Perfect location, super close to everything with a parking garage right next door. Spacious and very clean room with a comfy bed. Breakfast had everything we needed including very good Swiss cheese. Super easy self check in.

Budget hotel in convenient location

Location - 15 min walk to train station. Close to shops, waterfront & bridges. Continental buffet breakfast was nice.

Hot & stuffy inside while below zero outside. Pillows & bed hard as a rock with heavy doona even though it's hot inside. Industrial bathroom fan switches on with the light, then roars for ages afterward. Broken shower screen making it difficult to step into bath/shower.

A wonderful overnight stay in central Lucerne.

I love that there was sufficient explanation throughout the hotel in absence of physical staff at check-in. The luggage storage for 2CHF was a bonus to my stay when i wanted to explore after check-out. The room was cozy and was grateful for how clean and large it was. It was conveniently central and felt very safe despite noises late at night outside my door, which was probably due to being next to a door.

I despise the fact that when I went to get breakfast, there was no one to greet me. Only after I had plated food, I was informed by staff that since food was not included in my stay then I would have to go downstairs to pay at the kiosk before I can continue my breakfast. This was very embarrassing because had I known that then I would have done so rather than have to leave my food unattended. This could have been easily avoided if someone was there to let me know at the breakfast hall at entry. I left the food there and checked out of the hotel because I found that very unprofessional. I am grateful that she was polite, but it took off points of my review of the stay.

Surprisingly good.

Room was well designed with lots of hangers. Bed was extremely comfortable and large. Was exactly the right temperature. Breakfast was good with Gluten-free rolls provided. Could have coffee at all times in the dining room.

Some absolutely superstar decided to make a hot dinner in their room and triggered the fire alarm. Which we could barely hear because the room was so well sound insulated. Great for sleep, bad for emergencies. If you put coats on one of the wardrobes, you can't actually shut the door.

Very good location, nice place to stay. Large bed. The bathroom was pretty big.

No air conditioning and since it is very noisy outside the room we kept the window shut so it was hot at night. There was a fan though.

Perfect

Absolutely brilliant to have left luggage lockers so we could begin our exploration of Lucerne immediately instead of having to lug our bags around or wait until check in time.( returnable CH or 2 Euro coin needed ) Very, close and a short, easy walk to the station. Central to everything. Very helpful receptionists So nice to be able to get tea and coffee and cold water all free plus a microwave all day long in the breakfast room Would absolutely definitely return. Take your bathers, swimming in the lake is a beyond wonderful experience ❤️

Great location and self check in process was nice and straightforward.

The pillows appeared very full and comfortable looking but seemed to collapse as soon as you lay on them. I had neck pain for days as a result of them. Likewise it was routinely 30 degrees Celsius during our stay and the lack of air conditioning was dreadful. We would have to take freezing cold showers before bed and hope we didn’t wake up during the night with the heat which unfortunately did happen every night for me and my wife. So we didn’t sleep well at all during our 3 night stay. Given the exorbitant prices of Switzerland I don’t think I’d say this is good value for money.

Solid hotel option

Clean, comfortable, good breakfast, easy check in experience, standard

Walkable from the train station, but not the closest. It was a little hard to find- Google maps had us going through the adjoining shopping center which was closed. But once we turned the other direction on the street, the entrance sign was clear.

Great location to see Queen of the Mointains

Big rooms with excellent breakfast. wry. loss to gas station which made it easy to go to various excursions such as Mt. Rigi and Platus!

It was good

I like it because it's near the train station and self check in anytime specialy with a delayed arrival.The room is clean and smeel clean.

They dont have kettle in the room.I sleep late and I want to drink tea at midnight the hot water is in 2nd floor and closed at 10pm. There is only 1 pillow and there's no top sheet and blanket.

Luzern - just a lovely place to visit

Location - excellent location, short walking distance (10 mins) to Lion Monument, Luzern main train / bus station, bus stop right in front of the hotel, good restaurants, COOP & Migros like just next door. Fairly large corner room, for 3 pax. Very polite and responsive staff

Poor location of electrical wall sockets - eg located under the TV counter, none at bed side tables. ( we had to plug in the electric kettle on the floor, next to the sofa bed)

A standard hotel for short stays but no mod cons. Clean rooms and facilities. No tea or coffee in rooms. Hard to find. Good for 1 / 2 nights, but I would recommend spending a bit more cash if you want a better experience, but it does what it says on the tin. Thanks for the stay.

A clean, comfortable hotel in a central location.

It's difficult to find any affordable accommodation in Lucerne, so we appreciated the functional, no-nonsense nature of this self-check-in hotel. If you need human help, you can go to the reception desk next door. The hotel is centrally located about a 10 minute walk from the train station, with a shopping mall, supermarket, and other amenities nearby.

Lucerne was a beautiful city and the hotel location was wonderful.

The location and room itself were wonderful. Beds and bathroom were clean and comfortable.

I did not like not having any contact either staff and had messaged to try to check in a little early and never heard back. Everything closes early and it would have been nice to have been informed of this.

It’s a pathetic experience we have got in ambassador…wifi wasn’t working and when complained about it the staff didn’t bothered to look into it.

hotel in old city with excellent public transport access

- central location in the middle of old town, all sights in walking distance - bus stop to train station and the Pilatus gondola just next to the front door - room for 3 people big enough for 3 persons - you receive free transportation card by email which you can use for public transport in Luzern

- the water kettle in the room would be nice - furniture is a bit old and sofa for additional person really not so comfortable. but generally we had really good stay there and we would stay there again

Better than expected. Warm hospitality

Breakfast staff at Lapin restaurant exceptional at meeting needs of guests. One girl in particular made us feel extremely well catered for and went above and beyond. Dinner at restaurant (same place) provided good service and meals of Swiss cuisine. Loved our room also - courtyard view with opening window. Fan provided but not needed

Connect Ambassador to hotel De Lapaix so guests do not have to walk outside to access restaurant and reception
