Les Loges Annecy Vieille Ville

There is no question the location is excellent and the staff respond politely and promptly. But to label this a 5 star hotel is just not appropriate. It is equivalent to a decent airbnb. There are no facilities as it is not a hotel and there isn’t even a lobby. The lovely gentleman who welcomes you runs the restaurant below. Our apartment was 2 bedrooms but the second bedroom is up some stairs and small with a tilted ceiling so you have to duck to move around. The breakfast bakery basket is lovely but is meant to be delivered 8-8.15 and we had to message at 9.30 asking where it was one morning which made us run late for our activities. We arrived back at 4 to find our room had not been made up. When i messaged about this the response said we had not requested it. I requested it for the next day and again at 4 the room was not made up. In messaging they said that is because they don’t make up rooms until the afternoon when guests depart. But checkout was 11. There was no kettle to make tea amd when i asked they said to use the coffee maker but it was broken. The power points in the kitchen were also not working. They did however get us a kettle on the last day. To cap things off I had seen a review complaining about the return of the excessive security deposit (300 euro) so I made sure ours had not been debited. The answer came back that unfortunately they had made an error and charged us that amount. It then took a week of mucking around to get it refunded. I’m sorry nut i needed to say these things in order to advise other travelers. It was a pleasant stay but not 5 star.

The apartment was a good size. Bed was extremely comfortable. All mod cons!! The welcome was super friendly and amusing - the host was quite a character.

Great location and great breakfast

Had to pay a deposit as well as paid for the stay in advance and it did not get re credited to my bank for 3 weeks

Hosts offered to deliver a basket of basics in the morning for a fee. We enjoyed the view and proximity to be able to walk everywhere and down to the lake. It’s a gorgeous area.

Perhaps the restaurant attached could have offered an earlier opening for breakfast. It was difficult to find a decent breakfast in the morning. The unit was located right on top of the main square in the old center. Beautiful area but overcrowded with people and loud at night from revelers partying. It was also very difficult to find the unit with a car. There was no car access to pull up or park at the hotel so we had to park in the public lot and walk with our luggage. It was not far but difficult. Hosts did give gps links to parking and the walking directions to the hotel.
