Perfect for a weekend away

Good bed, easy access in and out, very good isolation barely heared anything.

the room was a bit on the small size. We were genuinely struggling with figuring out the heating system.

For the price it is great value for money. Really enjoyed our stay.

It’s an old quirky historical building right in the heart of Ghent. Spacious and had everything we needed in the room, complete with bar downstairs. Great value.

Mosquitoes are an issue in Belgium where you have extensive canals. Windows must be kept closed for most of the year to avoid this. Most older buildings don’t have netting on the windows.

It was very central so excellent location but still quiet and the bed was comfortable. The wine bar was very nice.

Room and bathroom was adequate for 2 nights but a bit small for longer maybe.

Conveniently close to old town Gent. Comfy bed , take bus or cab from train.

The property was very close to grabbing state and Castle. The bed was quite comfortable. Owner was helpful and gracious.

Thoroughly enjoyable in a comfortable place with easy access to all the sights of the city.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Location excellent and the staff friendly and helpful.

Only one thing really. There was a "sewer" smell in the shower area on the final morning. Not a major problem and maybe a one-off issue.

Perfect place for a Ghent trip

It was a great location to visit Ghent, right next to the castle. The room is very small but cosy so it’s perfect for 1/2 days stay. The owner was very welcoming and polite and the room had everything we could want.

Gorgeous Gent Getaway

Centrally located and friendly owners Just above a wine bar. Very comfortable and clean. Good to have a fridge, kettle, coffee maker and excellent shower!!

very nice place

Very nice place. Very close to tourist attractions (the castle is next to it). The apartment maybe is not the biggest, but it is cosy and has everything needed (including tea and coffee facilities). Water is also provided (and chocolates- that was a nice bonus:). The owners are very friendly. There is not problem to leave the luggage before you check in and after check out. Although there is a bar downstairs, we did not hear it at all.

Gorgeous rooms

Really lovely place above a cosy wine bar. The rooms and beds were very comfy and spacious. Fabulous bathroom. The location is great, just by the castle and the canals. We got a lovely welcome by the staff who were accommodating our needs kindly. Would really recommend it.

Great location in a beautiful city

Great location, right in the centre of the historic part of the city. Short tram ride from the train station. The room is above a nice wine bar which closes at 12, we were there for 2 nights and there was no issue with noise etc. Beautiful city, perfect location, loved the nighttime walks around the old buildings, churches etc, some really great bars and cafes.

Great property in a great location, but potentially noisy.

The location is excellent, just by the castle in the historic centre, and the accommodation is really spacious and good looking both from outside and in. If you like historic properties the principle bedroom with its row of mullioned windows and open ancient beams is very pleasing. We had a huge double bed, and there were twin beds in an attic room above, all in one apartment. The bathroom is almost as big as the bedroom.

When we arrived the place was being made-over and though the apartment was fine, the rest of the property (which we had to get through) was a building site with no facilities. Had there been facilities there would have been a bar and a sitting room; so, I think visitors after us should find things improved. There is little noise insulation; so, one hears the sounds of the street below. Unfortunately for us, a mechanical cleaning wagon started up at 7am and was still going at 9! While this was chance, I suspect noise might be an issue anyway.

Great space for a group of friends.

Large space,good facilities, ground floor is a lovely brunch spot. Owners /Staff were really nice . Great location. They had bathrobes, two toilets, large bathroom fancy shower gel, chocolates on the bed. A lounge room with a TV n couches. In the heart of Gent. It was truly lovely.

Stairs ...no elevator if you have lots of luggage .but it's manageable. Watch out the top floor has wooden floors so you'll hear. Only one key is given for the whole booking. We were four.

Cozy stay in a beautiful historic building

Location is so central. Carpark Ramen is a couple minutes walk away. Staff was also friendly and helpful! The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the bathroom very big. The stairs are steep BUT common for beautiful old buildings like these. If you are a light sleeper, the tram + people talking loudly at night might be an issue. They provide ear plugs for that though. Have a nice drink at the bar downstairs to wind down. Staying here would be a unique and memorable experience.

Lovely Hotel, Great Location and Nice greeting but they have zero flexibility for early check ins

The guy who welcomed me at the property was super friendly and helpful

As I was only there for one day to see a football game, they wouldn’t let me check in at any stage before 4pm even though I pleaded as the game was at 5pm. Also wouldn’t let me leave my bags anywhere so I walked around Ghent for the whole day with my bags. I sent two requests for an early check in and only got a response the morning of.

black out curtains were nice since it stays light past 11pm, bed very comfortable. some nice amenities in the room. the wine bar on the street level looked nice but I didn't partake, it was near a lot of other bars and restaurants.

the patio door didn't seem to operate correctly. I got it opened once and there was no safety issue.

The room was small but clean and comfortable. Moreover, it is very close to the center, especially to the Gravensteen. In the room there is also a Nespresso machine with coffee and milk. Very kind

Exceptional

A perfect place to stay. The location is very central, right at the heart of the historic city center. Staff was helpful, friendly, kind. The place itself was a gem, in a beautiful historical house, with two very large bedrooms, large bathroom downstairs and a little one upstairs. The breakfast was the kind queens and kings would receive. The common room was also a plus. Just amazing. We will recommend it!

A nice and comfortable place to stay at the heart of the town.

Location is probably the number one feature for this property. You can't get any closer to the historic centre of the town. The room is ok, not very big but not tiny. It has a nice porch with two chairs with indifferent view but you are outside. Many reviewers mention about the bar below the rooms but this was never a nuisance since it closes early. I never felt I was disturbed by noise even though at the time of our stay there were public works taking place in front of the property. There is also a nice lounge with large comfortable couches and a TV, with windows facing the front street, which i found out the last day that we were leaving :)

Given the services provided by the property, the price could have been a little lower.

Beautiful but noisy

Very charming old house. Large rooms with comfortables beds, well equipped with coffee machine and breakfast table. Beautiful large bathroom.

The stairs are steep, highly difficult for little children or older people. Extremely noisy: you hear everything, every, whisper, every step, every tram... And on a Wednesday morning, the garbage truck at the crack of dawn.

A true gem of property!

The 2-bed room apartment is full of charm and character. There are narrow staircases to navigate but that is characteristic of historic building. The apartment is tastefully designed, clean, spacious, comfortable, simple and functional. Our family of three just love it so much. We will definitely come back. The host was friendly and helpful and the location is super convenient. We love Ghent and are so happy that we stayed here.

There are street noises but it did not bother us at all. We were given ear plugs but we did not need them. We had great night sleep here. However, light sleepers be warned.
