Great location and helpful host

The location is excellent, only 10/15 minute walk to the train station and 30 to city centre. Very clean room with comfy bed. Marco is an excellent host and made some great restaurant recommendations. Room is like a small hotel room. Outside area and pool beautiful.

The internal space is not soundproofed which I found misleading from description. You can hear other guests and the people up stairs. No ironing board in the room. Towels not changed in 5 days of stay. Also didn’t like only having one key card to gain entry to the property- this was awkward for us when we split up and a worry if we had lost the card.

Good location and great hosts and the pool was bliss with the hot summer temperaturres.

Family run accomodation, very welcoming and friendly. Allowed use of the family pool. Clean modern environment. Good base for visiting the Cinque Terre with train station 20-15 min walk.

Rooms were on the small side especially for 3 people. No facilities to be able to have breakfast in your room.

Great Accommodation, Lovely Hosts, Quiet Location but Felt Cramped for Us

Spotlessly clean. Lovely pool. Marco was fabulous and accommodating.

The room felt cramped with too much furniture. You could hear the upstairs neighbours walking around until approx 11pm and started up again at approx 5.30am. The neighbours next door were noisy with slamming the doors and keys. We had to remove the air fresheners from the room as they were overpowering for us and made us cough.

The property was very clean and the outdoor space was absolutely beautiful. Our children enjoyed the pool and eating space outside. We thought it was a wonderful stay and Marco made us feel very welcome by even greeting us outside when we arrived. He was very helpful to answer any questions and give advice for restaurants etc and offering to drive my parents to train station. Thank you

Elisa and Marco were incredibly hospitable, friendly and helpful, the room was clean and nicely decorated, and just perfect for us. The lovely pool was a well needed addition in July. The villa is further away from the harbour and centre, but it wasn't an issue for us. If anything, it was good to be further from the very touristy areas and enjoy food in the same restaurants locals eat at.

Marco, the owner/caretaker is the best. We got stuck in traffic and reached the place quite late. Not only he kept telling us not to worry until we reached there, he made everything very easy for us including giving his parking spot to us. We have very good experience. We stayed there for one night but I can't think of staying anywhere else if we visit La Spezia again.

A great place for a trip to Cinque Terre.

It was perfect to visit Cinque Terre. It is easy to get to the train station. We didn't need our car and found a free public parking space in front of the apartment building.

There passes a road in front of the building, but the noise didn't bother since the windows blocked it well.

Perfect !!!

Villa have very nice garden (Lemon and orange trees are beautifull) with swiming pool. Marco and Elisa are very friendly and helpfull. All questions was answered with some recommendation. We had room with small balcony. There is no vila's parking. But it is very easy to park around. Quite close to centrum. Maybe 15 minutes by walk and max. 5 minutes by car. It is very good base to trips to 5 terre. Small clasical Italian bar in front of villa, good for easy breakfast. Cafe + croissant = 2,50€.

Great outside space, plenty of places to enjoy the sun and the pool is a great bonus. The room was big, comfy and spotless with the added extra of a balcony. The owners were very attentive and friendly and made everything very easy. Couldn't have wanted more.

the hosting family is friendly, concerned about the well-being of their guests in short knows what hospitality means and taking care of their guests. The property is neat, clean, comfortable and the swimming pool is a real asset and very nice. The location is perfect for visiting Cinque Terre, but also the city Center of La Spezia is a great place with many good restaurants (Nana Meat and Maia e Battiston)

Lovely property but location wasn’t ideal for us

Well decorated, very clean and secure. Lots of outdoor seating and lovely pool. The owners make themselves available for any queries and advice.

The property is located quite a walk, through not the nicest areas, from the centre of La Spezia/marina. We attempted it once but drove thereafter and finding a parking space isn’t always easy either. This is of course no fault of the owners but worth researching if you want to be able to walk to most restaurants etc.

The hosts were extremely nice. when we arrived Elisa provided us with all necessary information on how to get to Cinque Terre and also Restaurant tips. When we arrived we noticed that we had a flat tire on our car. We were extremelu nervous to get it fixed but Marco was there to help all the way. He made sure the tire was fixed within the next day! We were extremely thankful!

Recharge the batteries and enhance the tastebuds

I was received very well upon arrival, Marco & Elisa booked me a place for lunch that was fantastic and even drove me there - Italian hospitality at it's finest. Elisa then invited me for dinner, what more can I say here? I was treated like family while on a relaxing break in La Spezia. The room is comfortable and well lit, great shower, and cool in summer. La Spezia is famous for its mussels or "muscloni", you need to try them, and if prepared by Marco & Elisa, prepare for something exquisite and homemade. Also, Marco makes his own Limoncello that is a must try, in fact you can buy bottles from him directly. The town is a short walk away and the train station can take you to Cinque Terre, as well as to Milan or to Pisa. The keys are simply a key card that accesses the gate and room, quite simple. Across the road there are some cafés and pizza places, there was a great café to the left down the hill with delicious Focaccia(also what La Spezia is famous for). For amenities, there is a great ping pong table as well as a relaxing pool. La Spezia does rain a bit so I was told, so make sure to get to the pool at the right time. I can say I will absolutely be back to visit Marco & Elisa sometime soon, very hospitable people and excellent property to stay in.

Only thing that was bothersome was the noise from the fridge in the room, I had to plug it out. There is a constant buzz that might disrupt some light sleepers.

Lovely hotel and owners

Lovely couple running the hotel with lots of nice touches that show the love and care put into the place. We changed our check-in time pretty last minute and they accommodated us.

Street parking was a little tricky. We had to park a 5 minute walk away but then by the time we went out for dinner.there was a couple of spots right nearby we were able to move to. Had bad expectations that the area wasn't as busy I think!

Our stay at villa Marcella was amazing. It feels like visiting friends. Elisa and Marco are just lovely people and made everything to make us feel home. The garden is such a lovely place with many cute details and a great relax area. The villa Marcella itself has a perfect location to visit the cinque Terre. It's just a 15 minute walk to the train station. The pool is a big plus for cooling down after sight seeing. Thanks Elisa and Marco for having us :)
