible construction noise

The property has a fantastic location in the most beautiful area of Ghent. The rooms are modern and very clean. What ruined our trip was the noise we encountered from the construction work. We were in two rooms spread apart but on the same floor of the hotel. In both rooms we could hear construction work going on above us. In one room the noise was unbearable and constant. We complained but we were just told the work would stop at 5pm (which it did) and it would not start until 11am the next day (it actually started at 8.40am). Luckily we were out most of the next day but when we returned in the afternoon the unbearable ongoing noise in one of the rooms continued. The staff were pleasant but could only offer one spare room of a certain type, so some of us moved into the 'less noisy' room whilst one of us got moved to a new room. So basically we all had to pack and unpack again. The noise remained annoying in the one room but could be tolerated. We weren't offered any further assistance, followed up on, or anything else. It's a four star modern hotel and I would expect construction work would be warned for, apologised for and for appropriate action taken. It ruined what was otherwise a nicely presented hotel.

Very much Disappointing!

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at the Ghent Marriott Hotel from February 20 to February 23. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected, and I feel compelled to bring these issues to your attention. Upon check-in, I was assigned a room where renovation work was taking place right in front of my window. The construction noise, including drilling, started as early as 6 AM, making it impossible to get proper rest. After raising this issue with the hotel reception, they relocated me to another room for the second night. However, my troubles did not end there. On my second night, while taking a shower, the shower hose pipe broke, leaving me struggling to finish my shower with a faulty fixture. This added to my discomfort, and I once again reported the issue to the reception. As a frequent business traveler, Marriott and Sheraton have always been my preferred hotel chains due to their premium services. However, this experience was extremely disappointing, and I feel that the quality of service at this property is deteriorating.

Good location, but ultimately overpriced.

Comfy bed and great location in the city centre

The hotel was very expensive for what it was. The bathroom in particular was dated and in poor condition. Communal areas were also looking a little worn and the lift system was stupid, often causing long waits to get down (with no stairs option). I expected much more for the premium price we paid.

Excellent location! Marriott at its best

Excellent location. Ghent, for us, has only two big city blocks that are truly beautiful. This hotel sits right in one of them. It's all you'd expect from Marriott: roomy, clean, comfortable... Nothing that we didn't like, during our stay.
