Lovely spacious apartment in a great location with great host.

Apartment was a great size, just perfect for relaxing when getting back from sightseeing. Done out in a Moroccan style, it made a real difference to the usual bland hotel rooms. Bed is very comfortable. Shower was great, nice and large. Breakfast was standard continental style. Cheese, ham, Yogurts, butter and milk in fridge. As well as eggs if you want them boiled. Fresh croissant and bread roles delivered outside your door each morning. Muesli also provided in the room. Kettle and coffee pod machine provided, with tea bags and pods in the room also. Location wise: Literally a 2 min walk from the nearest car park. 15 Euros per day. Just a few mins walk to the castle, and a few more into the center of the old town. It's a perfect location as the apartment is in a nice quiet residential road. Host Andre and his wife were excellent and very friendly. Could not do enough for us. Andre can recommend what to see, some restaurants, and in fact by accident we found he has his own restaurant in the old town.

Affordable retreat with all the comforts of home during a visit to Ghent and Bruge

The hosts of this property were so wonderful and gracious. They were welcoming and easy to communicate with (very responsive) during a stressful traveling experience getting to Ghent. The room was lovely (just as pictured) and the bed was extremely comfortable. All the comforts of home and great suggestions of local sites to see nearby. The location is perfect and so walkable. There's even a small grocery around the corner to grab some basics such as milk for coffee in the mornings and snacks for travel days. If I ever find myself back in Ghent I would stay here again.

Nothing really within the control of the host, but as a solo traveler it was an adjustment to get used to the sounds of others coming in through the entry door (which was right by the door to my apt.) later in the evening when trying to sleep.

Perfect studio for a city trip with a friend

The location was amazing, walking distance from the city centre. The neighbour that received us and gave the key, was super friendly. We decided to also use the sofa bed halfway our stay, and they facilitated this super smoothly. The studio had everything we needed for this city trip weekend.

A small window to open for fresh air. At the front no window could be opened and at the back at the patio only the full door could be opened.

The hosts were really nice and responsive. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The location was terrific.

This Place is a Bargain with lots of Plusses!

The location is great! It sits around the corner from the medieval castle in Ghent. There are lots of neat restaurants and little convenience stores close by. It's also very quiet. The property manager was great and he is always available.

The only issue that we encountered was kind of a funky odor when you walked into the apartment; but, after you were in the apartment for a few minutes, you really didn't notice it.

Wonderful accommodation with a great host in an excellent location

The apartment is very well designed and decorated and extremely comfortable.. André, the host, recommended excellent restaurants and helped us discover the beauty of Ghent. He was attentive and helpful, including providing access to a washer and dryer and taking our luggage to the taxi rank when we left. The B&B is very well located for sightseeing, with an outstanding bakery and coffee shop nearby and close to a supermarket. We highly recommend this very comfortable apartment and hope to be able to return one day.

Lovely small efficiency apartment with amenities, located in a quiet neighborhood, yet close to all the attractions.

The location of the B&B is right near the Gravensteen and has easy access to a number of bus and tram lines, yet it was a very quiet area. There was plenty of space for a single traveler, including bedroom, TV room, and postage-stamp private garden out back. The host provided plenty of coffee and supplies to help get guests started in the morning, and the kitchen was stocked with pans, plates, and utensils for cooking and eating in, if desired, during your stay. Host André was very kind and gave me a brief overview of the city and things to see when I checked in. Be sure to ask him for a bakery recommendation, as the one he suggested was a fabulous mix of bakery, coffee shop, and chocolatier.

Only suggestion I would have is that some extra bath towels and more than one pillow on the bed would be nice… but that’s pretty minor!

Short Break in Ghent

Great host. Clean apartment with self contained kitchen and essential requirements. Very good quiet nights sleep on decent bed.

Not the hosts fault but local workers digging early morning....but I stress this was not something the host was able to control as I believe it was planned cable laying by the regional municipal authority.

Comfortable apartment in a convenient location

My husband and I stayed in a small apartment on the ground level. The room was clean, comfortable, and very quiet at night; the kitchen (located in the bedroom area) was well stocked; nice, hot shower; strong Wi-Fi. The host was delightful and we appreciated that he accommodated us with a slightly earlier check-in. For us this was a great choice for a short stay in Ghent with easy walking access to the historic center.

Just note that you have to pay in cash. Not an issue, but something to be aware of.

