Spent one night recently travelling through Europe. Hotel ticked many of the standard boxes but offered a little different to the corporate styled hotels. The location was 300 yards from the corn mill area, yet tucked in a secluded street. The building and its neighbours were of typical Flemish build with preserved elements and high quality additions. Won’t suite some on the corporate merry go round but the room was excellent the her bejtiful and just around the corner from the hustle and bustle. .

The location is great, the staff very helpful and welcoming. The room I was given (#7) was of a nice size with a great bathroom. However, although the air con unit works, it is humongous and very noisy. My room had a mosquito problem, a bad mosquito problem and I only slept 4 hours the first night. The hotel provided an anti mosquito device the next day and the problem was solved but it should have. been provided form the start. There are beautiful cafés and restaurants all around. There is an inner courtyard where it is allowed to smoke so technically the hotel is not smoke free if you are bothered by smoking, you might want something else. So in short a good hotel in a great location with some quirks.

Personnel is not attentive at all. Breakfast is OK, they ask you the time slot you'd like to have breakfast at, but some dishes were gone at 10. Garden view room is fine, except for the shower/toilet being separated partially, no wall up to the ceiling. Overall experience is worse then in some cheaper or less pretentious hotels with a better service
