Funky studio behind vintage furniture store in great area.Breakfast included.
Funky studio located at the back of a gorgeous vintage furniture store on a beautiful street in walking distance to centre and sights. Breakfast delivered to the room. Great vintage crockery, flask, even an egg cosy! Really quiet. Adorable.
Maybe some more fruit for breakfast.

Quirky but super comfortable experience. Will return.
Awesome breakfast. Friendly staff. Large room with plenty of room to stretch out and featured a separate dining table for that breakfast.

More hostel than high end
The B&B couldn't be more central and is right opposite the castle. The breakfast had a very good selection and the roll top bath was a bonus. The private courtyard outside our room was spacious and pretty with a table and chairs to sit out, although the weather wasn't warm enough to enjoy it. The room also had some nice mid century furnishings.
The access to our room was not ideal, especially with 2 bikes. You have to enter via their furniture shop and navigate a few steps and a dark hallway. As our room was slightly subterranean, it smelt very damp, which was visible on some of the furnishings....pendant lamp, curtains and wall. The bathroom had no window and the electric extractor was broken, so was difficult to ventilate without having the door wide open. Our toilet (which was separate) kept blocking, so there also seemed to be a drainage problem. The bed was comfortable and king-sized, but had a very thin double duvet, which was way too small for the bed along with two small lumpy pillows, the bed linen also look a bit tired. The fridge in the corner of the room, which didn't look particularly attractive, was very noisy, so had to be unplugged. There was also noise from the floor above, which sounded like a child running around and was awoken at 5.30am one morning. Hedwige was pleasant enough, but not particularly engaging. We also found it a bit strange that she had access to our room (via another door), when bringing the breakfast in and even entered without knocking when she came to collect our payment. This made us feel quite uncomfortable and not very private. Overall, we were quite disappointed with our stay and felt the high rate they charged, wasn't reflected in the quality of the accommodation and was more of a hostal vibe than a high end B&B. Therefore despite it's location, wouldn't stay here again.

Best location, and such a fun characterful place to stay.
It had a lot of character, the entrance through a vintage furniture store, and the room furnishings were in the style of the vintage modern furniture from the store. Clean, Simple & just good.

The closest to Grevensteen you could get - with the bonus of a filling breakfast to set you up for the day.
The property is a close to Gravensteen as you could get. In fact you could only get closer if you had booked with the ghost of a past Count. The property is at the back of a furniture shop and you can get down at a tram stop that is diagonally opposite. See details below.it is a nice retreat to get to after a day of being out and about. The host prepares a massive breakfast to keep you fuelled up for the morning and beyond! Enjoy.
Nothing to dislike. Alas because it had been raining we did not get to sit outside. Now a note about the tram situation - which has nothing to do with the property. All maps (except for one that comes from the tourist info office nearby - and you have to ask specifically for it) do not show current tram line numbers, destinations and colours correctly - so be prepared for some confusion. Even some of the maps at the tram stops are not right as there are constant road works and tram works which change final destinations. Old maps, such as the regular tourist maps, show sections of tram lines that no longer exist.. There are two trams that will get you very close to the property. Tram 4 (Red) starts at Ghent St Pieter’s train station and terminates at Lange Streenstraat so it is not possible to get off at the wrong stop. The final stop at Lange Steenstraat is behind Gravensteen and you have to walk to the property over cobble stones (4 minutes, 420 m) - you get to walk besides and in front of Gravensteen. This is a good choice because you will see where the entry gate is - unless you have luggage that will be difficult to move/carry over the cobblestones - but it is not too far. However with the same tram ticket, you can get off Tram no 2 at Rabat stop and change to Tram no 4 (Green) in the direction of Mille Leeuw (not Evergem). If you are not sure, just confirm the tram goes to Gravensteen, then get out at the third stop - which is Gravensteen. This stop is right in front of the castle. Turn back in the direction you have come from and walk around 100 m, then cross the road to the property. There are other ways that people like to tell you to go by transferring in the centre of the old city, but the two ways above are simpler.

Lovely small B&B right in the Heart of Ghent.
My recent stay at Baeten's B&B was very good. The room was as described. It was clean, very quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Every morning Hedwige provided a lovely breakfast served in the room. She was also very helpful answering some questions we had. I left behind my eye glasses, so I contacted Hedwige and she is sending them to me. She is a lifesaver! The location of the B&B in the Historic center couldn't be beat! The castle is just a minute down the street.
I would definitely stay here again. The only thing I wish was provided was some toiletries. In the bathroom there was hand soap at the sink, but no shampoo or body soap.
