Comic Art Hotel...a very pleasant experience

Clean and fresh decor. The comic art theme was present but not over bearing and details were well executed. Lockers available to keep your bag safe after check-out without needing to carry it all day. Staff were cheery and helpful. Didn't try the bar or breakfast this time. The location is great, just a few minutes walk from Gravensteen but quiet away from the centre.

Took a while to figure out the air-con touch pad also controlled the lights.

Good night’s sleep

Very comfortable bed, good night’s sleep

Shower cubicle door opened inwards and made it very difficult to get into the cubicle. The next morning, the receptionist asked us if we’d had a good stay, we told her about the door, but she just ignored us and didn’t comment.

- The location was excellent, and the building itself is absolutely beautiful - The bed was very large and comfortable, and the shower was spacious - Breakfast offered a wide variety of options and was enjoyable - The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay - Housekeeping was efficient and carried out daily

- Deluxe double room had view / windows where the laundry and handyman were parked as well as a the glass corridor of the hotel or building in front of it - Some noise coming from room doors being slammed in the morning which affected comfort - TV access is limited

This is one of the best hotels I have ever visited.

I travelled a lot for business (in the States)—less internationally-/and I’ll say this is one of the very best hotel experiences I have ever had. The location is superb, close to the center of Ghent, but away from the busy streets. The room was wonderful; the food excellent; the decor charming. I’d return here any time.

Excellent Service, staff and hotel experience

Firstly, staff went above and beyond. Night girl was so friendly, helped us download the tube app to get to Bruges the next day, gave us maps, circled things, booked us a taxi and she just was fantastic. The day ladies and gent were all the same, super helpful, polite and the service from them was better than what I have experienced in a 5 star hotel. The rooms and hotel in general were clean and comfortable. Like all hotels it was a little noisy, mostly the people above us but we slept well. The breakfast was Buffett style, simple but good when you need something quickly. Its also served from 7-11am It is close to amenities so 10 min walk to centre but in a nice quiet location on the canal. They have lockers with codes for storage of luggage. I would recommend this hotel

On the edge of the heart of the city

Loved the feel of this hotel. We really enjoyed the layout and the comfort of this hotel. It’s great that it’s close to the main part of town that you want to do things, but not so close that you’re in the busiest area. The breakfast buffet was really nice and an enjoyable space to take in a great meal and enjoy the artwork.

Attentive staff, spacious room, perfect location

We truly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very attentive, polite, and welcoming. At check-in, they provided many helpful tips and a brochure on how to visit the main attractions and where to have a nice dinner. The room was spacious and comfortable, easily accommodating up to six people, with two bathrooms and air conditioning. The location is excellent — just a short walk from the castle. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

Only upgrade your room if you are not put on the 3rd floor!

They changed our room for the second night of our stay which was much more in line with the upgraded room type we had booked. The water they leave in reception. The second night's stay room was nicer. The linens were nice Staff was friendly

I was very dissatisfied with the room they put us in the 1st night. We had upgraded to a "canal view room"... What we got the 1st night was a room on the 3rd floor that felt awful. There was a tiny window that you had to cock your neck to the side and stand on your tippy toes to see outside. The layout of the room felt disjointed and bad with low ceilings and the view from the bed was actually of the toilet room. Not at all great. They have one switch on the headboard that turns of all the lights...including the outlets on either side of the bed....so our phones did not charge and therefore died in the night...we missed our alarms and as a result a tour we'd booked 😞 Also the bed was a little soft and they only provide large square pillows (that are usually decorative) and not at all comfortable for sleeping. Lastly, the coffee maker was a pod system I'd never heard of and the coffee was very weak...why not just provide a Nespresso machine? It would be much better!

I strongly recommend this great hotel because I felt safe, treated like a princess and oh my Gosh this is my place. Convenient to the center, so quiet in the night when you do not want to hear a noise, the employees are amazing and always with a good suggestion, a solution.. a smile! Since the moment I booked I felt I was in the right spot. Rooms and bathrooms: big, new, the showers products are first quality, the cleaning is impeccable and - which, for me is a must-have: no rugs or moquette. Air is clean, decoration are unique (comics based, you will love them), every room is different and every floor is based on a comics story. Thank you! One more thing: breakfast - I did not have but I had a look at the offer: very good!

A beautiful place to stay

This is a beautiful hotel, situated on a canal (our room looked out onto it) in the heart of Gent. The staff are very friendly, the room was very clean and bed very comfortable. I would not want to stay anywhere else in Gent.
