Our stay at Le Splendid Hotel Lac D'Annecy was very comfortable. The room was spacious and thoughtfully designed, with an extra bed corner that felt like a separate little room. Everything was very clean, and the towels were well provided. The pillows and blankets were extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax and sleep well.

Overpriced. Not great quality, despite kind staff.

No parking, we were told to use public car park 5 minutes away. Not even a space available outside the hotel to pick up my wife and our bags because they were being used by contractors. No soap in bathroom. Bed linen very synthetic.

A very well-located hotel with great parking convenience, perfect for sightseeing

Fantastic location right in the middle of the pedestrian zone — everything is just a short walk away. There is a city hall parking garage about 3 minutes from the hotel, and the hotel covers the parking cost, which is a big plus. Very convenient for exploring Annecy on foot.

The shower leaks and there is no door or proper barrier, so water spreads across the bathroom floor and it becomes slippery. Wi-Fi was also quite slow.

The breakfast was wonderful, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. As were the front desk staff except for one older man who checked me in and gave me the wrong room - a smaller than I booked

Nice hotel at the heart of Annecy, perhaps too pricey. Pictures were looking nicer on the website.

The property was well located in the centre of Annecy. The hotel offers room service which is a plus.

The locking system of the bathtub was not working perfectly and there was a leak on the bathroom. The room service system was not well explained and that created a misunderstanding when we wanted to order breakfast in our bedroom. Hopefully a member of the staff kindly informed us how to order our breakfast accordingly and there were no issues later.

Good accommodations, staff, location, & breakfast but maybe 3 star and not 4

The staff was ready and able to provide any service requested (e.g. directions, call a taxi, etc). Breakfast was one of the best I've encountered in my travels throughout Europe. The hotel was recently renovated so everything in the room was sparkling clean. I was glad to be able to open the window for fresh air. Location was excellent. I was able to reach on foot everything I needed to visit.

Le Splendid is rated as 4 star. In my mind a 4 star hotel would have bigger rooms, a sofa, a view of the lake and maybe chocolates on the pillow. Le Splendid had a spa (which I did not use but my wife tells me that's enough to get 4 stars). The wifi worked perfectly but I never figured out how to connect the TV to my computer so just watched TV on my computer screen. I'm sure somebody on the hotel staff could have shown me how to do it but it shouldn't have been that complicated.

a cosy and stylish stay in a very central location

we liked the central location, the style of the hotel, the interior design. The staff was very friendly. The bed was good, we slept very well. The breakfast was amazing, with a lot of delicious local products.

the hotel does not have its own parking facility but a convention with local public parking houses. So parking the car was a bit of a challenge on a very busy December weekend.

Funky hotel within easy reach of all that Annecy has to offer

Amazing location right in the heart of Metz. The decor was very original and the room very comfortable with plenty of space for all. Parking was very easy, secure, and affordable in nearby underground car park.

Our room was super expensive and it was next to extremely noisy street. It was the loudest room ever and I am travelling for 25 years. We couldn’t sleep for few nights. We wanted to change the room, but consierge was very surprised and didn’t help us and offered even worse room. There was also not nice smell from the bathroom. A real gem of a hotel: aptly named … it is truly Splendid!

Excellent location: an easy 10-minute walk from the gare, as well as Old Town. Perfectly located for any experience. Our room had one of the best showers we’ve ever experienced. Everything in the room worked, which is becoming increasingly uncommon. The staff was incredibly generous and polite, and always available. The baked goods at the breakfast buffet were always fresh, and always warm. (They were so good that we both ate like pigs!) All the items in the mini-bar were gratis, and there was a daily evening treat delivered to our room. You really knew how to make us feel special and welcomed!

Exquisitely splendid!!!

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here, we adore this hotel!!! Its simply exquisite. Incredible location, easy parking situation, and outstanding facilities!!! The attention to detail is superb: electrical outlets near the bed, lots of lighting choices, comfy beds... most of all the staff are wonderful... thoughtful discreet warm and helpful!!!! We can't wait to return!!!

Disappointing experience

This is not the deluxe place and stay you are paying for. Everything is old and broken or janky. Kettle won’t turn off you I don’t think you can sell a room as having a “courtyard view” when it’s just a filthy rooftop through a 30cm window. The rooms are so dank dark and musty. The shower is ridiculously small with no where to put your thingsThe plug just has a small slippery plastic square floating on top you can’t stand on and the tiles are all cracked and moldy. It’s got one sad luggage rack just these giant dark cupboards but no where to put luggage if there’s more than 2 of you staying everything just ends up of the floor. The decor is depressing and does not look light and bright like the photos. Maybe you should change the description to large double room instead of superior double with view because there was nothing superior or view about it, also the so called lake view room was pretty much a sliver of tree and road. Definitely don’t stay here in Summer as even on a 29degree day it was nearly unbearable to sleep in the room no air flow.

It sold itself being upmarket and we took my partners mum for her 70th birthday weekend and she was so disappointed with it she was supposed to get the “Lakeview” I don’t know from what angle or height they’re suggesting this in from maybe the higher floors. For the price it’s one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in.

Disappointed to discover a lakeside view room was a bit misleading. It gives the impression of overlooking the lake whereas the lake can barely be seen. A better description would be a view over the Champs de Mars. Also room cleaning ok but could be better.

Way too expensive for what was offered

The location was very good, on the lake and just behind the old part of the city. The room was quite comfortable and clean and the entire hotel was smelling very nice.

In general I consider that the check-in time of 15.00 that hotels are using is laughable and fully against the customer. In any case, our room wasn't even ready at 15.00 and we had to wait (although we had even asked per email whether we can check in a bit earlier)! The price for the room was waaaaay too high for what the hotel is offering and we were expecting something much better. We had booked for 3 adults and one child and only found 3 sets of towels in the room, while both shampoo bottles were empty. The breakfast was decent, but we have had better breakfast in much cheaper hotels. Very few gluten-free products were offered and we had to specifically ask for lactose-free milk.

Location was fantastic and although they don’t have parking they have an agreement with a car park just across the road.

Low chairs in the breakfast room were lovely, but some alternatives for older or people with reduced mobility would be appreciated. 🙂
