That specific room is awesome. The hotel, it’s only okay.

The bed, the pillows, the coffee capsules on the bedroom, the cleanliness, the location.

The entrance looks like a smoking place and the smell is really bad, even inside the hotel. There isn’t any facilities at the hotel and everything you need - including breakfast - is at other two hotels from same group near Magic Hotel.

Location was good, staff were nice at the other hotel that checked us in and out

The beds were like actual bricks, my neck and back were so sore the following day and it was nearly impossible to get to sleep because of how uncomfortable they were. Also aware check in would be at another location which involved going back and forth with two 23kg suitcases

A lovely large spacious room in an excellent location!

The staff were friendly and very welcoming upon our arrival. We were upgraded to the Krone Hotel which was great because we were exhausted when we finally arrived at the check-in desk. The location was excellent and it was very easy to walk around Lucerne.

It was very confusing to find the reception for Hotel Magic. When we finally found it, we were then directed to go to another hotel for check-in. This could have been communicated to us via email before arrival.

Lucerne is gorgeous. We stayed here for 1 night & loved it enough that we came back for a further night.

The lift was in every 2nd level so we were woke early with people banging their luggage down the stairs.

The number of bedrooms and bathrooms met our needs. We had a small balcony that overlooked the river and the Chapel Bridge. Close proximity to the train station.

You had to walk through the first two bedrooms to get to the third bedroom.

The view was an alleyway but it was nice to open the window. We had to drag our cases down the road to check into the hotel krone, then drag them back to our hotel magic on cobble stones.

Very big quirky room, great decor. Stayed in the Angel room and they were everywhere! Large bathroom. Very clean.Excellent position for exploring the town

Location was very cental in the old town

We had to check in at the sister hotel, which was 150m away....there is no reception. The entrance is where local kitchen staff stand and smoke. Our room was a gothic themed room, black walls and red curtains...complete with a mirror on the ceiling! The clock tower is outside in the square and chimes every hour. Building work was going on in the square and started at 7.30am....so no chance of a long lie in. The room was very tired and desperately needed a refresh.

It’s not really a hotel, the actual hotel where you check in is down the street. The room was clean and attended to daily, but bed was hard and pillows were flat. Just not comfortable. The location was great, just around the corner from the river.

The bed and pillows need an upgrade. No air conditioning, which is common in Switzerland. 2 fans were in the room, but on our hot day the room did not cool down enough even with windows open. Internet was spotty, at best.

Noisy! Our room was right above the working area for the restaurant located on street level. Workers started at about 5:00 in the morning. Bathroom was huge but very little counter space. Had to check in and out at a different location.

The hotel would be called a apartment not a hotel Very nosy at night with the doors closing. You had to check in at another hotel called Korne which you had to breakfast . The different in the two hotel could not be different , hotel had no Soil

Pick somewhere else

No AC, could not open windows as an event was being setup in the court making lots of noise from 05:00. No reception and side pathway main entrance not well indicated.

I am pleased that we found the Eyptian room at The Magic Hotel which helped us enjoy our visit to Lucerne.

We liked that the accommodations were as they appeared in photos. The location is outstanding and we were able to leave our bags before check in so we could walk around for a few hours without them. I thought the price was pretty good compared to other listings. I loved looking out our window into the square below. One day brides and grooms seemed to be celebrating their weddings all day one after another. Another day, there were people with a karaoke machine singing and being silly. There is a Brasserie below in the building but we did not eat there.

As far as short comings, there was a small elevator that brought us up almost to the top level 5 so it could be tricky for families with several kids or people who can navigate some stairs. We had to ask for extra toilet paper but I messaged through the booking.com app and someone brought it over right away.

No worth at all

Room too small no space to get down from the bet . No light in the room as if we are in a Bar. No worth . No lobby need to check in onother hotel . Not worth for money . They take a security of 50 CHF as blocking amount and said it will never charge but it went from my card when I ask they said to talk to my bank

Really unpleasant

Lack of space getting in and out of bed , the lighting was bad . Had to walk to another hotel to pick up a key . The USB plug didn’t work. Very difficult to get out of the bed as the wall was there and you had to get round the TV . The man at reception was rude and condescending. Far to expensive for very little .

Pleasant

Great location. Right in the middle of town. I know a lot of people complain about the clock tower however we didn’t notice it with the windows closed. We were also on the other side of the clock tower in the symphony room.

No aircon. The fans provided did not help much. The hotel was hard to find at first and check in is at a different location. Room did look very dated.

There is no air conditioner so I wouldn’t recommend this place in the summertime. The constant bell ring meant we slept poorly - bells ringing every quarter hour all through the night.

Uncomfortable room in a beautiful city

The location was awesome. It was very close to many things in Lucerne.

The representation of the room furnishing in Booking.com were NOT representative of the furnishings in the room. The furnishings were not in a good state of repair. The chairs frame were cracked or broken. The seat slats were no longer connected to the chair. The bed was quite saggy and uncomfortable. You can see this in the photos attached to the review. When we mentioned to reception (which is at a different hotel) we were told the owner is no longer investing in the property... just taking customer's money. I would NOT recommend this property to family nor friends.
