We picked the hotel because of price for Stressa and location and neither disappointed.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and for Europe was a regular continental breakfast.

I use a mobility aid and getting in and out of the entrance was problematic.

I wouldn’t come back

Very well located and friendly staff during the breakfast

An overpriced room facing the inside of the building, very dark. It smelled like food from that space if I had to open the window. Was refused to have it changed. Poor sound isolation in the room too.

Great stay

Excellent location with several restaurants nearby and across the street from the ferry terminal. Excellent breakfast and the staff was really nice. Room full of light (3 windows) with balcony facing the lake.

Great location and our room had a balcony overlooking the lake. We spent a lot of time out there. as the room was pretty small but adequate.Breakfast was great and the breakfast waitress was very good and friendly.

Shower didn’t drain well and a couple of the staff were less friendly than I hoped. When I informed the fellow at the front desk (I think he was an owner) that there was a crack in the glass door to the shower he in a less than friendly manner seemed to be blaming me for the problem. He was never real welcoming over the two days we were there. I told him I just noticed it the evening before. The shower door was hard to slide close. Just a little thing that was unfriendly. I had not cracked the shower door.

We had a great time and enjoyed being in an individual hotel that is not part of a chain.

It was a very good location. Lakeside view and adjoining the old streets of the town. The staff spoke English and we heard Marta speaking French. They were kind, helpful and attentive and friendly. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices. The whole hotel was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Shower worked well. Sound proofed from outside and inside. Air conditioning. Ferries dock across the road.

My owful stay at hotel italy et suisse in stresa

WiFi was very good.

The hotel is extremely old, the staff are not nice, they close the hotel at 1am till 7:30 in the morning!!! We almost missed the "deadline" and could stay the whole night outside. Breakfast is extremely poor. The coffee is the ugliest I have ever tasted (and my demand is quite low as for coffee). No fresh fruits, no vegetables, everything was very modest. The rooms look like they haven't changed at all since the 80s. Very old and low maintained furniture. The bathroom has no closed shower but only an old but clean bathtub. The worst thing was the elevator.. we stayed at floor 2, and the only way to get there was to go by the elevator to floor 1 and from there, walk across the hallway, and go up the stairs to floor 2!!!!! That's was extremely annoying, especially with heavy suitcases. The location is great, and WiFi is good, but these are the only good things I can say about this hotel.

Basic accommodation in an excellent spot

The location was amazing. View excellent. Clean.

Linen & property decor is dated . No coffee/ tea facilities in room. No fridge. No special treats - slippers. It was a chilly week end and I asked to put to heater on and / or was there a reversible air con to heat the room and they said not at this time of the year, which was odd as I was at another hotel and there was no problem there with heating . No warm breakfast only continental . No intro on arrival - you just figured it out by asking .

It is quite noisy, the street noise is very loud and between rooms, so you will need earplugs. But the noise doesn’t go late at night and the location really cancels out that as a negative

For our group of myself and my sister in our sixties and my father who is 91 it was ideal.

The Location of this hotel is perfect in terms of being central in Stressa ,close to the town for restaurants and shops and evening entertainment and perfect for the ferries. The breakfast was good.

Terrible stay

The location is excellent. The room was clean and spacious enough.

The hotel closes at 1am, no leaving or entering after that. This was not mentioned at all on booking.com. You are literally locked up. Some nights the door was already locked at midnight, without prior notice. Luckily we were inside (wanted to go for a quick walk), otherwise we would have had no way to enter. The owner is extremely rude, made us feel unwelcome from the start. The beds have an uncomfortable plastic cover. There's a lot of noise in the morning, even with earplugs impossible to sleep through. Breakfast runs until 10am, and you're not even allowed to finish your tea after that. The coffee is very bad.
