The location was wonderful with the views of the river and the bridge. Sunset was magical over the river! There were many restaurants nearby to choose from, so finding a good dinner location didn't take too much effort! By having a tasty breakfast just downstairs in the dining area, it was an easy and great way to start the day. The staff was always friendly and smiling. You felt that they were truly there to ensure you had a great stay in Lucerne. The parking spots behind the hotel made it easy to access the areas outside the city.
The layout of our room was perfect for us since our adult son was with us. He had his own room, we had our own room and we shared a bathroom in between the bedrooms. The space absolutely fit our needs. If I had to knit pick, the bedrooms were tight and the 'view' from the windows was of scaffolding for a wall they were working on reinforcing. There was some noise from the construction, but it didn't start too early and didn't really bother us. You did need to watch yourself in the bathroom since they were working just outside the window. haha. But no complaints with our stay at Hotel Karl.

We loved our stay here. The room was 103 and he three beds which was perfect for us. The river and views outside our windows was epic. The breakfast was delicious and was perfect start to our daily adventure. The front desk Patric was a picture of Swiss excellence. He was knowledgeable, kind and took his time to answer our questions. The lady(didnt get her name) was also sweet and helpful. The Swiss are the kindest people. This is our go to when coming to this area.

Bed was comfortable
Average hotel (definitely not boutique) - basic rooms and environment given the high price. Location not walkable from station - too far with luggage. Staff a bit difficult on check in. All in all ok for an overnight stay.
