Hotel Rathausglöckel

This hotel is probably one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed at. Even though the hotel is old, it’s very clean. I left a pair of pants in the closet and the staff kindly mailed it to my home. I’m very grateful for that!

Nothing I didn’t like but people should know there are no elevators and rooms tend to be small

Excellent location - close to baths and restos. Room was comfortable.

Not the hotel’s issue but would recommend not pulling up to the hotel with a car; the street is very small plus the parking lot is not that far away. Re the parking discount from hotel, it is only valid until check-out time so you might find it less expensive to risk the ‘max rate’ if you plan to stay longer than check-out in parking.

The breakfast was excellent for its price. The desk staff with very helpful. Our room was clean and the AC unit worked well. It was also quiet. We would stay here again. The best thing is that it is literally a 5 minute walk to the Freidrichs Bad and 5 minute walk to restaurants, cafes and shopping.

If you have trouble with stairs this is not the place for you.

I’m surprised by such a high score. While nothing was particularly awful, the overall quality of facilities does not justify the price. For this price, they could have invested in a good mattress and pillow! Mattress felt cheap. There was only one pillow and it was lumpy and uncomfortable. Wifi was slow during peak hours and kept disconnecting. The shower was leaking really bad. My room was next to the reception and from 8 am in the morning, I couldnt sleep because of the noise. About the service: my request to get a different pillow was ignored, despite pillow selection upon request being advertised! Also during checkout, the receptionist charged me for sekt instead of wine(mini bar), I told her I had wine which is cheaper than sekt, but she insisted, I was not in the mood to argue for 1 eur… all of this was quite weird.
