We didn’t let the negatives spoil our stay.

Breakfast and location good. Room very clean. Pool area very nice.The room maid was lovely.

There was no welcome from the staff or run down on the property when checking in. I found the reception staff very unhelpful. There were no extras in the room and bathroom like free water, tea or coffee making facilities, hard to find a spare power switch to charge phones etc. No compendem in the room, just a note to go to 10 on the tv. Couldn’t get that to work either.

We arrived from a train trip accross the Swiss Alps on the Glacier Express, and after catching regional trans down to St

Great location close to the train station and on the water front of Lake Maggiore. Breakfast was amazing. The place offers some old world charm and the dining room along with staff offer a great step back in time holiday experience.

The room had some issues, but the staff were very helpful in attending to them.

Charming stylish hotel with a warm ambience and an unbeatable location. Get a lakeside view room!

Brilliant location just 8min walk from the town centre of Stresa and to the ferry terminal for island hopping. The hotel itself had beautiful balconies with stunning views of the lake. The staff were exceptional and all so friendly and helpful. The hotel was kept immaculately clean with a lovely pool to relax by which gets the afternoon sun after a day of sightseeing.

Some of the room safes need updating. I needed a key for my safe which I had to carry around as it wasn’t a digital one, so was worried about losing it.

Great location, good hotel, would stay again.

Amazing views! And a balcony! Really great to be one of the old hotels on the lake, and right next to the ferries and a short walk into the town. Very useful to have our car on site too. Great breakfast with super wide choice. The choice of equipment in the gym was very limited and the hotel arranged for my son to use the gym in another hotel which was very helpful. Pool area very lovely and a decent size, could get busy at the end of the day but always chairs and sun loungers spare.

The gym was limited in terms of equipment; they kindly arranged for my son to use the gym in another hotel. The Astoria is a very large hotel and like many of these is being gradually renovated. Our room was a little dated in design (still beautiful!) and not large but that was fine and to be expected as we faced the lake with a balcony.

Would reccommend

The staff were very friendly. The pool was open late which was great as we arrived at 6pm and jumped straight in.

Breakfast was a bit basic, but fine. We had a room in the annex and it was comfortable although again, basic. We only stayed one night but would have happily stayed for longer. Parking was very easy as they have some spaces underground and some spaces in an above ground parking lot at the back of the hotel, which is monitored by cameras.

A lovely conveniently located hotel with an amazing pool

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The pool was amazing, especially in a 30C+ heat. The loungers are handy with an overhead cover for shade (first time I’ve seen these), although we couldn’t figure out how to regulate the height of the lounger. The staff were friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated getting to check in hours before we were meant to. The 12pm check-out is also very convenient. The room was nice. It was good to have the shutters and a balcony. The bed was comfortable. It was clean in our room and overall the hotel. The location was great too.

The air con in the room could have been stronger, it was still quite hot. It was hard to lock our room from the outside, even when the red light flashed, you could still push the door open, so had to slam it shut for it to work. The hotel doesn’t have an iron, which is quite surprising and they charge for ironing items - this should be complimentary given lack of basic items like an iron. I thought the breakfast was quite basic too.

Awesome view and excellent location

The view from the hotel’s lake view rooms, is truly spectacular. The location is perfect for taking the ferry to the Barromeo Islands and for strolling through the charming town of Stresa. The room itself was comfortable and elegant. Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly.

Nice pool. Breakfast was good quality and tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is also very convenient, close to the train station and a short walk from down town.

Very enjoyable stay,once more.

As returning customers,we knew what to expect with regards to location, standard of room and cleanliness. All excellent.Breakfast was more than adequate. Lounge facilities very comfortable and genial bar staff.

We are independent travellers, unfortunately priority is giving to the coach tour visitors in Astoria. As a result, we only booked B & B. The evening meal menu was geared to the package booking. We preferred to visit the restaurants in town in the evening - only a short stroll along the lake side.

Hotel and the staff were very helpful

Aircon not working.managers explanation was a joke.Bar staff, one person,he was more concerned about the hotel closing for winter than keeping his bar stocked properly for the paying customers. Priority was the hotel needs and not the customers, very poor service definitely won't be returning.

Fantastic restaurant, very helpful and warm staff who was kind towards my family, with a baby bambina, and me.

We had a suite, which was not meeting our expectations. Ants in the room, which was not possible to remove completely during our stay, no refund when we made the reception aware of this at check out.

Centrally located, very helpful staff.

The location was perfect. The staff was so helpful. Example: had a staff member take us to the train station because taxis were tied up in a different town. Breakfast was in a large room with a gorgeous view and the food was fine and plentiful.

The bed was uncomfortable The breakfast choice Myself and my Husband have stayed in four star hotels in many different countries over the years. I have to be honest the dining room would look much better with some new pure white table cloths and a fresh new modern decoration. More options of fresh fruit and healthy nut choices and individual yogurts and choice of cooked egg options. In the bedroom the bed was uncomfortable and there should be tea,coffee and free bottled water each day which should be standard with a Four star rated hotel.

The pool area is totally new and really great, also the pool boy there is doing a great job. The internet is working quite well, when you are ones connected. The bellboy‘s and the staff at the reception are very polite and helpful. The location of the hotel was great, a few minutes walk to the city center where a lot of excellent restaurants are located. The hotel bar is very good.

The rooms are a bit outdated but in acceptable conditions (no serious damages). The AC was not really working efficient (quite old as well). The spring mattress in our room was totally rocked, should be changed asap. The quality of the vegetables and fruits at the breakfast are not the best ones, at least not 4star worthy. The staff at the breakfast was inattentive and not polite, we felt not welcome.

It was very good time spent with family in Astoria.

Hotel is very cosy and clean. Brekfast was very delicious with beatifull lake view from the restorane. Pool with jakuzzi was nice and clean.

Pillows were very small and uncomfortable.
