Charming old building on the hills looking over Salzburg, some 20 minutes drive to the center. Rooms are modern and spacious, very clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast, with the restaurant serving delicious Austrian meals in the evening.

Many stairs, if you are with kids be aware - not a big deal. The temp of the room is defined at the reception - can't do it by yourself within the room - find it a bit odd.

Beautiful, comfortable alpine lodge with spectacular views

This is a beautiful alpine lodge hotel in the hills above Salzburg. Spectacular views across to the alps and Salzburg itself and pristine garden area alongside resident goats and chickens. It's really comfortable and welcoming, the staff were very helpful. Our room was on the ground floor with a door into the little garden which was lovely. A really clean and spacious room with a very comfy bed and great shower. We had our dog with us and so ate breakfast in the bar area which has a cosy alpine feel, it was lovely he could come with us to breakfast and everything was fresh and delicious. We didn't use the spa and pool as we had only one night and the weather wasn't great. There's a bus about every hour or so into Salzburg and the bus stop is a few steps from the hotel entrance. The bus stops running about 7.30pm, so we took a cab which took about 20 minutes into the city centre (approx €35). I'd love to go back and spend more time there.

Superb location and the team are so friendly.

No tea/coffee making facilities or an iron. Coming from the UK these are considered standard items.

room was large and comfortable, with free minibar and easy access from outside for the dog. Beautiful countryside for dog walks and the view of Salzburg. Excellent food

We could not use the pool as the weather was very bad and the swimming pool is not heated. Otherwise perfect place to stay for a weekend or a short trip

Lovely and idyllic hotel for a family of four visiting Salzburg

The restaurant at the hotel is awesome! Both breakfast and dinner are excellent. We also enjoyed the amazing spa facilities downstairs as well as the 9 pin bowling alley. There are also fun touches like board games, or giving the kids coloring pencils during dinner. Our family really enjoyed our stay and would love to return and try more dishes at the restaurant.

For some reason our room in the corner was warmer than the rest of the hotel, even if it was cool outside. Opening the windows helped, but then mosquitos could come in...The Internet was passable but could be slow at times. Still, we were able to have a business video conferencing call with someone in California that was smooth enough.

The breakfast was exceptional and the room was huge. The staff was extremely helpful and go the extra mile to ensure that our needs are met. The Restaurant was awesome and the food was fabulous we had 2 nights of dinner there.

This place is magical and the staff is incredibly helpful. Clean, traditional longer with modern rooms. We only hope we can visit again!

Great choice and would recommend it to friends

Breakfast was super and the staff very friendly & helpful. Location was great and easily accessible into Salzburg.We were given a gift of home made marmalade on departure- which was a nice touch.

A lift would have been useful but the style of the building didn’t allow for it- and we managed ok anyway.

Gorgeous location, outstanding meals

The views across Salzburg and the alps from the Gasthof garden and surrounds were fantastic. There is a wonderful beer garden with stunning views and the restaurant has a Michelin star (the meals and service warranted that rating). Very comfortable, clean and spacious room with a small balcony and views of the forest. The restaurant, service desk and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. We had a delightful stay (4 days) and would happily stay again. Do note that there are a lot of stairs, but the staff readily offered assistance if you need it.

Best mountain views at a clean friendly hotel/resort.

This hotel exceeded all of my expectations! The staff and chef were so friendly. The room was clean and made up for three guests as it stated on my reservation. The views from the rooms to the alps was unbeatable. And to top it all off the dinner we had was definitely one of the best on the trip! You are ~25 minutes from the town of Salzburg which could be looked as a downfall but to get these type of views on the mountain is totally worth it to me.

The hotel is in a beautiful natural environment, it is peaceful and quiet, only the chirping of birds can be heard. The staff is extremely friendly and we had the pleasure of having breakfast together with our dog at a table set up in the pleasant lobby. Excellent breakfast. We will definitely come again.

Wonderful hotel! The beautiful views are the main attraction here, so be sure to get a balcony room facing the city. Rooms are impeccably clean. Water pressure and temperature are fantastic. Parking is plentiful with easy access. Staff is very nice!

It would be nice to have beds separated as twin option instead of on one frame. There is alot of a noise that carries late in evening when folks hang out in area in front of property - this is not the hotel's fault, but some signs to keep please quiet after 10 pm and before 9 am would be useful.

Awkward steps and stairs made wheelchair access difficult - but the management and staff made it as easy as possible by allowing use of fire door entry and access.
