I booked a room with a view and only saw trees. Very thin and shabby towels in bathroom. For some reason the front desk stuff is incapable of calling a taxi at the the time that was requested. Totally mess up.

The building needs refreshment and sound isolation as you can hear and be woken up by neighbouring rooms. Staff should explain the price and forms of paying the parking which is just in front of the hotel even if its not their property.

Nice view, close to everything.

Perfect spot, Nice view to the lake and the island. Really good breakfast. The city with its shops right behind the hotel, the ferry service to the island tours 50 meters from the hotel.

The staff in the breakfast room was classless. Talking and joking among each other, loud and sometimes outright rude. Didn’t suit the level of the hotel at all. Courtesy was missing completely

A lovely stay in a well appointed location

The View was superb. I was only able to book a large room which had a fantastic outlook. The hotel is very well appointed in Stresa to access nearby shops, the lakeside front and ferries to the Islands. The staff were all extremely pleasant and I enjoyed the outlook of the lake from the dining room. This was especially nice since I was travelling alone. Having nearby parking and the swimming pool available was very enjoyable.

I was disappointed not to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. A daily bottle of water would have been very welcome. Some nice toiletries would have been nice. There was however a little bar of soap and just shampoo.

Lovely hotel in perfect location!

We had a very large, very well appointed room with a lovely view of the lake and luxurious furnishings. The bathroom was also large with great fixtures and ample toiletries. Staff was extremely helpful when we asked for information or requested a taxi. Our room came with a very generous breakfast with a large variety of bread, cheese, meat, fruit and yogurt options and the usual breakfast drinks. Our stay could not have been better.

There was one issue with hot water (none) on one morning, however this was quickly dealt with. It did not occur again, so we felt that hotel handled it well.

Good place to stay in Stresa

Right in the centre of town overlooking the lake, near the embarkation for the boats, parking easy to find and use, huge room with all the necessary facilities that worked, a good choice of hotel in Stresa.

Noise seems to travel between floors so I was immediately above the bar and lots of chair/table scraping noises when they were clearing up at about 11.00 and the toddler running about in the room above mine late in the evening when I was trying to get to sleep was very irritating. Would avoid the 1st floor in future, although that would not help with the toddler.

There are two hotels side by side: Hotel Milan and Hotel Speranza, run as a singe hotel. The hotels have a lot of 60s/70s charm! Breathtaking views from the balcony. Room was spacious. There's Free parking at nearby Hotel Regina Palace.

Lovely hotel, with helpful staff. Perfecto.

The staff went beyond expectations to help with my requests, especially Lucia and the two other reception staff (sorry I forget their names, one was possibly Andrea). Even though they could not get our rooms next to each other, they chose the best room options for us and we were very happy with the rooms. They were super efficient and super friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was very good, and the location of the hotel is lovely.

Exceptional

Right on the lakefront, next to the public boats to visit the islands and at the beginning of the old town: the perfect location. Free parking nearby is a great bonus, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast plentiful.

Pleasant

In fact, there are two sister hotels, through Booking.com you are booking at Speranza Au Lac, not Milan Au Lac (which is more luxury). Location is perfect and having our room facing the lake was amazing! The views from the lake view rooms are gorgeous. It was great that the hotel offers free parking at the nearby location (and its covered!), you have to walk there few blocks but it was not a problem for us.

When you check in, the reception tries to give out rooms on the worst 6th floor first. 6th floor is under the roof that heats up like crazy and their poor AC cannot make it bearable even if it works the whole day. We could not sleep the first night so asked to change rooms the next day. We were not the only ones doing so. Also the elevator goes up only to 5th floor, you need to take stairs from there. If they give you 6th floor, ask for a lower floor when it's hot. Additionally, our room on 6th floor had awful smell from the toilet, we had to keep the lid closed at all times as well as the toilet door to minimize the smell in the bed area. Fortunately, we moved to the other room next day. The toilet in our room on 2nd floor was better but still the sewage smell was present. AC in rooms is turned off centrally on schedule, the reception told us. They turn it off at 9am and put back on at 6pm. If you need it during that time, you have to go down and ask for it to be turned on. The breakfast was really just okay. And the bed and pillows were not really comfortable. In general, the hotel felt more like a 3-star probably.

The hotel, the staff, senior management and the way they behaved when we were informing them about our unsatisfactory about the hotel room and the service. We will think twice before we book through your website in future because the hotel staff said it's a mistake that booking.com has made as they have entered the wrong pictures of the hotel. Hotel has given the proper pictures to publish in your Website.

I book two nights and in the first room I got the AC did not cool. I told the reception but they insisted it did, so I had to spend a night in a very hot room. Next day I asked for a new room and got it on 3th floor. The other room was on 6th floor. When I paid for the stay, I asked for a reduction I price for the first night but did not get it. The managers explanation was that 6 th floor was warm because the heat was rising not because the AC wasn’t working. If you believe the manager don’t book 6th floor on warm days.

The balcony and the view over the lake. The location was ideal. The breakfast next door, in the Milan, was very good.

We booked a double room with a lake view. We did get the view, but not the large double bed that we were supposed to have. Only twins beds, made up as twin beds and pushed together. The breakfast room in the Sperenza is not as good as the one in the Milan. It has a much better view, you can watch the world go past.
