A charming and peaceful stay in the heart of Ghent, with a wonderful host Dina and a stunning cathe

La Ducal Hotel in Ghent is perfectly located in the heart of the city, set inside a beautiful historic house full of charm. The atmosphere feels warm and authentic from the moment you arrive. Dina, the host, is truly wonderful $ incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything you need. One of the highlights is the stunning view from the balcony, where you can admire the cathedral right in front of you. It’s a peaceful and memorable place to stay, combining comfort, character, and an unbeatable location. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ghent.

We had a fantastic stay at La Ducale. Everything was excellent, and we will definitely return.

Very cozy room, tastefully decorated and with everything you need. Coffee is free and available at all times. The location is perfect, 3 minutes from the Cathedral and close to all tourist attractions, restaurants and shops. I highly recommend it. The price of the room is even low for what La Ducale offers.

Its called a B&B, but Breakfast is not included. This is false advertising in my opinion. And when I tried to book breakfast in advance it seemed to be too much trouble for them to offer it. CRAZY....

Best location, stylish and comfortable room, wonderful hostess !!!!

Great stay at La Ducale !!!!! ---- Location: I can't think of a better one !!! Right in the historic center and 3 min. walk from the Cathedral and all other attractions are so closeby to this church.... the easiest sighseeing ever !! Also, the property is a 20 min. pleasant tram ride from Sint Pieters train station and the tram stop of T1 tram is just 2 min. walk from it...Great bakery and pizzaria almost beside and other eating options nearby.... ----Staff : Mrs Dina, the owner, an adorable , geniously kind lady who seems to work hard to run the place, offered us a warm welcome together with information and guide book-map . The communication was great before arrival with prompt replies and clear info how to reach the propery....it was a pleasure meeting her !!! ----The room was clean, comfortable and very stylish, with authentic antique furniture, great decoration, very cosy and with character matching with the very charming building of the 18th century !!!!The interior , corridors and stairs to the rooms were also at the same style, matching to the so charming old building !!!! It was a very pleasant surprize entering the room because it was so more beautiful than in photos.....We loved it !!! ----Mini fridge, tea facilities, hairdryer, bathroom amenities in the room.... on the 2nd floor there is a common space with coffee making facilities for any time you wish... ----On 2nd floor there is also a common beautful veranda to use with lovely flowers overlooking the beautiful back area.... ----We had asked for a street view balcony and it was amazing !!! On 2nd floor, overlooking the wonderful street with beautiful old buildings, we enjoyed sitting and absorbing the view !!!! No noise at all at night !!! I beleive that the back side balconies are also pleasant since all around buildings are so nice !! ----Best value for money !!!! in an expensive city , this price considering the unbeatable location and all the above was great for us...

Since it is an old building there might be some little details to get improved but considering all the above advantages i can't let them spoil my total experience......i can't understand people complaining about e.g. the stairs....we can't expect elevators in an old building and we know that before we book....

Lovely independent B&B with good facilities in the center of Ghent

The films are lovingly put together and prepared nicely. They have an individual touch and are comfortable.

Because it is an old building, there is little to no soundproofing, so when the person in the room above gets up, you will be woken up too. Again, because this is an old building: there is no lift and the staircase is pretty steep, so be aware that you’ll have to carry your suitcase up some steep flights of steps!

Perfect location and nice accommodation.

The hostess was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and tidy and had all necessary comforts, such as towels and shampoo, as well as a mini fridge. The location was perfect, since I was visiting the University and the building was only a 15 minute walk away. The area is lively and has ample of places to sit down for coffee, tea or a drink in the afternoon.

The building is obviously quite old and smelt accordingly - of mice and old fabric. However, with such an accommodation that is unavoidable.

Lovely place to stay in a great location.

Location is fantastic and very easy to reach. The room had a lovely balcony we could sit out in and relax, surrounded by flowers; a really thoughtful touch. Dina was lovely and couldn't be more helpful. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but enjoyed both the bakery down the street and the cafe on the corner.

We were unlucky in that the room above ours was playing music late into the night, but that could happen anywhere.

We could make coffee in the morning for free in the breakfast room and drink it with a nice view from the balcony looking to the cathedral.We hadn’t everything we needed for 4 days.Dina is extremely friendly and welcoming. Our room was very clean and tastefully decorated. I was impressed by the original paintings everywhere in the house, probably the owner loves the art. Very central location, 200 meters from St. Baats Cathedral. Coffe for free is in the breakfast room. We didn't book breakfast room, we choose to eat croissants in The Bakery, 3 houses from La Ducale. We are very satisfied. Everythink was perfect. Dina told us that she keeps prices at the level of low budget hotels. What we received and comparing to our other trips, La Ducale deserves a higher price. Thanks Dina for everythink!

This little private hotel is run by a nice lady that tries her best for the guests. I liked the authentic vibe and charm of the historical building, attention to details of the host and excellent location. Communication was quick and easy.

The room was very clean and quiet, good location in the centre of the town.

The accomodation is very modest. So the balance between price and quality is not OK. 103 EUR is too much for that accomodation (and this without breakfast). I would suggest 80 or 90 EUR as a fair price.

This is a cute hidden gem of a hotel. Very central location, everything was walkable! Dina is so so nice and helpful. She gave us a whole list of places to check out! The bathtub is very nice and clean. And there was a balcony!

Location is central, all the tourist attractions within walkable distance. Check out at 11 is a bit too early.

Location is far away from the railway station difficult to locate for the novice. Room size is small, needs more furniture & space to keep luggage. Check in at 3.00pm is late. However that's the practise all over Europe, it seems.

perfect location to visit the citiy center

The location is perfect, right in the center of Gent. The cosy room was under the roof (yes, there are a few stairs to climb, but that was okay for me) with a little balcony, pretty quite even with the window open. Good alternative to the more expensive hotels in the area. I did not book any breakfast, so there was no breakfast - good to know. There are some cafes in the are that can be utilized to get your morning coffee.

Perfect for a night's stay

The location of the hotel was very good, in the city centre, but also without having noise troubles. There was no breakfast provided to us. We saw coffee and tea around but we did not have breakfast there. The hotel is unique as it is an old mansion renovated to serve as a hotel. I would recommend it for a night's stay.

Quite old inside. It is an old mansion, but I would expect it to be more modern inside. Other than that, everything was fine.
