Idyllic

The view from the room and terrace is unbeatable. We would have loved to stay longer here to enjoy the delightful town of Stresa and spend more time visiting the other towns on Lake Maggiore, however, we had a fabulous weekend visiting the gems: Isola Bella and Isola Madre. The staff at this hotel were very attentive and kind.

The lift needs to be renovated - too scary for a claustrophobe and too old. The kitchen doors and air conditioner could be modernised.

A beautiful location with a lovely garden that overlooks the lake.

A perfect location for exploring the area. Extremely helpful staff. Great spot for happy hour drinks at the end of a long day. Rooms are spacious and include a small kitchenette and balcony overlooking the lake. Good breakfast, even for the lower 5 euro option.

Another Perfect Stay at La Luna!

La Luna is our favourite hotel. Had a wonderful stay again. Loved everything...the room and facilities, the lake view, huge terrace and the La Luna team...all perfect. Liked having the use of the kitchen with kettle, microwave, cooktop, minifridge. Bathrobes were very nice. And thank you La Luna for the welcome box of local goodies.. Having the rooms done every 2 days is a lovely system.

Would have liked the towel heater to be a bit warmer...and maybe have a small table in the room...although we brought the outside table inside for our week stay so we could sit for our meals.

Terrible Room layout. Tiny bathroom. Very tiny shower. High ceiling rack -12 ft - meant we had to hang close on door handle. Our room had a kitchen with a board blocking the range and sink. Poorly Lit. Everything in the facility was at least 20 or 40 years old.. peeling paint, old bathroom fixtures, etc

Outstanding Facilities, Staff, and Location

Fabulous facilities, location, and staff—so helpful and kind. Sitting on huge private patio and the views of the mountains and lake are fascinating. Stresa is very quiet overnight, so we slept great with windows open. You have the best views of the waterfront and the main square is just 3-4 minutes walk with a lot of delicious food options.

Location, Large Suite with a view and large patio, Hospitable staff, Tasty breakfast

We had a luxurious lake-front suite with a huge patio with a hammock, loungers and table. A comfortable living room, a kitchenette and two closets. They left us some bottled water which they replaced. Loved having the refrigerator. We knew what to expect given the reviews, detailed pictures etc. Yet it's another thing to walk in and take it in (a great thing). The European Breakfast for 5 francs is a real deal. Plenty to eat and great espressos. Right on the edge of old town. The staff, as all the other reviews have said, were wonderful.

We liked having a kettle in the room - a little tea or coffee would have made it even more special and something I have come to expect in a suite such as this.

The LOCATION! The STAFF! The VIEW! The STAFF! The BREAKFAST! The STAFF! EVERYTHING!!!!

I loved everything about this property! I had read reviews before booking about how amazing the staff was. They nailed it! Caterina, Alesia and Elena were so welcoming and helpful! I wish I could have this dream team at every vacation home in the future! We had six mostly rainy days in Stresa and they conveyed only sunshine! We were accommodated in every way. If we are ever back in Stresa, this is the only place we will stay. Sorry, there is absolutely nothing negative to say about this property.

A beautiful break in the lakes

Our suite was large, bright & comfy, our terrace had a wonderful view of the lake & mountains & we could have spent all day watching the scenery. It was great to wake up & look at the lake from our beds. Breakfast was lovely, we had the cosy breakfast for 1 on our first morning but opted for the Italian breakfast for the remainder of our stay, which was lovely, fresh croissants & pastries & fresh orange juice which we enjoyed popping into the juicer. Alessia, Caterina & Elena worked hard making us feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble & they were all so friendly. Caterina worked hard booking our train tickets for the Centrovalle Railway, which wasn’t easy to do & a big thank you to her for all her efforts, we had a great time & would recommend this trip. Thank you for a truly memorable stay, both mum & I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The hotel Residense La Luna nel Porto provided us with a delightful venue to enjoy Stresa.

We particularly liked the venue, view over the lake with the Alpine alps in the distance. The staff were friendly and helpful and provided us with a filling and tasty continental breakfast. Our room was very comfortable with all the facilities we required for a three night stay.

There was an infestation of ants in the room as a result of a particularly rainy morning but this was not a huge problem as the cleaning staff were very willing to spray the area.

We liked the bed, little kitchen, beautiful view and huge terrace. It ŵas so close to the ferry and the townsquare as well as the Supermarket. Free parking on both sides of the street.

A magical stay

We thought the accommodation, the view and the staff were fabulous. Stresa is a lovely small town and Luna Nel Porto the perfect small hotel to enjoy it. We've never come across a more helpful, thoughtful but at the same time professional hotel staff. Our Italian breakfast served on the attractive terrace with a beautiful view will be a memory that will stay with us for a long time. Thanks to everyone for a very special 5 days.

Lovely 4 nights in this hotel

Staff were lovely, very helpful and accommodating. It was great having a kitchenette as we were able to cook some meals. The apartment was huge we had so much room and the view was amazing, it was so peaceful as the hotel is located at the end of the strip, however still very accessible to everything . Highly recommend.

wonderful hotel with beautiful view face to the Maggiore lake and the Borromeo islands

The location is best in Stresa, near to everywhere of the tourist places. The port of ferry is opposite of hotel, the centrum of town is just one minutes to walk. The suite balkan is face to the Maggiore lake. You can see the beautiful Borromeo islands.The receptionists are very friendly and professional. They give useful information for the guests such as Stresa train situation and call local taxis for the guests. The suite room is big and the bed very comfort. Also there is kitchen for the family tourists long stay are useful. The suite is modern design and nice deco. This 3 star hotel is with 5 star quality and high value. I will strong recommend to the friends and other tourists for visiting to Stresa.

Outstanding small hotel right on the lake

Spectacular room in a spectacular location. Loved the large balcony in the lake-view suite with views over the harbor that were always changing. Right at the edge of town so an easy short walk to restaurants and ferries. Breakfast, even the continental breakfast, was varied and excellent. The staff were delightful. Two days was hardly enough--would definitely return. An excellent alternative to the larger hotels on the lake.

The views, the friendly and helpful staff and the accommodations. As it turns out, we only scheduled a one-night stay. What were we thinking? Next time we will stay longer in Stresa and spend countless nights at the Residence La Luna Nel Porto because the area is one of the most picturesque spots I've ever visited.

One element of the Hotel Residence La Luna Nel Porto that some folks might be apprehensive about is that the hotel is one level up from the street. Yes, they have stairs, but they also have elevators. I became concerned about the second-level location when I injured my back three days before arriving. With a walking cane in hand, I maneuvered about the property quickly.

Amazing stay, couldn’t be more perfect. the large room was great for the kids and we had privacy, beautiful view of the lake and perfect location right across from the ferrys and next to all the restaurants, while still being quiet. The owners made sure we had everything we need and more, and we got complimentary drinks and snacks. The rooms were very clean and the beds big and comfortable. Nice varied breakfast. Thank you!
