Forget about the apartments, get a standard room with lake view!

The location is great with lake view from the rooms in front of the hotel

The apartment was old, ugly, poorly decorated and there were two dirty armchairs in the bedroom. The apartment had a poor lake view too. I complained twice until they decided to put me in a standard room with lake view for the second night which is great (Room 25). Never, ever rent the apartment!

Lovely hotel . 16 min walk into the centre of Stresa. Really friendly staff . Room was clean and air con worked . Pool area was really nice as well

Just a minor one. There is no tea and coffee making facilities in the room . Apparently you get it in some rooms but you pay a lot more for those. Doesn't seem particularly fair .

A fantastic 3 day stay.

A great 3 day stay here. A warm friendly welcome and shown to our room on arrival. Room 26 was lovely as we could sit out on our balcony in the shade in the morning drinking our coffee, then sip a wine in the warm evening sun. The breakfast each day was great with fresh products available and lovely scrambled eggs. Sitting outside was a great start to the day. The pool area is lovely. Sitting by the pool bar and then a dip in the pool was really relaxing. This hotel is highly recommended as its has a chillaxing vibe about it and only 15 minutes walk to the centre of town

Too expensive for what it is.

Pool is very big and clean, enough sunbeds and nice towels. Drinks by the pool are nice and direct access to a bathroom. Location is convenient, parking is good and the gardens are beautiful.

Mattress toppers were shorter than the mattress. A total of 9 kids played, jumped with their toy water guns and inflatables from 9-15, however when I jumped in the pool afterwards, it was suddenly not allowed. Minibar did not work, when we asked the reception, the staff said they dont know how to fix it. So in 30 degrees we had to drink warm water in the hotel. Breakfast was a disappointment, coffee machine did not work.

Amazing place for a short visit

The accommodation is located about 10-15 minutes' walk from the train station in the immediate vicinity of Lake Maggiore. I received a very warm welcome at reception. The room is easily accessible via an elevator and offers everything you need. The bathroom is very modern and appears to have been recently renovated. Behind the house is the pool with its own pool bar. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and left nothing to be desired. It's worth planning some time here. The center of Stresa can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes directly along the lake. There is also the trattoria "La Botte", which I definitely recommend.

Great customer service

Our stay at La Fontana Hotel was absolutely lovely. Annalisa at reception was very helpful. She was able to book our reservations at restaurants and was even able to make a reservation at the hairdresser’s of our choice. Breakfast was delicious, including fresh fruit and pastries in addition to bacon and eggs, etc. They also had umbrellas for us to borrow. The room was on the top floor (two rooms ) with a view of the lake. Elevator, of course.

A modern hotel with plenty of space and a great breakfast.

A very well maintained hotel which offers an excellent breakfast and very comfortable surroundings. La Fontana is well situated, being just 15 mins from the restaurants and 10 mins from the ferry service to the islands. Excellent swimming pool and family friendly ambiance without screaming kids. The hotel parking is free and quite large. Good wifi.

Good breakfast, lovely vintage sitting/breakfast room and bar. We sometimes came home after dinner and asked for drinks at the bar and the staff were very friendly.

Room 23 has an exceptionally small bathroom, making it difficult to dry off after a shower.

Loudest Ever

Lovely large balcony and view of the lake. However the sun did not reach our balcony for most of the day and the busy road right in front of the hotel made relaxing on the balcony difficult. Breakfast was good. Pool area looked lovely although we visited too early in the season to make use of it.

Zero sound insulation - loudest hotel ever experienced. We could hear doors opening, phones ringing and people moving around from every floor. The road outside is very loud. There was also a light in the corridor that was on all night and a gap under the door, so the room was illuminated all night.
