Magic stay

Fantastic hospitality, we were very very impressed- it made us feel like home! From the first second we entered the hotel and had check in, very thoughtful caring gesture with the snacks and drinks in the room, the selection of the aromatic soap and the amenities in the bathroom to the real down duck duvet in the bedroom, variety of delicious food at the breakfast, everything was top quality and very caring about the guests! We were even given free parking space in the underground garage! So so thoughtful and caring, thank you so much for your incredible hospitality!

A wonderful hotel with amazing staff and a 5 star breakfast.

The staff at Hotel Garbo Santa Catarina were amazing, giving advice on where to visit and going above and behind to make are stay perfect. The breakfast was wonderful. We also visited the restaurant connected with the hotel which was very pleasant.

Great place with all you need, comfortable

very comfortable, great beds, good paid parking. Quiet, lovely garden, walkable into the village or Sacre Monte, if you are somewhat fit.

should explain the parking access for when you arrive. you can’t access it without a card, and you can’t comfortably stay on the road for check in since it’s busy and narrow.

Best staff, immaculate, lovely balcony

The staff- just so nice and helpful. Helped reserve a cab for an early departure, and when bemoaning the lack of available fruit gave me an orange. The best! They knew about the town, where to rent bikes, best routes etc. So helpful. My room had a lovely balcony and was spacious. Everything so clean and nice- made it a joy. So quiet, you can sleep with the French doors open and only hear church bells. Wonderful stay

I was surprised that they had no wine opener! Its Italy! They do not sell wine/beer (no doubt rules on that) and there is only a pub (closed on Wednesday I found out to my dismay) close. I think if you have a car it would be a fabulous location. Coming by train it was a bit more restrictive in terms of dining or finding fruit.

Shame about one lazy member of staff

Woman in the breakfast room was ignorant and unhelpful. Too busy chatting to other guests to do her job. Shame really as the hotel had lots good about it. The other girl on reception was really friendly and helpful.

Good overnight stay

Exceptionally clean room, with a very comfortable bed. Balcony looking towards the lake. Very friendly and helpful staff. Secure basement parking (must book in advance). Dog friendly, with easy access to walk the dog up a track. Easy access to lake.

Essential to book their basement parking, if you want to avoid negotiating the front door, which opens directly onto a relatively busy road.

Superb

Room was very clean and the staff were very friendly. We arrived before midday and found the doors to be locked but after a phone call someone (Eliana ?) let us in and allowed us to leave our bags until we could check in at 3pm. She was very helpful when checking us in and out and gave us some info on the local area.

No air conditioning in the rooms and could have done with additional pillows!

Fabulous stay, the receptionist was super helpful, receiving us at a late hour and making our stay very relaxing. Beautiful hotel, fantastic team and the best possible location for trips to Orta, the lake and wider environment. Tip: fantastic restaurants nearby as well!

A lovely place to be in Orta

The hotel was surprisingly excellent in so many ways - location is easily accessible, very friendly and courteous staff, lovely breakfast, beautiful, comfortable room with very a peaceful view! I love everything about this place. Highly recommended.

A pleasant & welcoming little hotel. All in all, good value for money.

The hotel is well situated about 15 minutes walk from the town centre. There is adequate parking either, at extra cost, in the underground garage or free in a nearby car park. Our room was clean & well appointed & the bed comfortable. Bed linen was changed daily. The bathroom was modern & the water temperature & pressure of the shower was perfect. Our room had a small balcony which caught the afternoon sun. The breakfasts were excellent with a variety of fresh local produce served each day. The staff were very friendly & helpful at all times. Most spoke English to an adequate standard.

We visited pre-season and the weather was unusually cold. The heating struggled at times to keep the room at a comfortable temperature overnight. However, I‘m sure this would not be an issue under normal circumstances.

The Decor is terrible. the rooms were all tiled (like a bathroom). Bed covers were very old.

nice surprise for breakfast was the fruit: grapefruit juice, pealed pears, kiwi, mango. I did not try coffee nor cappuccino. limited salt selection and I did not find fresh croissants or similar. Breakfast is the part of the overall stay. Room and bath clean with large and hot shower

10 EUR for the parking is somehow high. Holes in the towels. almost no working channels on tv

Praticamente tutto: posizione molto comoda, all'ingresso proprio di Orta. Centro raggiungibile in 15/20minuti a piedi. Stanza matrimoniale Superior mto carina con giardino a disposizione. Prodotti minibar gratuiti, non da tutti!!

Se proprio devo cercare il cosiddetto "pelo nell'uovo" : non guasterebbe uno specchio in più (c'è solo quello del bagno) e la temperatura della stanza è del bagno soprattutto... Ma basta abbassarlo...
