Cute little place at the right price and close to a train station
The rooms are small, no coffee marker in a room. The ceilings is very low

Location and self check in. Excellent. Didn’t need staff help but would def stay again

The room itself was excellent - comfortable bed and very spacious. Great location and kitchenette facilities. The property was very clean and it seemed like a fair price for the facilities in Switzerland.
A few things to work out - our key cards stopped working which was an easy fix but still an inconvenience. We used the washing machine / dryer which were great to have however they took a very long time. Last day the water was being turned off at 9am - understand having work to do but perhaps this might be better when more people are likely to be out for the day.

separate kitchen, daily housekeeping, cool deco & vibe overall, nice view in the old city, warm rooms during winter
pillows were too squishy & soft, not too comfortable to sleep and there are no extra pillows, getting to the Lubo from train station with luggages can be challenging (cobblestone street and/or staircases), iron not in room

The premise has 24hours self service washer and dryer, which helps a lot for tourist who travel in europe for few days.
The location is quite near to Luzern train station, though you need to claim the stairs with your luggage if you want to walk the short cut route.
Room is consider spacious, with cooking ware and utensil. However, it would be better if can have microwave as well.
Staff entered the room to leave a note (regarding water shortage) eventhough we have opt to cancel housekeeping. They could have slot the note in through the door gap, for better privacy.
The heater in the room seems like not working.

Location. Less than 10 minutes walk to/ from train/ bus station & close to restaurants, bakeries with a Coop supermarket nearby.
Some info in The Lubo App regarding the heating and cooling system for the rooms will be very helpful. We had trouble with warming up the room.

Have television, kitchenette, safety box and fridge. Great Location.
Not safe enough cos someone knocked on the door before midnight claiming he was locked out of his hotel room and kept knocking for almost an hour. I was terrified and scared. No staff was on site to raise the issue. Should have at least one staff on site for emergency issues and need to install more CCTV and main entrance need to install passcode so that only guests are accessible, not uninvited guests.

The staff is friendly and promptly picked up the phone when we encountered a check-in issue.
The hotel needs to improve its cleanliness. While we were showering, the water suddenly stopped halfway. There was no water in the room or the kitchen.

The water shut off while I was showering. I was left covered in soap suds. I dried off with drinking water. It didn't get fixed for hours. The pillows were like paper. The hotel was like a maze. I was cold at night. I had a nightmare of an experience at this hotel.

Location is great. It is in the heart of Altstadt and within walking distance to the train station and local attractions.
We were on the top floor and had a gorgeous view of the nearby mountain.
We like the kitchenette. The kitchenette had all the necessary amenities for a simple meal/breakfast. This would be a wise accommodation choice for budget-savvy travellers.
The decor within the hotel is simple but tasteful. Everything felt very clean and organised.
There is a paid laundry facility (app-facilitated) at the hotel. Price is reasonable and comparable to self-service laundromats.
Communication can be improved on. The "self check-in" could have worked better. It was convenient, except we did not get all the login credentials emailed to us. We were fortunate enough that we arrived during staffed hours, and managed to get the login code directly from the staff working at the cafe that operates as part of the hotel. We encountered other guests that arrived after hours and could not check-in due to issues with the self check-in system.
Only one washer was operational in the laundromat, but this was a strictly temporary issue.

Super location in the Old Town- shops, eateries and walking distance to nearby attractions. COOP is like 40 m away and fast food Twiny Station just opposite, serving one of the best schnitzel sandwiches with sambal sauce!
Toilet lighting can be brighter

Loft room. Quaint but a little bit quirky ina good way, clean, plenty of room compared to other places we looked at and stayed
Not a problem to us but the lift only went to the 5th floor and we were on the 6th.

Everything. Location is absolutely perfect. It’s right at the heart of Old Town at a walking distance from all the important sights of Lucerne. Railway station is also 10-15 min walk from there. Check in was easy, room size was big enough with a small kitchen area , tv and everything.