Clean, well-equipped apartment - we loved it

Andre was a fantastic host, who gave us lots of great information about Ghent and the apartment. It had everything we needed with a very well-equipped kitchenette (including scissors - a handy wee item that so many places don't have!). We loved meeting the friendly ginger cat too :) Very comfortable, and we'd definitely stay here again if we return.

Great couple of days/nights in Ghent and the Allegra Nova B&B

We were greeted by the owner who immediately made us feel welcome, and provided us with a comprehensive overview about how things worked and places of interest, how to get around, etc. The kitchenette was well equipped, the bed was comfortable, and the shower/bathroom was clean with excellent utilities. The private terrace was a nice welcome addition to chill and relax. Breakfast supplies of croissants and bread rolls were provided on time each morning, and the fridge was stocked with yoghurts, meat and cheese, etc… Great location within 10 minutes to walk to all the main tourist spots, bars restaurants, etc…but quiet. We had a great couple of days/nights in Ghent and the Allegra Nova B&B Thank you 😊

Spacious and comfortable studio near the centre

The studio is very spacious and comfortable. It's ideally located: a few minutes walking distance to the historical centre, so I could do everything without public transportation. Andrei is a very nice host. The kitchen had all the necessary appliances, and there was even yoghurt and orange juice in the fridge. Breakfast is deposited in front of the main door at the time we choose.

Not a problem with the studio, but be sure to use the electric insecticide diffuser provided by the host or the mosquitoes will play their infernal symphony in your ears during the night.

Fabulous

As soon as I walked in the door I loved this accommodation and felt very relaxed. We were greeted on time with a very warm welcome, and given comprehensive information about how things work and places of interest, how to get around, etc. bed was comfortable, and the shower was good. Loved the private terrace. Ample breakfast supplies were provided, and the delicious fresh bread basket each morning was so appreciated and enjoyed Great location to walk to all the sites, but quiet. Easy walk to the tram which took us to the train station on departure

Convenient and well-equipped studio apartment

The location was great -- a quiet neighborhood, and an easy walk to all the sites. The host directed us to the supermarket around the corner, and a fabulous bakery down the block. The apartment is well equipped. It even had a hair dryer with a diffuser (curly-haired people take note!), We liked the egg cooker in the well-equipped kitchen. Great shower.

The layout of this apartment is quirky: the bed and kitchen are in the first room, followed by a small space with a fold-out couch facing a TV. This space leads to the bathroom, which leads to the patio. Bed linens were flannel, which wasn't the most comfortable for summer.

A nice, comfortable B&B but watch out for the mosquitos!

It was certainly in a great location, a short walk to the tourist areas, shops, restaurants, trams, etc. Quiet and peaceful at night. Getting fresh bread delivered to your door every morning was a nice touch.

Didn't realise that there was mosquito repellent in the cupboard until it was too late. Got badly bitten.

The apartment is well-equipped, spacious and nicely decorated. Its proximity to the city center makes it an ideal place to stay.

The only thing that I can mention are the pillows. Unfortunately, we found them quite uncomfortable.

Very satisfied with the place and highly recommended

The location of the place is really good as it is 5 mins walking from the center. Everything is accessible on foot and there is also connection to the public transport. Andre (the owner) was amazing host and he was very helpful overall. He assisted us when we had a bit of an emergency situation and I really thank him for that. I would definetely recommend this place for 2 people (although bear in mind that there is a double bed and a sofa which is though sort of in the same room).

Central location meets quiet and spacious apartment

The apartment is located near Gravensteen castle and the Leie river. Because of its location in a small alley, the place is very quiet. The apartment is spacious, newly renovated, meticulously clean and tastefully furnished, and the breakfast was very good. The owner was very helpful.

Convenient location, friendly hosts

Great location. The building is located on a quiet street in the town from which you can easily walk to anywhere for sightseeing, restaurants and cafés conveniently. We had some issues during our stay and both the host Andre and his neighbours Jan were friendly and quick to assist us to resolve them.

It would have been great if we could have had stiffer pillows. But this is nothing to worry about.

The host was kind and helpful, he guided us with very good tips for activities and restaurants. The house was very centrally located, spacious and well equipped and the breakfast was complete. A paid parking (14€ per day) was available just in front of the apartment (low emission zone). Super recommended.

being very central and on the ground floor, the apartment is exposed to the noise coming from the garbage truck early in the morning and some passersby late in the evening. This was not a big issue for us as we normally travel with earplugs. the soap dispenser in the shower was not working. Towels were a bit small.
