Old fashioned charm. Quiet location. Wonderful staff, very friendly and welcoming. Delicious dinner, and good selection of continental breakfast. We enjoyed a swim in the pool. Highly recommend this hotel.
Beds were fine for one night but mattresses not very comfortable.

The hotel is absolutely spotless throughout. The staff are friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel is maintained very well and updated where possible such as mobile phone charging ports in some rooms, large shower heads and nice bed covers. The hotel itself is very traditional such as dark wooden furniture.
Good price and nice mountainside location.
We were able to drive to the Luge up the hill and to a great Lido 15 minutes drive away called Lido di Gozzano beach which was amazing for lake swimming and has a stunning restaurant with pizzas £8 and fabulous drinks where you can sit with beautiful lakeside views fully covered if it rains.

The location is so peaceful but because it is 911m high you can see planes landing and taking off from Milan Malpensa airport and not hear the planes. The breakfast is included.
There is a pool but given the hotels altitude, and that while the sun is quite strong it is Northern Italy they should utilise solar power water heaters. As the pool was quite cold for families.
Also the hotel should install relatively cheap WAP Internet access points for international travellers who need Wifi

Very pleasant. Family run, very nice people. Old fashioned, simple. High in the mountains, not overlooking the lake. Good food. Half the rooms have a terrace balcony and its worth getting those. We really enjoyed it
Nothing bad

Old hotel , a little worn& torn but a lot of charm! No luxury by any means but the building and the location is very nice. Staff is nice & friendly
Nothing really to complain about, maybe breakfast could be improved a littlebit

The location was half way up a a mountain, with some great views and wonderful walks around the area. It is a very busy noisey, family and kids- friendly hotel, including dogs. The swimming pool is smal but enjoyable.
The manager was very attentive to our needs, and we were given a fridge, which some rooms don't have.
Breakfast had good choices, and the evening menu was limited, but okay.
We should have done some research beforehand... this is a popular road route for motor bikes and bikers, and every Saturday and Sunday they roar up the road all day, hundreds every minute!! You don't come here for peace and quiet!!
The rooms are basic... to the point of being almost monastic. Old, traditional Italian style, heavy brown furniture. No. aircon, and tiles everywhere. which makes for noise at all hours of the day. (Particularly when people come in late at night). Beds and pillows hard, so difficult to sleep.

The location is very good, with phantastic views into the distance, Good trails for walking or biking. The Mottarone montain is another 15 min by car up the road. Nice terrace to sit outside at good weather. Good breakfast. Very nice and efficient crew there. Parking directly at the hotel
Needs a car or motorbike to get there.

This is a beautiful small hotel, near the top of a mountain with a spectacular view. The staff was excellent, and the room was very comfortable with a balcony and a mountain view. I enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant and the staff made me a breakfast "to go" because I had to leave early in the morning to catch my flight. I am so happy to have found this place and look forward to coming back another time.

The staff is super friendly, very kind and extremely helpful. The location is perfect if you want something in the hills that is not too far away from San Giulio. Great value for money. Breakfast is simple but there's something for everybody! We even had dinner at the restaurant one evening and it was PERFECTION! The rooms are clean, the furniture is rustic and made of wood, the shower and wash basin are new. Charming! What more can you ask for!
Added bonus: Apparently there are adventure parks close by, we didn't visit them though. Great place for cyclists as well, we saw a few come in for a coffee half way into their ride :)
Wifi could have been a bit faster.

This was a lovely location up in the mountains but near to Lake Orta. A windy road to get there, but fine in a car - although some cyclist also were seen. A festival was taking place the evening we arrived and on the following day, but we were not disturbed by noise as our room faced the back of the hotel. Additional parking was provided in the field opposite the hotel. It was interesting to see the festival and local stalls. There was a lovely smell in the hotel, perhaps from the wood. The furniture was unusual and intriguing.
The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English as well as a variety of other languages. The food was amazing, particularly the green beans, as well as the tiramisu.
We would have liked to have tried the pool, but our time was a bit too limited. It was available at any time though.

The receptionist was polite and responsive within minutes. She answered all the questions and was kind to provide some hot water as it was quite chill.
The parking space is convenient and the view is pretty. Despite it being a rather antique place with a history, everything was clean and aligned. Hot shower, white linen, soft towels. Breakfast is sufficient for a good hike afterwards. We appreciated the whole grain bread and fruit. Also, separate thanks for yogurt - it tasted like home (we grew up on a farm). I can even imagine a big family celebration in one of the salas of the property!
Unstable wifi and low temperatures in the room. Wifi was working several hours at night though and after hot shower it wasn’t as cold. It is proven to sleep better is colder temp. Wifi was good at the reception - sufficient for uploading pictures and planning the route for the next day.

The hotel was quiet and the terrace area cozy. In the evening, we planned to go to a nearby town for the dinner, but the hotel's restaurant took the win. Easy and relaxed!
Our child thought the best was the swimming pool! It was also easy to drive to Mottarone mountain from the hotel.
Gluten-free bread would have been nice for breakfast. Now there were only sweet options. I had announced the diet in advance.

Internet was none existent, hair drier in room would be nice. More chairs around pool.

Peace and quiet at Hotel Madonna Luciago, and especially fresh air to escape the heat of the summer. Simple hotel with an old-style look but comfortable beds, extremely nice and helpful staff. Breakfast and meals can be taken outside, under sun shades. Nice little swimming pool (but tested only at the end of the day, when no one else was around). Good location, away from touristy areas, but still close to the lakes. Good value.
Unfortunately I was not there on holiday mode yet, still had some work to do, so the poor wifi connection was a definite minus. Probably not important if I were not there with remote working to do, but on a real holiday.

we loved the peace and quiet in the mountains, however it was not far to travel into Lake Orta. The staff were amazing and very friendly, we had a wedding to go to one day and they arranged for a staff member to drop us off and also pick us up late in the evening, this service was very much appreciated. breakfast was delicious and the food from the restaurant was very good also. we would certainly stay again!

Excellent breakfast and very kind staff, I do recommend absolutely. A bit far from town though, better to join the place in the evening after dinner or have dinner (very good) at the hotel restaurant.
