Wonderful cozy authentic feeling hotel in a beautiful town in Switzerland.

Amazing experience. When you think about going to a town in Switzerland with a cozy hotel, this is exactly what is in your mind. Location is great, historic structure looking very nice, rooms are great, staff is great. Restaurant is authentic Swiss, with high quality food. What pushed it up over the top for me was they have a piano that guests can play. That really causes guests to connect and makes you feel that the other guests are just normal people like you and not strangers.

Lovely, characterful hotel. Warm and comfortable

Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of delicious foods. The breakfast room was so elegant! The staff just the right side of friendly. The facilities were very good and our bathroom was excellent.

The only downside was that there is no kettle and Tea/coffee facilities in the room. There was a refreshment area on the mezzanine but that meant carrying hot drinks up 2 floors. And also meant getting dressed just to get a morning cuppa.

Taking in the full Lucerne experience at this historical, perfectly located hotel.

It is full of history, and my room was very small, but it offered all the amenities and services (turndown, super helpful staff), along with its charms in decor and antique furniture, more than made up for it. Its location is less than 10 min walking from the train station and 2 min to the famed river and bridges of Lucerne. Loved it and would def stay here again.

Don't hesitate while booking

It's a fantastic hotel. Room 308 309 was big compared to European standards. Great location, and the hotel has a certain character about it. Friendly staff there was really nothing to complain about.

It was disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel especially in summer

We liked the decor of the hotel. Its boutique style decor makes it unique from the usual hotels. Our rooms were clean and the beds were soft

The breakfast was very limited. Rooms were extremely hot in June because of no A/c. Since we were three people staying in one room, one fan was not enough for both the beds. When the kept the windows open it was so noisy outside that I couldnt sleep the entire night. I had requested for an additional fan but I was told there was no stock. The wifi is also very weak. Most of the time while we were browsing the wifi would switch off on its own .

A great location for sightseeing in Luzern

The location is perfect for a week end visit to Luzern. The front desk staff were always helpful and smiling and the room was always made up for us nicely by Linda.

The property is quite dated but that’s also part of its character.

Use of the laundry facilities in the basement was greatly appreciated. There was no breakfast.

Indeed a romantic place to enjoy

I felt amazing from the very beginning- reception was accommodating my request and I got a great quiet room with amazing bed that helped me to rest after a long journey. Breakfast had a nice selection. Definitely worth a second visit!

A bit difficult to negotiate the various flights of stairs within changing floor levels (historic building!) with large and heavy suitcases. Unfortunately the lift was out of service on departure day and no staff to assist with suitcases down all the staircases.

stayed here on past occasions quirky old fashioned but I enjoyed it especially the two restaurants, this occasion impossible to eat at the Swiss style restaurant both nights. ate the gourmet 5 course tasting menu the first night but cannot eat like that 2 nights running. Normal restaurant fully booked - but the hotel wasn’t!!!! A 4 star hotel with the restaurant unavailable to guests is a no star hotel in my view!!!!!!! when I asked for the miles and more points they list on their website I was told “claim them yourself - we don’t know how to!!!!” Rubbish service - only stay if you want a crash diet!!!! I require two walking sticks to move had travelled 40 hours plus on arrival and it was raining - don’t tell me to walk around Luzern looking for a restaurant!!!

Fantastic historic hotel in perfect location with gracious staff and thoughtful traveler amenities. Sort of a "hotelier's hotel"--you can tell they have been providing traditional, high quality services for travelers for a long time and they are very good at it. Lovely touches throughout hotel make traveling comfortable and easy--from a salon on the mezzanine set up for playing cards to tucked away corners for chatting and lounging, the hotel has great amenities. 24 hr coffee and tea on 2nd floor was also a nice touch. Decorated in traditional antiques with classically decorated and comfortable rooms. On site restaurant, gorgeous formal breakfast room, and lovely etchings and old paintings everywhere. Cozy but spacious, and very relaxing. Lovely armoire, full length mirror, windows that opened for cool night breezes, lovely set of manicure/cotton pads/sewing kit in bathroom, and wonderful retractable clothesline in shower/deep tub. Wifi worked great with darling desk in room. A true Luzern experience, and perfect location just across the pedestrian bridge from Old Town in a quaint, quieter, very historic area just a few steps from the river.

Wish they offered breakfast options or a la carte for those who only want a light breakfast, since full breakfast buffet is lovely but a lot and expensive. Also the coffee/tea machine on 2nd floor needed servicing. TV channels for English speakers are very limited, and in room TV was older, smaller model--could use upgrade. No AC like almost all hotels in Luzern, but interior of hotel--lobby, lounges--stayed cool, and room cooled off at night with windows open and fan.

I loved the place and going back there again.

The place was beautiful, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and it was located in the old town which was in the middle of all activities.

Thera isn’t anything I didn’t like about this place.
