If it is views and location that you are looking for then this is hard to beat.

A simply brilliant location with views that seem to go on for miles. Well decorated and comfortable rooms. Staff were attentive and assisted with local information etc.

The breakfast offered could be a little more comprehensive. There was no bacon or sausage option to accompany the eggs that were offered.

Pleasant but inconvenient location

Staff were friendly and the breakfast was pleasant while quite modest. Staff asked how your eggs would like to be cooked which was nice although is potentially a measure to control how many eggs can be consumed.

Although we requested the balcony room viewing the lake as depicted in the images, we received one with no balcony at the end of the building. This room seemed to be one adjoining another room. While the location is scenic looking over Lucerne on Sonnenberg hill it is rather inconvenient to get to and from. The hotel provides no shuttle and the funicular is closed during winter. We had to uber multiple times during our stay in which case it would have been better to stay in a more central area.

Superb location with ample parking at no cost

Unbeatable location and fantastic views with ample parking space at no charge. Rooms are as expected for a 3 star hotel. In general facilities are quite good as is the restaurant which we could not use for a dinner. Breakfast is sparse and would welcome greater options.

Personnel is scant as we arrived before 6 pm with no staff at check in desk and had to call their night number to gain access to our room. No elevator in building.

Beautiful panoramic views and great food

We had the top floor corner unit with panoramic views of Lake Lucerne. Quiet at night. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Hotel’s restaurant was excellent. We were out midday so we missed mittagessen (seems many people walk or take the funicular up to have lunch at the hotel) but had their nachmittag which was excellent (salad was great).

Internet was difficult to connect to but Caroline was very helpful and got us connected. The bathroom was mostly clean but needs updating. The bathroom window opens to the terrace for the room next door. There were bars on the window to limit visibility but they are not effective. An outside shutter would be helpful for privacy so window could be open wider to let out steam from shower.

The location was serene and removed. The breakfast was beautiful and delicious. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Peaceful Stay

Gorgeous views from the hotel, very helpful and friendly staff, clean accommodations, great nature trails close by, and one of the best hotel breakfasts we had on our trip. If you’re ok with shared bathrooms, give this place a try!

Great stay!!

Stunning view, amazing breakfast with great cheese selection, very comfortable rooms, which were very close to the bathrooms! We enjoyed a lot our stay. The restaurant area is really fancy and nice!

Just a note that the hotel is located at the top of a mountain, so accessible by car basically. The view is worth it!!

Shared bathroom was poor. Toilet bowl dirty, toilet seat broken. Shower room layout strange, difficult to get out of the shower. Ridiculously overpriced for a bathroom shared over a number of rooms.

Spectacular views and incredible people

The staff were incredibly accommodating and couldn't be more helpful! A nice touch with a personalised welcome letter too! The location is unbelievably beautiful. Truly incredible views from anywhere at the hotel. Especially from our room balcony! (They even provided binoculars!)

Nothing during our stay resulted in a complaint.

The breakfast could be improved with fresh veggies like tomato, cucumber, and bell pepper, better yogurt with toppings, and more coffee options. Sweet choices like filled croissants, cake slices, muffins, or pudding would be great. Adding seeds, nuts, and options like tortilla or small savory pastries would make it more complete.

You can go up and enjoy the view and drink a beer, but don't waste money to dine and sleep over.

The location is great with a fantastic view of the alps and the lake.

The restaurant menu offers very little choice and focuses on "nouvelle cuisine", which practically means a lot of money for very little unknown food. We had to Google to understand what they are offering, but even Google failed, so we had to ask the service personnel. We later asked locals of Lucerne, who know fancy restaurants, but even they didn't know the names we presented to them, so probably some personal creation of the Chef to make the guests feel like they are on a lower level of knowledge. The rooms are clean, but very small for the high price. The hotel promotes a green approach, i.e. the rooms are not made up, if you don't explicitly require it in advance, but this you only know, if you read all the information available on numerous stickers and notes spread around the room. We came back after a long day out and the rooms were not made, which was not so nice. It cannot be an obligation that the hotel guest has to read all the information provided by the hotel in the room. The default should be that the room is made up and if you want to take a green approach, you can ask for it, not vice versa. Feels like 'green' intolerance and fundamentalism.

The setting, the room and the delicious dinner overlooking Lausanne and beyond. Absolutely stunning. We had a corner room with a large balcony with views across.

Very nice hotel overlooking Lucerne area.

The hotel was very nice and in a beautiful location, although it is not the most convenient for access to the city of Lucerne. Staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. The funicular has limited hours, so we were not able to use it in order to take a bus into the city. The walk from a bus stop to the hotel is up a steep hill, and we had almost constant rain when we were there, so for us (aged 70+), walking to the hotel was not a reasonable choice. Although there was reduced visibility the entire time there, we could not see the mountains, although we believe the views would be spectacular on clear days.

We thought the food and service was very good, although portion sizes were quite small for the price.

- The Restaurant and view from the terrase and restaurant is amazing. 10 plus. - found a nice surprize for dog accomodation, it was great to find some blankets, bowls and carpet for the dogs, awesome- thanks! -i was alowed to enter the room (early checkin) many hours in advance. - thanks!

Photos of the rooms show you have a nice balcony and fancy bath with spa products. I have specifically booked a more expensive room just to have the balcony and view from it as per the photos. There are only two rooms with balcony and when i asked they were somehow already booked by someome else?- strange and disappointed. The bath was kind of outdated and no spa products were present. - price for dog/night a bit high (20 frank) -i know it is Switzerland but...

Superb

The view from the window was amazing, the room had a Jacuzzi tub and shower, and the benocle helped us see the farthest reaches of Lucerne. A handwritten personal greeting from the general manager awaited us upon arrival, which was very nice. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Unfortunately, there were no disposable slippers in the room and the breakfast was very poor.

Great stay with nice view and helpful staff

Magnificent view.! Nothing can beat this.this is the reason I choose this hotel. Reception- Alan is very friendly to help us log in WiFi with his phone SMS. Thanks for his help. Reception team are friendly and helpful too. They share me the Visitor card with free riding on bus in zone 10. We just walk/hike along the path from hotel, to Obergutch bus stop. Bus 10 will bring us from Obergutch to Luzern Main station. We save transport fare. And the view along the path from hotel to town is marvellous.you gotta try this. Toilet is big and clean. Good hot water for shower

Room facility is pretty basic. No electric kettle no fridge . .but there is coffee maker and heater.
