Nice spot close to the landmarks of Lucern

It's very well located - a block away from the central train station by foot, with lots of great restaurants, bars and shops close by, as well as primary sites such as the old wooden bridge under 5 minutes walk. The single room had a single bed but enough space in the room. The breakfast buffet was amazing in terms of quality and variety of local Swiss produce. It was also nice to have the large communal dining area available 24/7 to help yourself to coffee, teas and water.

Whilst the single room itself was a decent size, the bathroom was seriously tiny. The fact that the hotel is connected to a restaurant also meant that there was a heavy food smell in the corridors. Finally, the rooms are so close together and the walls not super thick, so you could hear every movement in the corridors.

Close to the station and Chapel Bridge

Single room pleasantly sized, nice clean bathroom. Breakfast with lots of choice (but not cooked), coffee and tea available all day long. Breakfast room with one large family table which is nice to meet new people but there are also smaller tables for couples. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The bed, especially the pillow, was not as comfortable as I'm used to but for two nights it was ok.

The hotel is just a two minute walk from the train station, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

If I were to point out one drawback, it would be the slanted ceiling in the attic room. Aside from that, the hotel offers excellent value for money.

Excellent stay! The hotel was spotless and very comfortable, with clean rooms and facilities. Perfect location just a short walk from Lucerne train station. Breakfast was very good, and the free espresso and tea machines (plus an ice machine) were a great bonus. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Reception closed at 10pm so in order the come in/out need to get in/out with key is less ideal but ok for bed and breakfast.

Wonderful stay

Super convenient location, a few minutes walk from the train station, ferry dock, and to old town. Comfortable room and friendly staff. We love the huge and nicely decorated breakfast room, good breakfast with lots of selection. We can also use the breakfast room anytime for drink and snack, heating up food and eating take out dinner.

The heat in the rooms. It was too hot to sleep. I understand that it was August and heat is to be expected but it was unbearable at night and if a window was opened it was very loud. Good quality fans should be offered in the rooms to help with this

A charming and very pleasant hotel, in an excellent location

A modest and slightly 'retro' hotel, but in a charming and very pleasant way. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city. The breakfast is excellent, with a remarkable selection of vegetables and fruits. The dining room serves as a pleasant meeting place throughout the day, with free access to the coffee and water machines. The staff is kind and very helpful.

*The main drawback: there is no air conditioning, and the fan provided in each room is quite weak *As a result, we have to leave the window open during the many warm nights in August, and street noise can be quite disruptive. *From 10 pm until the morning, there is no one at the reception.

The hotel location allowed us easily enjoy all local attractions and travel to surrounding areas.

The breakfast room was light and airy and attended to by two very helpful members of staff at all times. The food and drink was replenished constantly and the quality was excellent. During the heatwave our room location meant it remained hot day and night but the hotel worked hard to move us to a different/better room for which we were very grateful. The location was just excellent, being a 5 minute walk from the railway station and 3 minute walk to the Chapel Bridge.

The heatwave was clearly out of the control of the hotel but the management worked hard to improve our situation. We understand that local laws etc. mean that getting air conditioning into this area of Lucerne is very difficult.

I would have no hesitation in booking this hotel again the next time in Lucerne!

The breakfast was good, and the breakfast staff were quick to restock food that had run low, unlike another hotel I visited during my trip, the breakfast room was not being packed up 30 minutes before breakfast was over! The breakfast room gets a little crazy and busy between 7-8am, but the staff were amazingly patient with some demanding guests. I am always gobsmacking by how rude guests can be. The room I stayed in was great, clean and had everything I needed. Whilst it didn’t have a mini-fridge, the fridge in the breakfast room was available to put things in if needed. The staff were easily the most friendly staff of my 7 week trip to France and Switzerland. I was warmly welcomed and given time by reception when checking-in, everything explained well, and I felt that if I had any other questions they were more than approachable to ask. A big thank you for the chocolates left on my bed to wish me a happy birthday during my stay… little things like this make a wonderful difference.

I am being picky, but my room was next to the stairs, and if guests were heavy footed, and some were, I could hear them thumping up and down the stairs.

Charming hotel in Lucerne

Charming hotel right in the heart of Lucerne—its location is unbeatable, which explains the price. The hotel feels more like a cozy bed and breakfast, and their breakfast was honestly one of the best we had in Switzerland, offering a wider variety than most places we stayed. The room size was standard for Europe, and they provide a helpful booklet outlining the hotel’s rules. We stayed in June when the weather was quite hot. While they kindly provided a fan, I’d suggest having two fans available if there are multiple guests in the room, as it was still quite warm despite opening the windows for fresh air. Housekeeping cleaned our room daily, which we really appreciated, and they surprised me with a thoughtful little birthday treat—such a lovely personal touch!

The only suggestion I have is to provide two fans in rooms with more than one guest—it would definitely make the stay more comfortable. Hope this helps as constructive feedback! :)

Location is the best. Breakfast is fantastic. The hotel open the common area 24 hours for coffee/tea and guests can sit and relax or bring in and eat some snacks or quick easy meals. That's very thoughtful.

Nice hotel near the old town with great breakfast and service

Great location - right near the old town. Rooms are small (as is the usual case in cities) but comfortable. Beds and showers are good :-). They have a great breakfast, and a lovely breakfast/lounge sitting area, with a fridge you can put food in. We used that quite a bit and really appreciated it. Staff are really, really helpful. You can borrow umbrella's (if needed) and they gave great advice on local restaurants.

The only thing was the lack of A/C. I understand this is common in older European hotels, and we were given a fan. We went in early June, and it was fine. I can imagine in Summer it would get quite hot.

Very enjoyable stay in a lovely, welcoming hotel

Great location and friendly staff. Breakfast was lovely, everything was very fresh. Loved that we could use the breakfast room at any time of the day, we often ate lunch in there, and there was complimentary tea and coffee all day and a fridge for guests to use.

Fantastic location

The location is ideal, close to everything in the old town, surrounded by restaurants, shops, and other hotels along with the beautiful historic buildings. Bed was comfortable but very soft. Bath great, room comfortable

I really like having a kettle in my room. Yeah, they had one at reception with both coffee and tea (but no black or English breakfast tea) and no room fridge either. For what I paid I felt I should have had both but in no hotel in Switzerland was there a kettle in the room. My hotel in Zurich had a coffee maker and a small fridge.

Excellent location, comfortable stay with family

Rooms were clean, daily service was provided with complimentary water bottles. We liked the location, very close to Lucern station. Staff was very friendly provided us information and helped us with any questions during our stay. We took breakfast included during our stay. Options were limited but breakfast was good. For family of 4 traveling with kids, hotel central Lucern was perfect.

The location of the hotel is perfect; just 5 mins walk from the train station and the Chapel Bridge while it is quiet at night. The room is a bit small but it is tidy, clean, and comfortable. The quality of the breakfast is good.
