Good location, friendly and helpful reception staff and free breakfast. However……..we specifically booked this hotel and this particular room as the (only) photo from the balcony showed it having a view of the mountains, river, bridge and old town. We wanted to sit out with a bottle of wine as we were celebrating a special occasion. We were however given a room on the side of the hotel (see photo) facing a tall stone wall and only a side view of the river overlooking a large public car park and apartment blocks. To make matters worse there were 5 workmen repairing the wall just a few meters away which meant we couldn’t sit out. We were so disappointed and spoilt our special day. The lady on reception said she’d had quite a few similar complaints about this room. I am now pleased the photos have been updated showing the front and side views to prevent anybody else being misled but no apology was received from management, in fact he tried to say the new photos had always been there. Disappointing.

This was a wonderful stay. We enjoyed spending evenings on our balcony overlooking the River. The free breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our bed was comfy and the shower was a good size and easy to figure out. This hotel is located at the far end of old town, but it was very walkable. We loved the mill bridge and the Mühlenplatz area.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean but not air conditioned. The distance to attractions was much further than the minutes shown on Hotels. com listing. For instance, the walking time to Chapel bridge was at least double the time shown on Hotels.com's site. The hotel is in Old Town but at the edge far away from Chapel bridge. The rooms were clean but "tired" with no place to sit except the beds and the desk chair.

Great location. The weather was perfect, however I forgot to notice that there wasn't any air conditioning. Ceiling fans and floor fans did the job plus you could open the windows.

This is not a hotel, its a school and you will be a case study. The area is unsafe for a solo female traveler. The online pictures do not match the actual hotel. The hotel room looks like a college dorm room. The area is very dark and dim with sketchy people around. The curtains do not completely close on the window, the screen door to the balcony is flimsy and not secure, the door key barely works. Upon check-in I was standing out in the rain for over 15 mins as there was no way to enter the building. There was nobody there from 10 pm to 7 am with nobody to address any issues or safety concerns. I left the hotel as I didnt feel comfortable sleeping there. I messaged the hotel about my safety and security concerns and they not only refused to provide me with a refund, they totally ignored my complaint and didnt have the decency to respond. I would discourage anyone from booking here as the amount you pay is totally not worth what you get. This hotel is a complete tourist trap and they will take your money without offering anything in return.

The only thing we enjoyed was the location. This hotel is far from boutique and does not seem to .atch the images and description. It feels like a school dorm or old hospital turned accommodation. While our room size was good for a triple, we baked in the room with no air conditioning it was cooler outside tgan in this oven. We coukd not wait to leave which is a shame as Lucerne is soooo beautiful!

I stayed at this Hotel with family for 3 nights. We booked a balcony room which had nice river views. The room was spacious & clean. The best highlight of our stay was the spread of breakfast they offer. Rate it 5/5. The Hotel staff was awesome. The only reason i did not give the overall rating of 5/5 is because the Hotel room did not have an AC. It was very hot last week of June in Lucerne. Having an AC Hotel would have been better. The hotel room did have a fan & they offered us an extra floor fan too.

A reasonable price hotel with a big bathroom and toilet. Excellent and friendly reception who explained key places of interest around the hotel. Kudo to the reception staff. Flexible check in and luggage storage facilities. Good spread provided in the buffet breakfast and great service staff. Walking distance to the central train station or a short tram/bus ride to the hotel. A scenic river in front of the hotel and in the old town. Would recommend anyone to book the hotel, especially with such courteous, cheerful reception staff to welcome you and is always helpful with any enquiry. Would book this place again in Lucerne.