The location was perfect in the middle of the old town, surrounded by lots of restaurants and shops. The kitchen facilities were good and the bedroom was spacious.
Our bathroom did not have blinds. When we raised this with staff they were very accomodating and offered us a room change. However, we found it slightly odd that there was not any in the first place. This was a minor issue and we enjoyed our stay nonetheless :)

Location was good in terms of attractions but bad in terms of luggage transportation. We walked with our luggage from the train station to the hotel which turned out to be a painful mistake because we had to travel on a cobblestone road for awhile to reach the hotel. Upon departure, we called an uber to the train station even though it was only a 10 minute walk because we didn't want to deal with the cobblestone walkway.
The rooms we booked were clean and spacious with a nice kitchenette. The small fridge in the kitchen worked well. The bathroom was nicely appointed except that there was only shampoo (no soap) in the shower.
There was almost zero noise insulation from the hallway. Unfortunately, my room (202) was located right next to the elevator and stairway, so there were frequent periods when I had to listen to people's loud conversations in the hallway while they loitered in front of my door for whatever reason.
The rooms have nice stools/chairs in the kitchenette, BUT the downside is that they make loud noises when dragged across the concrete floor. The noises were quite loud from upstairs due to the lack of noise insulation between floors.

The colour theme (black) inside the property and overall building is not so nice

location
Our room was incredibly hot, the air conditioner unit would often through the night make random loud noises that woke us up. The toilet was positioned so insanely close to the bathroom basin that I actually scraped the side of leg sitting down on the toilet. Our chromecast didn’t work the whole time we were there, our bedside lights flickered so we just left them off during our stay. 50% of the washer and dryers were out of commission while we were there. There was a small double quilt for a queen sized bed which was very hard for a couple and the pillows were incredibly thin. Very uncomfortable sleep. The room didn’t look remotely like the one we reserved online.

Location, room size, facilities, vibe, great place if you don't have a need to see the staff (keeps costs down)
Pretty expensive. Would have liked to see accurate check-in instructions (but they promised to fix those)
5.0 / 10.0
proximity to shops, restaurant and train station
It was put in as a pre-requisite that room cleanliness is required due to allergies
During our stay, the housekeeping service was informed, but it wasn't attended to
As a result, few members in the family ended up being under the weather

The Lubo is a modern and practical option right in the heart of Lucerne. Its biggest advantage is the central location—just a short walk from the train station, the Chapel Bridge, and many restaurants and shops. You can explore almost everything in the city on foot. The concept of the hotel is self check-in, which works smoothly through digital codes. This makes arrival and departure very convenient, especially for travelers who don’t want to worry about reception hours. The rooms are clean, minimalistic, and stylish, with comfortable beds and good use of space. Since it’s more of a self-service concept, don’t expect traditional hotel services like a front desk, daily housekeeping, or breakfast. Instead, it feels more like a modern serviced apartment. One thing to keep in mind is that the central location also means there can be some street noise, especially on weekends. Overall, The Lubo is a great choice for independent travelers who value location, comfort, and modern design over full hotel services.
Overall, while the hotel is convenient in terms of location and design, the self check-in concept was not suitable for me.

The location was great, near to everything, and yet in a quiet pedestrian street. It was clean and plenty of well placed plugs.
The room was cleverly designed, with a queen bed below for the parents and double twin bunks above, with a panel between and their own lights.
We had booked early and requested a high floor and view, we got the first floor and an alley out our window.
We knew the layout of the room, but it was a lot tighter in person. I’m only 5’2” and a small person, but walking between the bed and the wall, I kept bumping the tv that was mounted there.
Also, there is a safe that takes up a lot of the storage that we would have preferred to have open. Anyone staying in this room probably has two kids and so probably four bags.

There is no staff, but for the most part that doesn’t matter. We had a great room, beautiful view and great amenities. Wish we could have stayed longer
It was difficult to find the luggage room. We needed to store our bags before checkin and we wandered around and had to ask another guest for help

Amazing location in the center of Lucerne. The comfort of the bed/ mattress and overall cleanliness of the apartment was appreciated.
I would not recommend to anyone paying near the rate we paid (400+ per night). Approach to room is up many stairs and resembles a prison w marked caution tape on many concrete cinder block stairs. Is advertised as apartment style room with kitchen however someone has been so cheap as to not provide a coffee maker w pods and kitchen equipment is two small teflon pans. To make matters worse they advertise free drink if you waive room cleaning but when you go to collect drink it is apparently not an actual drink but a bottle of sparkling water or fizzy apple juice.

