The view from the room, the nature.
No coffee machine in the room, no drinking water in the pool & close to the sauna, as for the walks around the hotel, they are not indicated, so we got lost twice, didn't even get to Domaine de Solvay.

Without doubt, the best thing about this hotel is the forest location.
Good size room with a wall of windows looking out through the trees 😊.
Use of pool and sauna (limited) included in room price.
Bar with snack platters open all day.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Ample free parking.
Water temperature in the shower was variable, but I'm being very picky here!

Nothing to dislike

Good business hotel with free parking. Location is excellent, good restaurant.
I don’t recommend using services of Spa Cinq Mondes. Overpriced with unappropriate customer care.

- beautiful location
- clean and very nice rooms
- incredible food at the restaurant
- great breakfast
- we ate several times at the restaurant and the service was unfortunately, the second evening, not that great.
Mistakes can happen, but I found it sad that there were no words of apology.
While placing the starter, a little bread with vegetables fell on the table and was left lying on the table, no offer of bringing a new one.
And while cleaning off the waiter dropped several knives and forks on my mother and didn’t even apologise. Nor ask if she got hurt or the clothes got stained.
The food itself was, however, fantastic ☺️ as was the service we had the first evening ☺️

The walk in the woods nearby was pleasant
This is a SPA hotel
And when you get there you are restricted to one hour in the pool / sauna area - and no where was this indicated on booking.com - and yes I took the picture to prove that
Whilst the coffee was good at breakfast the supposed hot food was cold!
In the restaurant the food was ok, more suited to bulk catering I think - and I didn’t get the wine that I ordered

The forest views of the rooms. We visited in May, you can open up the window and just sleep with the natural breeze and wake up to birds chirping.
Our room’s shower drain did not work properly, it took some time to drain the water.

My first stay (end of February) was exquisite, the service was great (reception, restaurant) and it wasn’t too crowded. The food at the restaurant was nice and the gym, pool and sauna services were nice experiences. The scenery and forest made it a nice place to reconnect to nature and walk.
Clean: the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable.
For easter: it was nice to receive a little packet of Easter eggs, although we received only one while there were two of us for the stay it was still a lovely and appreciated surprise.
Free access to the gym, pool, sauna and hammam.
Restaurant: the decor was lovely and there was even a pianist playing during my second stay. Food was nice however the menu options seemed limited and had few enticing healthy options from what I remember. I did enjoy the orders I made.
Massage: I also booked paid massages sessions at Cinq Mondes. The experience was nice. I booked it separately from my stay but it can be booked together. The available slots seem limited or go fast so I call recommend booking in advance.
Note on accessibility: Once I reached the address, I still had to drive a little before getting to the entrance gate. Hence, I would not recommend doing that distance by foot with luggages. It is preferable to go by car if you’re not from the area because it is very difficult to access via public transport and I saw in other comments that taxis were expensive.
There are a lot of parking spaces available.
I loved my first stay so much, I came back during Easter (End of March), however the service was unfortunately subpar during my second stay.
Dislikes:
- the fact that people who stayed at the hotel, had no lockers keys for the pool area. Hence, we were recommended to walk in bathroom robes from our room to the pool area which was uncomfortable at times especially since I had to take the lift, walk a few minutes and pass by the reception and entrance lounge and bar in my robe. I’d prefer having a locker.
- My first stay was wonderful. However my second stay was subpar due to the service. We constantly had to insist to get basic service such receiving explanations on our bill for the stay or accessing the restaurant. One server claimed it was full and that without reservation we were obliged to eat a buffet with very limited options. Were not informed that it was obliged to reserve during our arrival at the reception, one of the servers at the restaurant had us waiting aside for no apparent reason and refused to let us in although we came back with a reservation. After insisting he finally let us in to eat. It was a quiet unpleasant experience. After that, he tried to redeem himself explaining that the place was over crowed. Which was crowded but not full.
- during my second stay, the reception made some miscalculations and misinformed us on our package. We though we were being overpriced. They were unable to explain why we paid “too much”. One of the receptionist because rude stating we shouldn’t try to understand our bill. I later found out it was because out package included breakfast no one informed us so we didn’t have breakfast there. I might claim the amount back.
- hammam was broken during my first stay and people were not informed before and so ask before booking is that’s your selling point. The second stay it was functional, but there was a strange smell in the area.
Besides the hurdles during my second stay, the place is nice and I had a good time disconnecting. Hence, I might give it a third try before being able to fully recommend the place.

Great location, large and clean rooms. Great facilities.
Ridiculous cost for room service.

The indoor swimming pool was nice. It is not big but it is big enough to relax after a long day.

We liked the beds (even the sofa beds). The staff were friendly and professional. The area of the hotel is good for relaxation and exploration. The breakfast was good.
It wasn't the fault of the hotel but the road closures and construction really sucks. We have to do a lot of rerouting just to get around the area.

The Location in the Wilderness
Taxi fair to drive 5 mins down the road to my Belgium offices is extortionate - €60
Unfortunately taxi fares in La Hulpe are all extortionate - Hence, make sure you hire a car

Beautiful location and very comfortable. It was convenient for us as we had a wedding in La Hulpe.
Breakfast was good, with lots of variety.
It feels like a conference center, which is not as welcoming for leisure guests. The car park is also a bit of a walk from the rooms.
Felt a bit overpriced.

breakfast, natural park
few and unprofessional employees, cold temperature rooms, shower not working well, bicycles not working well(broke pièces), dirty entrance bathrooms, no indications in the park for the direction of the hotel, not available massage and no person to welcome you, in the spa she spoke to me eating, réception agreed for panorama view at 4th floor and I received card room at the 2nd floor with view on parking,. Very high prices for everything. the hotel is very large and the park is very beautiful, really big potential to be a perfect hotel for sport people.

The Gym facilities as part of the Gym and also the setting in the Wilderness
Taxis are not available in the area and have to be requested from Brussells and a TAXI for a 5 min journey costs approx. €50 Euros which is a criminal

Nice location in the forest, beautiful hotel and nicely decorated rooms. Nice pool and sauna/steam bath facility.
Staff is not what it used to be. Very poor service at the restaurant, the kind one expects at the market square, but not at all what one expects from such an expensive restaurant and hotel. Also, staff complaining about how busy the restaurant is, and thus slow service, while not even one third of the tables were occupied. Very disappointing.

Loved the location (barring journey there)
Events on for Easter, man in bunny costume brilliant for kids, bouncy castle.
Staff very friendly and accommodating
Pool nice size and temperature
Breakfast good
Good check out time good
Roadworks effected journey to location and autorouting on sat navs to hotel didn't take into account the roadworks, had to rely on a map, it was an old map of Europe, one from the dark ages and to be honest that also turned into a small nightmare with 2 screaming kids in the car. Not hotels fault, but just for others, be aware it's a bit out of the way especially with roadworks, so if you travel with kids pass them a sedative.
