Charming old property in the centre of the village. Lovely breakfast on the roof terrace. Comfortable bed. Well equipped bathroom. Welcoming staff. Great location. Pretty rooms.
Rooms were very compact and little space to unpack. Aircon was a wall unit and we found it quite dehydrating (but it was absolutely necessary in the middle of August). Just be aware that you need to park in a public car park and walk into the village (about 5-10 minutes) although I think there is a closer option for unpacking; no great drama but tiring in the heat.

Hotel is in a great location in the middle of Orta, staff were friendly and the breakfast was delicious - once we ate on the terrace and once in a lovely dining room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was small but smart with a good shower. The hotel is dog friendly
The bedroom was small and dark and was very overlooked by the property opposite and the only view was a brick wall. The room was roasting hot as there was no aircon. Not the fault of the hotel but building work in a nearby building was very noisy. Parking is tricky - bags can be unloaded in a carpark near the hotel - although there is a 30 minute limit and even this carpark involves steep slopes, steps and cobbles which isn't easy with suitcases.
