Second time in this hotel. Well located spacious rooms great breakfast.
Small hairdryer not working.

The location was very good. The room was comfortable and staff were helpful. Parking in centre of Ghent was a bonus.
We found the public rooms to be small but we're not unduly affected.

The location is fantastic and the bed was amazing. The room looked very nice with a good view of the canal.
The afternoon staff person was not very friendly. The lady in the morning was very nice.
We didn’t have shampoo or body wash in our rooms.

The room was completely spacious and had an amazing view of the intersection where everyone was walking outside. Plus, you could see the castle of the counts and everything. The staff was understanding and very knowledgeable about the area. Would recommend again and again.
I wish the shower were a little bit bigger so I didn't feel so confined in it.

Location was great
Room was located in an annexe building - it looked very different from pictures on website. Felt more like a motel. Room was dark and way too warm ( in December!) with horrible strip lighting. No cleaning on our first day and had to remind to clean on second day that our room needed cleaning ( shower gel canister was empty) Cleaning not great.
No fire safety regulations in the room which seemed odd - I thought hotels had to have these.

Location was excellent. Reception was not knowledgeable about anything, not particularly friendly, weather was v cold and so was bathroom floor which was v cold so didn’t have a hot shower which I wanted to have. The single bed next to the wall was more appropriate for a child rather than an adult so I didn’t get much sleep
The hotel needs a decent person at reception who can answer even basic questions and perhaps be a little bit friendly. He was completely disinterested in his work

I've stayed here once before. This time I had a room on the floor above reception in the main building, The previous stay was in the building through the courtyard at the back. The location is great, by the castle and the heart of Ghent canals/main square short walk away.
The staff were not friendly. I booked the room because it had a 'city view' but the view from my room was a fire escape overlooking the courtyard. The coffee mugs had stains in them upon arrival. Some of the towels had stains on them upon arrival. Hotel Gravensteen standards have rapidly declined sadly.

A beautiful hotel across the street from the castle. The heart of the city was at the front door.
The internet is wasn’t working during our stay very well, but they were having it fixed.

Everything was great. The room was very clean, the staff were very polite and helpful, and the breakfast was good enough. We asked for a room with a view, and we got the greatest view possible.

Lovely old comfortable building in a most convenient location.
7.0 / 10.0
Good location to the centre.
Parking expensive at hotel. Our room was very small. We booked a large bed but the hotel said only twin booked. They found us a double room but it was very cramped/tiny room. Expensive as no breakfast included yet paid 161 euros for 1 night.

Location
Poor quality room. Air conditioning didn’t work. Hairdryer didn’t work. No effort to eliminate mosquitoes in the room.

The location is very central near the castle so great for accessing the city.
The staff were very welcoming and we reserved a parking space which worked well as we have a zero emissions vehicle and it is a restricted zone.

The location was excellent, in the heart of the old city. The room was very comfortable and clean, just the right size.

Clean, comfortable, coffee available in room, receptionist was very helpful and friendly!
Getting to the parking place was a nightmare and my car was almost toed while trying to figure out where it is / where to park…but the receptionist was amazing and guided me through when I called so that is saying something!
Still…on bookings I didn’t saw mention of an additional £25 just to pay the parking spot..it only said parking available…

This hotel is very convenient for the centre of Ghent. It is clean with acceptable facilities for a hotel of this grade. The decor was good, bed was comfortable and it had lift access to all floors. We stayed one night on our way back to the UK but will stay again when we go back to Ghent. For Belgium it is expensive but provides good value considering its location to the city centre. Public underground car parking is €12 and 5 minutes walk away. There is also EV facilities there too.
Nothing much

The location is perfect and the room is comfortable to stay. They installed double window so it is also quiet. We can see the castle directly from both of the windows.
Nothing, everything is good and worth for the money.

Very close to everything you might want to do in the city.
I could hear city noise with the windows open at night but that’s to be expected in the city.

Great location, 5 minute walk to every tourist and shopping spot. Room was very comfortable . Breakfast choices were simple, but tasty.

This hotel has a very central location
Hotel was a little expensive
9.0 / 10.0
The hotel is in a great location but if you are arriving by car you will need to register with the city’s low emission zone website as it is in a pedestrian area in the old town.
Our room was huge and clean with great bed linen and towels.
Breakfast was amazing with a wide range of hot and cold items.
Good WiFi too.
The bed was a little soft but that’s my personal preference

Excellent location at the heart of Ghent few steps away from the castle. Extra comfort bed and pillows. There are some renovation works going on and when we complained we were upgraded to the suite room in a tower! Very friendly staff!
There were some works improving the facade but it is a temporary inconvenience, I guess.

Location is absolutely perfect! Close to everything, the Leie, all interesting sites, tram stop. Room was small but fine especially since we weren’t there much. It was clean enough and we didn’t hear other guests even though we had ‘neighbours’. We stayed at the front which meant a good view at Gravensteen!, but we heard some noise every morning rather early: collection of glass by municipality, delivery trucks etc. It wasn’t too bad but if you want to sleep in late make sure to get a room at the back or use earplugs (which are provided for by the hotel by the way). Good shower.

The staff were lovely, very helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Location was brilliant.
There was a great big beam going across the room diagonally, which we kept hitting our heads on. It went from the floor in one corner to the centre of the ceiling. Very random. The room was very small, and the toilet room was miniscule - we could hardly shut the door as there wasn't room. It was also very close to the bed, which I didn't like.

We got an upgrade to a larger room which was so spacious and an amazing view of Gravensteen outside our window! It was a great value!

Great location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Attention to detail and cute decor.
The hotel does have the elevator, but you still have to climb the steep flights of stairs to get to your room.

Great location.
The bathroom had a sewer smell I could not get rid of, but was able to keep the door closed.

The location is perfect! Near everything. The breakfast is a feast! Wonderful staff!
The room we had was quite old but it was not a big issue. Sometimes it seemed like sewer smell came out from the bathroom but not a big issue. Maybe the hotel can look into this.

The location of the hotel is great: the castle is a few steps away, as well as the main attractions. The room was tiny, but it had everything we needed (also a mini-fridge and the hairdryer).
