Fantastic, romantic stay in a beautiful location.

View of the lake from the room was exceptional. Staff were friendly. Room was clean and had all the basics. Lots of TV channels for all languages. Decent WiFi and a decent breakfast. Private beach. Hotel has lots of character.

Could've been more shampoo/conditioner options. Breakfast could have been replenished more but nothing really to complain about.

Such a beautiful Hotel with a lot of history. The view was spectacular and I would return for sure.

It was a charming and memorable stay full of character and stunning views!

The hotel has a charming old-fashioned character that feels truly authentic to the location! The surrounding garden is beautiful and the view from the balcony is simply out of this world. The room was spacious, spotless and impressively well-maintained, preserving its original decor in the most elegant way. Staying here felt like stepping into a time capsule — in the best possible sense.

It’s not something we particularly disliked, but it’s worth mentioning a few things for future guests. The hotel is located right on the main road, so there can be some traffic noise. If you plan to walk to either Stresa or Baveno, be aware that part of the route doesn’t have a pedestrian walkway. The mattress could use an update — we both woke up with a bit of a stiff neck. Breakfast could also be improved with fresher options, as we noticed a few items that didn’t seem very fresh.

Enchanting hotel on Lake Maggiore

The hotel was absolutely charming and perfectly situated right on the side of Lake Maggiore. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the lake. The hotel owner is very friendly and informative about the local area, and the buffet breakfast had plenty of options, which was good for me as I have a number of dietary requirements.

There wasn't really anything I didn't like. The bedrooms are basic, and if I need to note anything, I would say they could do with an update but have a good size bathroom with a shower. The hotel has a good-sized car park but it is situated on the other side of the road opposite the hotel...be warned that the road in front of the hotel is very busy at times but this isn't particularly noticeable in the bedrooms .

Amazing view to the lake!!! We ordered 2 bedrooms and received a lovely large 2 bedrooms suite, large bathroom, balcony. Beautiful gardens.

There is a busy road between the hotel and the parking plus the beach. Crossing is dangerous.

Great location with big parking, beautiful gardens and a terrace next to the lake, with direct view on the Stresa islands. Illuminated exterior table next to the lake. Big room (we stayed in the main villa, room 13), with a lot of space and a big balcony. Good breakfast. Very amicable hotel owner!

The Villa is amazing old building, very comfortable, clean and cosy. The view from the balcony and the garden to the Boromeo islands was really beautiful! It has private parking place in front if the building. The staff was really kind and helpful with all the questions of the guests. Surely I would come back again.

The view is worth a 1000 words

Excelent host and personnel, beautiful garden and superb view of Lake Maggiore; there's a stream flowing beneath the hotel (hence the name Ruscello - small river), which then emerges through a beautiful cascade before finally meeting the lake.

A little bit noisy - being so close to the lake, the hotel is also close to the main road (which passes between the buildings and the lake's shore) - a very small price to pay for such a view.

The room was basic & smelly. No tea making facility. A lot of steps to get access to hotel & the room. The road in front of the hotel was extremely busy & hard to cross. The car park over the road was a nightmare to cross & access

This made the car park hard to access & getting out of the car park was also dangerous. We booked a 3 night stay but on seeing the accommodation refused to stay. The hotel refused to give any refund for any part of the stay but the facilities were so poor we left anyway & found a lovely apartment Maria villa. Which was clean & lovely & similar price

The hotel is located on the shore of Lake Maggiore and you could not get a better view over the lake and islands from the balcony. The room was basic but had everything you need for a good nights sleep and was spotlessly clean. Did I mention the view from the balcony, amazing. The hotel has a waterfall running through it and has gardens and a terrace to sit out. The breakfast was exceptional and had a great choice, the staff were very friendly and theres free parking in the hotels secure parking. Situated between Stresa and Baveno and ideal to visit both towns.

The view was fabulous, the 2 bedroom suite that we shared with our friends was excellent - clean and comfortable., and the bathroom was enormous. The breakfast was very good with very friendly and helpful staff.

When we booked through Booking.com the hotel was described as having a bar and snack bar. It had neither!! However, wine was available to take our room.
