A really special place to celebrate our anniversary

We booked a night at Château Gütsch for our anniversary. And it was perfect. We were in a corner room with magnificent views over the lake and mountains. Loved the historic building, the setting, the decor, the unique cocktails at the American Bar and fabulous food at the on-site restaurant, Luminiere. Wonderfully comfortable bed and selection of pillows. And the visitor card provided by the hotel made getting around Lucerne so easy. Next time, we'll book for longer!

A small ask: would be a seal under the door to close out light and sound from the passage. We used a spare towel.

Beautiful location.

Stunning location, beautiful views in a historic building. Room was large and elegant. Fantastic bathroom.

Would have liked a kettle in the room, which is standard in most hotels. Some staff very flippant and unhelpful. Not told that the bar would be closing early due to a function. There were three different interactions with different staff that day, none of whom mentioned this. We had planned to eat there as stunning room and reasonably priced food. When we arrived for dinner we were told we ‘need to clear the bar’ ‘you have to eat in the restaurant (a La Carte) or room service’. Asked to speak to the manager who then facilitated our preferred meal (from the bar menu) at a table in the restaurant, with complimentary champagne. We appreciated his intervention but the prior staff members could have been more flexible and hospitable. TV in room also not working and just told, ‘sorry, someone will be here tomorrow to fix it’. Not exactly how we would expect the staff or service to be in such a hotel.

Gutsch has lost some of its soul.

Brilliant location, fantastic views, bar staff was awesome. The reception desk manager was extremely helpful.

Looks like Gutsch has lost the chef and a part of their soul with that person gone. The food is okish, but it was not that what I have expected having the memories of Gutsch before. Especially it was noticeable at the breakfast, got a feeling that it was minimised optimise costs. Both the ingredients and the process. For example, I was asked to for the eggs order even before I had a chance to look at the menu. Got plain scrambled eggs, only to find that I could have had bacon along with it.

Perfect luxury get away for anniversary!

We stayed one night in the superior lake view room and it really was lovely. The room we got was a corner room, it was big and the bathroom was very nice as well. The breakfast was very good and you could really tell it was a 4 star hotel there as hot dishes were ordered and made upon request instead of served buffé style.

Overpriced for the weekend

Charming place. Very beautiful garden.

Overpriced. For 500 per night at the weekend. You don’t have even glasses for water in the room. Usually for this price you have in room: slippers, bathrobes, coffee machine, tea. In the bathroom there’s no spase on top to put my cream. The room with stairs is not comfortable, you need to pul up your trolley or run up and down for piking up your staff from first flor. It is too hot inside, and the mattress are too soft. I had a bad sleep:( on the foto included minibar beverages.

Our stay at Château Gütsch was truly magical😍like living in a fairytale castle! ✨ The views over Lucerne and the lake are absolutely breathtaking, and the peaceful forest trails behind the property made our mornings unforgettable. The entire experience felt serene and luxurious in every way. All the staff at reception were super nice and welcoming, especially Aala, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. She went above and beyond to make everything perfect. It was our most wonderful stay in Switzerland..peaceful, scenic, and totally worth it. We would love to come back again someday! 💫

It was a highlight of our European holiday to stay in Chateau Gutsch and we would love to stay again

The room was beautiful and the view spectacular. It was a dream come true to stay in a Chateau and Chateau Gütsch met all of my expectations and more.

I would have liked a kettle to make a cup of tea in my room.

Unrivalled view

The location and view of the hotel is completely unrivalled. We had a Lake View room that encompassed a view of the Alps as well, which was just spectacular. Even without the view from the room, the view from the Hotel terrace is enough to make the stay totally worthwhile. We couldn't take it in enough! The breakfast was very good and the staff all friendly and eager to help. The room was clean and well appointed. The restaurant and its food was magnificent and would highly recommend at least a night in the restaurant. The chef even met with each table in the dining room which was a wonderful touch.

The access to the check-in desk can be a bit challenging with luggage from the elevator. It was fine for us as we could manage, but those who are less able will struggle. There is also no baggage service but that really is a minor problem. The room was also quite tight for two with international luggage, but there is little the hotel can do about this given the age of the building.

The view was amazing, the property was aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. The breakfast was so good, the staff were so kind and helped make our stay better.

Beautiful location with an amazing view. Each room was uniquely styled. The lobby and extra areas were beautiful and peaceful.

We had 2 rooms. We asked for rooms with air conditioning. One room had air conditioning the other did not work. We notified them of the issue but they were unable to fix the problem. We had a terrible night sleep. They could not compensate us because we booked through Booking and it was paid for. Disappointing in that fact.

Never Been Treated So Well

I have never been treated so well and made to feel so important. We showed up exhausted from travel and without food for most of the day. We had a warm welcome, light atmosphere, and a surprise of an upgraded room. The hotel itself is stunning. The views are amazing from every angle. Though we stayed only one raining night, it was the highlight of our European trip.

There is nothing I could say negative other than I wish we could have stayed longer.

Great location and Chateau experience in what is an amazing city.

It was interesting to stay in a Chateau hotel and we loved the nature walks nearby as well as the proximity to the town. The views are incredible!

The room and 3rd bed were not very comfortable but we were only there 3 nights hence, its ok... Very tight quarters... Another issue is, the pricing for everything is a bit excessive for what it is - from the food to the laundry service, it is 100% prices for tourists who pay for a 'Chateau' experience...