Good location in the old town of Lucern
No staff on site. When we arrived the aircon wasn't working, so we called the phone number shown at the check-in kiosk. They said they couldn't help because they "had no one on site" (this was around 7pm on a Tuesday), which seems a rather poor excuse.
No secure luggage storage. When we left we wanted to store our luggage, and the staff of the coffee shop in the same building (who seem quite annoyed with the hotel guests in general) told us to put it in the luggage room on the 1st floor of the hotel. Anyone (even non hotel guests) can walk into the hotel and get access to that luggage room without anyone seeing them (since there is no staff). They would have plenty of time in the luggage room to go through all luggage and take whatever they want. We decided to store our luggage at the station.

No breakfast. Location noisy
Everything. The room was dark & gloomy. No toaster or kettle supplied in the kitchen area. So in order to have morning a tea or coffee we had to go down 5 floors to fill up with a dangerous hot tap ((if not ever used before), by the time you climb back up , as lift took ages to arrive, the hot water is cold . Ridiculous not to have a kettle for European visitors!
Sofa bed was basically a mattress on the floor .
A beeping sound through the night 3 seconds of noise with 30 seconds gap then over & over again all day & night . We turned everything off to try to stop the noise . Spoilt our sleep every night . Pillows very uncomfortable. 3 nights of poor sleep. Too noisy to have windows open with bells & general outside noises & music.
A fire alarm woke everyone up on Thursday morning 24th July someone was cooking, it smelt like toast but no toaster supplied .
Our room was so unsatisfactory that we tried to change rooms but the new one offered was far too small .

The laundromat & the little cafe downstairs
The room was so small & stark. The self check in was a disaster. Firstly we couldn’t get in as there were so many people having problems trying to check in. We were very lucky that one of the guests helped us and eventually we managed to check in.
I thought I had booked a kitchenette & didn’t check my confirmation properly so we were disappointed when we ended up with a very small room. It took us a while to find the room as quite a few rooms didn’t have any room numbers.
I booked because there was a lift advertised however the lift was at the top of steep stairs.

Great location and one of the less expensive hotels in the city. Very good AC. Convenient check in process. There are laundry facilities (although we didn’t use - we think these charged an additional fee).
Facilities were very poor - no fridge or kettle in room. Double bed comprised two single beds which drifted apart from each other as they were not secured. Our room was located on the first floor. The sound insulation was very poor and there was lots of excessive noise, particularly from the restaurant/bar. Cigarette smoke frequently entered our room due to the lack of a draft excluder at our door, and the absence of another partition between our room’s door and the door leading to the street.

Location.
Staff were responsive to issues below when we managed to get hold of someone. Thanks
Had troubles with the plumbing. First room had no water to shower so we had to move to a lesser Luo friends room which was ok given I was travelling with my son but would have been a real problem if travelling with my wife. It also wasn’t what we paid for. That room also proved to have a blocked toilet so we had to relocate to another Lubo Friends room which was ok. 3rd time lucky.

The space is nice and great location. Close to everything. Friendly staff.
Our room is on the corner right above the busy square. It’s a bit noisy if you want to open the window to have some fresh air. Other than that. It’s pretty good value hotel.

It is well located near to Old town, all the shops, grocery markets are near by. The train/Boat station are just 10 min walk away so easy to manage with the kids. We opted family room, which is comfortable for kids and parents. The facilities were good.
The check-in guidance could be better. The facility has two entrance, one main which has lots of stairs, there is in the back which has direct lift to go to any floor. This information could be handy at the entrance to avoid picking your luggage through the stairs. The online mobile checking didn't work at all, end up taking the card then able to access the facilty without the issues.

The pillows were a little uncomfortable
