Convenient and clean

Not a 4 star Novotel standard but the staff went a long way to make up for this.

The location was excellent and the staff most helpful.

Our room had to be changed because one of the mattresses on the twin beds was made upside down and so you sunk into a hole.

I probably won’t return to this hotel. I would find somewhere with friendlier staff.

Great location.

The check in staff member said we hadn’t paid for the room. I showed her emails and receipts. After a while she finally she got her manager who found our payment. There was no apology by either staff member. The first staff member was so rude. I don’t know her name as her hair covering her name badge.

Ticks every box for families

Brilliant value for money and such a family friendly hotel

We loved it, perhaps the only downside was that our room overlooked the train junction which was quite noisy during the night when we all shuddered as the trains went underneath us! But if you like trains, then it was excellent! Ha!

Nice staff and lobby but strange room designs

The hotel is located close to the city center and train station which is good. We stayed here for an event so this was the perfect spot to be. The lobby and shared facilities are nicely built and maintained. The staff was welcoming and friendly.

The rooms themselves have a couple of design flaws. The first would be the access to fresh air. The main windows are not supposed to be opened because the risk of falling out. The heating/ ventilation system though is programmed for conserving energy, which in theory is a good thing but, when it’s 10 degree outside and I want fresh air, but the ventilation says, we don’t cool down below 24 degree to save energy I don’t see the point. In the end we found a way to open the “doubled” windows anyhow. Another real problem is the ventilation of the toilet. For some unknown reason this is in a separate room other than the rest of the bathroom and it has no ventilation at all. The next strange design choice is, that the room offers no proper light, only two small LED reading lights on each side of the room, can’t really understand what the designer was thinking. Last but not least the additional chaise lounge which should be a bed for a third person sits around in the room like it doesn’t belong there. There is also no desk or chair in the room. Overall our stay was fine, but I think the room design needs some upgrade.

Good in overall, the only negative point is that our room was just above the rail sncf and we can hear from time to time the train passing by, but not loudly luckily

Absolutely wonderful!

I always try to stay at Novotel no matter where I go in the world, because I've never yet had a grumpy staff member. They are always absolutely lovely and this is what's most important to me. And that it has 24 hour front desk. And I know the quality will be awesome. And I always feel safe. Also, because most always have the Creme Brulee on their menu which we LOVE!! Thank you Novotel.

Great comfortable stay with great staff

Location is bang next to the Annecy Train / Bus Station. There is a shortcut from train station to the hotel as well which we didn't know about. The room was great, adequate space, large window, bathrobes. The location is close to the center of Annecy as well -3 mins walk and you're in the streets with loads of restaurants, shopping etc. Quite close to the lake as well.

Great location, comfy room, nice staff. Kids enjoyed babyfoot in the lobby.

Disappointing with a capital D.

The front of house and housekeeping staff are really friendly.

Where to start !! A four star hotel, only paper cups in the room, no glasses or china for tea and coffee. Very poor environmentally to use disposables. The air conditioning was turned off for the entire building, and the window in the room was permanently closed. ( Steel bracket screwed into the frame. ) Thus it was impossible to cool the room down. To top it off, the bedding was far too heavy and hot, almost impossible to sleep. Worse, the sheets were too undersized for the beds, you could not tuck the sheets in on the sides. Every time you turned over in bed, you ended up with a wrinkled sheet underneath you. A hotel that could be great, but is clearly run by either idiots, or total tightwads.

Excellent location and a friendly, helpful team!

Great location, very close to downtown Annecy, with underground parking that makes life easier. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful—from check-in to breakfast and dinner service very nice experience overall.

The hotel is very close to the train station. While you don’t hear the trains at night, in the morning you can sense the proximity. Still, it’s very convenient if you are a train traveler, it wasn’t my case.

Great place, perfect location, but train line underneath the hotel. Annecy as a town is stunning and this hotel was comfortable, clean and the restaurant was really nice.

I wasn’t aware of trains through the night but I did notice them late at night and early in the morning.

Excellent location. Next to bus station and ten minute walk to main town. Very friendly staff. Rooms were comfortable and reception area/bar area was nice place to relax. Breakfast outside on the terrace was very pleasant.

Room had view of train tracks and station. However we weren’t bothered by noise overnight.
