We booked a quadruple room for 4 people. The room was too small with barely any space to stand. The bathroom has no locks and was semi transparent. No cupboards or storage in room to store luggage. 4 bunk beds with difficulty to climb up and down. Extra charges for breakfast and city tax every day for each person. Please don't book this hotel. Not recommended at all.

We actually had no idea this hotel used to be a real prison until the moment we checked in! It gave us a great laugh. We 2 of us staying in a 4-bed dorm, and true to the jailhouse theme, the room was extremely small and compact, definitely no space if you have big luggage. However, the experience was incredibly unique and memorable! The room was spotlessly clean, and the location is excellent, just a short walk into the heart of Lucerne. Definitely a fun story to tell!

The hostel is 10+ minutes walk from the train station, stairs included if you choose the closest road, or you can take a longer way with the main road. In-room lockers provided but not enough to fit in luggage. Metal bunker bed. Might be a bit noisy in the night as pubs are nearby. New towels are provided daily and they make your bed daily in my 2 nights stay. 2 in 1 shower gel are provided in the shower rooms. The building is quite new and clean, the wooden stairs in the dorms make some great squawking noise. Doors are not optimized so there are some slamming every time people get in. The breakfast is quite decent, they have bread, cereal, packed yogurts and oatmeal. Additional tourist tax need to be paid while checking in.

There are no jug for water heater and iron. But the staff is very helpful.
