Comfortable hotel, friendly staff in a fabulous location

This hotel is right in the heart of the old town on one side and the banks of the river on the other. Both the reception staff and the bar / restaurant staff were very friendly and very helpful. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The staff were good enough to upgrade us on our return visit 2 weeks after out initial stay.

An incident with the staff member and the way it was handled ruined what was otherwise a lovely

Lovely hotel, great location

Specific staff member was very rude, swearing and accusing us of being drunk. When reported the Manager took the side of the staff and was unhelpful, until he was asked to look at the CCTV to see what actually happened and the circumstance.

Bad cleaning

The sheets on both single beds were dirty and full of hairs, which obviously indicates about not changing the sheets from previous guests. The bathtub was full of hairs which was discussing and overall dusty room that hasn’t been cleaned properly for a while. I spoke to a team member at the reception the next day after sleeping like that for one night, specifically asked to clean and handle the situation. They only apologized and didn’t compensate in anything which I think I required for such incident. In the evening, when we came back, my friends bed was clean and mine was replaced with another dirty set of sheets. Very disappointing and not respectful.

Great location, staff, great bathrooms and room, breakfast excellent and lots of choice.

I stayed with my sister in a twin room and the beds were very very narrow - it took a couple of nights to get used to them and feel you weren’t going to fall out of bed when you turned over!

Fabulous stay in a great location.

The location, in the Altstadt ("old town"), was fabulous. Within a few metres of the hotel's rear entrance, you were in the shopping district and the main Christmas Market was only 200 metres away, which was fabulous. There were also plenty of cafés and restaurants in the vicinity and even an ice rick.

The food menu in the hotel was rather limited and we chose to eat out, rather than in the hotel. The TV service in the hotel was rather limited in terms of English-speaking channels. In the evening, we could only find BBC News, CNN, Al Jazeera and Bloomberg TV, which were hardly entertaining.

Extraordinary - We will be visiting again!

The location is outstanding - in the heart of historic Salzburg, and a literal stone’s throw from the city’s main Christmas market. The entire staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, comfortable and pampered. Breakfast was outstanding!!

Exceptional location and conversion of old building into a hotel

Unbelievable location right in old town. Wonderful views from breakfast room across the river Staff at breakfast and cafe were very friendly and exceptionally helpful.

Very outdated bathroom which made it difficult to shower. Quite disappointing for the rate we paid and had paid all over Europe with other bookings through booking.com as we journeyed by train for a month.

Great area to stay and easy access to old town

Position was outstanding -back door led to best street in the old town… easy to come an go for a coffee or meal and great when you want to drop off shopping bags. Room overlooking the river was large and bathroom was also larger than normal bathrooms.

Soulless reception area and restaurant. Needs a softer touch as seemed to be bland but that could be because it’s owned by a chain hotel.

Terrible service and disgusting room

The location is fantastic..right at the heart of the old town..

I stayed at Raddison Blu for 1 night as transit before my flight. As soon as I arrived, I was greet by 3 people at counter and none of them act as they have been trained. They are not rude but neither professional. For example, they gave me my room key and 1 mins later took them back and said oh my room not ready.. and then one of them asked me if this is my first time in salzburg and when say yes..that's it..no other information given..nothing at all...and 3 of the person given mixed information like the breakfast is 32 euro and the other guy said 24 euro..none of them seems to be professional or even be trained to be at reception. When I asked for a map.the young person gave me the map and just circle out the hotel. No other information. I am well aware that I could get info from the Google but based on my personal experience at various hotels...this is the worse..all of them seems not motivated at all to greet the guest.. now here come the nightmare..I was having migraines and not feeling well and my main goal is to sleep and rest comfortably..but the room itself is dirty and not well keep! I stayed at room 411...the toilet is disgusting..and the shower drainage seems a problem as the water doesn't go down for 5 mins..afterwards I would like to get some hot water for my medicine..and guess what the water heater doesn't even work..I had to use the coffee machine to get the hot water.. I know the whole property is old building but there's a huge difference between old buildings and not maintained! At first I am planning to contact the reception and would like to change room, but thinking again about how they acted when I arrived and as solo female traveller, I decided not to reach out to them as I dont feel safe enough and I doubt they can do anything. And the nightmare continues.i could not even have a good sleep, since everytime the other rooms using toilet or bathroom the water sound/plumbing making loud noises..

Steps to everything, and yet so quiet

Location is unbelievable. In the middle of the old town, yet very quiet. The walls seemed very thick (old style) and the windows were triple glazed. Even though we could look out the window to a busy pedestrian zone, it was absolutely silent in the room.

Older style bathroom, but we didn't care, we knew it was an old building and the location more than made up for it. It's not great for people with mobility needs. A lot of steps from the car to reception, although we were offered the staff/goods lift with the stroller, it wasn't the easiest way in. The bar area was too quiet but I just went elsewhere for conviviality. Otherwise nothing to fault.

Old world charm with modern conveniences

We had a superior double room that looked out over the cobble streets of the Altstadt. The room itself was quiet, huge and had excellent air conditioning - just as well as we were there during a heatwave - the bed and pillows were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and well appointed. The hotel was in the best location possible. Mozartplatz was just around the corner and it was - 5 mins walk from the cathedral and Getreidegasse and 7 mins to the funicular to the Festung. Can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't try it (it seemed rather expensive) but there were two excellent options on Mozart Platz (Cafe Glockenspiel and MUS Cafe), as well as a good breakfast served at the Tomasselli cafe (Oldest cafe in Salzburg) on the Alter Markt.

This not not impact the enjoyment of our stay but a point worth noting is that there were no English language channels other than news channels, and as the TV was rather old, there was no possibility to connect up access to any streaming services via Chromecast or Firestick.

Location is awesome - right on the square! Front desk staff very polite and helpful Room allocated to us was huge and overlooking the water - loved it!

Pleasant stay

Next to old town and - in my case - although to my meeting place. The hotel is old and it makes stay charming. Room was clean and large enough. Breakfast was very good, while at the same time I was expecting little more e.g. fresh juice.

Hotel has no parking place, so payable parking is available in the vicinity. All the rest was ok.

A comfortable, pleasant, and hassle-free stay.

The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they shared great tips and suggestions about the city. The location was perfect — right in the old town, so we could walk everywhere easily. Our room was very spacious and thoughtfully arranged, even with a small work area. We really appreciated the complimentary water and little chocolates. The decoration was also lovely. The restaurant was great too — the staff were kind and attentive, and everything was fresh and high quality. We were truly very satisfied with our stay :)
