Friendly staff and excellent breakfast

Excellent breakfast with great variety of hot and cold fresh food. Staff are friendly and helpful. Thankful they had the adaptor for guest to borrow. Also like their cozy and boutique style of decor.

Fabulous hotel! Wow!

Wow! What a beautiful hotel. Super cool bar area too. Immaculately clean. The shower was brilliant, powerful, spacious and hot with lovely smelling shower gel. Bed was super comfy and cosy. The receptionist who checked us in was kind, helpful and friendly. A really interesting building that was well located for Lucerne.

The only thing that could be improved was that the WiFi was a bit patchy at times. Also bath sheet sized towels would make everything perfect.

Fantastic stay at the quirky Hotel Anker.

Breakfast had everything we could want, with standout highlights including the delicious bacon and fresh-baked pastries. We also appreciated the early 6:30 a.m. start. The location was perfectly central to everywhere we needed to be, with the added bonus of free bus travel. We especially loved the photo booth and photo wall—it was a fun and memorable touch.

An unmissable highlight!

Our stay at the Anker hotel was a highlight if our trip! The hotel is cute, quirky, artsy, with immaculate attention to details, from the backpack in your room which you are welcome to borrow for day trips, to the cut glass water jug on the table, to the delightful explanatory notes of hotel policies. It was raining when we arrived and the receptionist gave us each an umbrella to borrow for your walking tour. The design of the hotel is so original, with something to notice on the ceilings, on the walls to every corner - even the crockery and cutlery at breakfast is quirky and original! Very close to the train station.

The room was hot and stuffy, but opening a winter fixed that! We were there late November, so not sure how bad it would get in Summer or Spring.

The room was too dark. The shower only had one glass “door” and water left the shower and landed on the floor. The sink had no stopper.

A beautiful and practical space that set a wonderful tone to my quick visit to Luzern.

A great location to explore the city. Really beautiful and comfortable room of good size with lots of attention to detail. Lots of closet space. Huge bed! The staff were wonderful, attentive and warm, and quickly solved the minor issues I found.

The room had a safe, but it wasn’t big enough to hold a laptop computer of any size (small tablets, phones), which was unexpected and inconvenient. The desk in my room was of good size, but didn’t have proper space for placing one’s legs under. It was still functional, but not great for extended work sessions.

A somewhat disappointing room size but great customer service & an awesome daily breakfast.

Great & very helpful staff. Extremely clean, including a good size shower with great water temp & pressure. Absolutely fantastic breakfast. Comfortable beds however the 2 single beds (mum & grown daughter travelling) were so close together with no option to really separate them further. Nice touches added to the room such as a magnifying mirror in the bathroom & a backpack in the room for discovering Luzern and surrounds. Awesome & ever changing view of Mt. Pilatus.

The superior room didn’t quite live up to its photos. I.e. disappointing & a lot smaller but the bathroom was big for European standards. No fridge in the room.

The best thing about the property was the staff. Fabian at the front desk and the young lady that was there in the morning. We’re very helpful as we planned our way around Lucerne and the outskirts.

we did not like the fact that we could not adjust the heat in the bedroom and had to open the window to make it cool enough to sleep and even then we couldn’t get it cool enough and we’re talking about the end of October. The towels are very worn and for a relatively large man you can’t even wrap it around yourself. The TV did not work. The reception basically stunk. Actually had a couple of channels on the TV. The shame was actually had some English news channels like the BBC, but the reception was so bad you couldn’t even watch it

Comfortable, clean, fun and colourful room. Very quiet on the top floor. Great breakfast. Fun decor.

10 minute walk from train station. But not a big deal. No laundry service. (Laundromat 10 minute walk away)

Great stay near the center of Old Luzern

The location with access to the old town and train station is excellent. It is an older building that is nicely renovated, including nice bathrooms. Among our group, the rooms were all different, some roomier than others. The breakfast buffet was very good, and we also enjoyed relaxing with drinks in the bar/lounge in the late afternoon. Overall, very friendly and welcoming staff.

The rooms on the lower floor picked up some outside noise, but it did not disrupt sleep.

A good hotel with everything good except for the breakfast staff & timings...blurring the goodness..

We liked everything about this property. Good room, good housekeeping, good location, friendly staff, good breakfast too.

Nothing really to dislike other than the small thing we noticed about the breakfast timing...it appeared to us that the breakfast staff were in a great hurry to wrap it up by 10 AM...maybe they had their reasons but just saying that you'd better be on time & finish at least 10 minutes before the closing tome. Despite a half hour city power outage that happened on one morning forcing us to be a bit late for breakfast, there seemed to be no consideration for the guests whatsoever on the breakfast timing which could have been proportionately & rightfully extended. Robotic like stuff going on at breakfast unfortunately, even on that particular morning.

We found the Anker Hotel to be perfect! Great staff, super location, decor was stunning and it was spotless. A nice chilled vibe.

One of our favorite in Switzerland

The room was so big and comfortable and overlooked the Matterhorn. We had a vaulted ceiling that just opened the room, but there was plenty of space. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions. The breakfast was excellent.

The water pressure was low in the shower. Temperature was inconsistent. But talk about minor details!

Very good stay and an awesome room

Modern interiors, great location, very good reception staff. Awesome room, very quiet just as we requested. Huge balcony having its own curtains, which was something pleasantly new for us. They even gave a good standing fan without asking. And a variety of pillows to help pick the right ones. Special appreciation for Tamara.

Some of the older restaurant staff can be a bit grumpy, compared to the young ones who show positive energy. But this seems typical for Switzerland. The bathroom door didn’t have a lock inside which was weird, but we simply used a hair band on the internal door knobs. But overall, nothing major that impacted our stay.

We loved this hotel. It’s a boutique hotel so the rooms are a bit smaller but manageable. The location is very convenien

The breakfast was excellent!! There is cold meats, scrambled eggs, eggs with peppers and tomatoes, bacons, pancakes, pastries, cereal. You can boil your own egg. They even have a whole block of honey comb. The staff is very friendly. You can rent bikes (not sure if it’s free). Their eclectic decor is fun, hip and not hippy!

No AC (though there’s a big fan). I didn’t get a mid-size towel for drying my hair.

everything, I’ve stayed at Anker for more than 7 times now. the service and staff have always exceeded my expectations. my last stay, they know that I will be needing ironing set and kettle in the room and it’s there without asking

Overpriced.

The service from the staff was friendly and efficient. The hotel has a modern and colourful decor. Breakfast was good, but not exceptional. The location is convenient.

I was surprised by the number of details which weren't great given the price I had paid for the room. My room was meant to have a mountain view, but I was given an upgrade on arriving and my view ended up being of a busy crossroads. I had a commitment to make, so didn't have time to change rooms. There is no air conditioning - just a fan provided. The towels are thin and not great quality - I would have expected better for the price I had paid for the room. There wasn't much space to move around in the room - thankfully I was only there for one night. Water from the shower spills out into the bathroom, so you end up mopping the floor. Toiletries are very minimal - again, not what I would have expected given the price.
