We loved our stay in Stresa!

What a quirky fun little hotel in beautiful Stresa! The hosts were great and we loved all of the fun little touches (gnomes and antiques) around the place. The included continental type breakfast (yogurt, pastries, croissants, cheese and fruit) was quite good starting with amazing espresso (or whatever you desire) from their fancy coffee machine. The rooms are more basic but comfortable. Other than sleeping, we spent very little time in the room since there is so much to see and do in Stresa. The scenery is just breathtaking.

The hotel is in a great location very central and close to lakeside. Hotel & room clean.

Room very basic, quite small (I had single room), no kettle/hairdryer. Breakfast was quite disappointing, not a lot of choice & not very inspiring, just 2 choices of fresh fruit & day 1 no freshly baked bread rolls. Staff were not particularly friendly & it was not the hotel experience I was anticipating from reading previous reviews.

A warm welcome, excellent location in a beautiful town.

Federico was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. He gave us invaluable local information about places to visit and the best way to travel. The hotel is situated in an excellent location, central and convenient for shops, buses and the ferry terminal. The rooms are very good value for money. Breakfast was varied and the fresh fruit was delicious!

It was the perfect location! Perfect spot close to the town square with all the shopping and restaurants AND right across the street from the ferry station. The owner is friendly and super accommodating. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Superb location and great value for money

The hotel - which has an excellent location in the old town but close to the lake front - is housed in a charming old building and has on display plenty of old antiques collected by the family. The welcome and service during the stay from the owner (Fred) was particularly special. The continental breakfast was lovely. The room was basic (which I had anticipated from the pictures and reviews) but fairly priced. The description was fair and accurate. The hotel represents very good value for money in my opinion and that's all I can ever hope for.

We spent a week at the hotel and were very pleased we chose Hotel Saini.

Location being close to lake ferry terminal, bars and restaurants in the old town. There is a lift to all floors. It is also close to the Tourist Information office. Room quiet and comfortable bed. Wifi reception was good in our room on the third floor. Breakfast was good and Frederico very attentive to one’s needs. He was very helpful with advice on places to visit and boat tickets for the small boats to the islands. He also helped us to book the bus to Malpensa airport which leaves just yards from the hotel. Prior to our arrival he had helped us with information on train from Milan to Stresa.

As a three star hotel there was nothing to complain about.

The hotel is in a great location, central to restaurants and shopping as well as the ferry terminal. Our room was comfortable and catered for our needs well and had plenty of natural light available. The continental breakfast provided each day was excellent, and added further value for money to our stay.

Great central location, this boutique hotel was just renovated. The room was very comfortable, and staff was very friendly and helpful, suggested places to visit and how to get to Malpensa Airport (there's a direct bus). Hope to visit again soon!

I liked the location of the hotel near the lake. The person in charge of the hotel and his son are very kind, always smiling, and always rushing to serve. I also liked that there is a bidet in the toilet for washing.

Most disrespectful employee at check-in I have ever seen

This is an affordable hotel, yet close to everything in Stresa (ferry services on the lake and center of town)

I had the worst experience ever with the employee at the reception. Following some travel delays I checked in at 11:00 pm. The door was closed and I rang the bell. I was received by the most disrespectful employee I have ever seen at the front desk of a hotel (and I count by thousands my hotel stays). I must have woken him up, but still... There was no indication whatsoever in the reservation that there was not 24 hour check-in. While I was still at the door with my carry-on in hand, he blurted out that they were not expecting me anymore, and that I was required that I called to announce my "late" arrival (again, I doubled checked the reservation and there was not an indication). Without waiting for my response, he said that if it was the first time I've ever been in a hotel, not knowing those things. I had very early travel the following morning, with a taxi driver waiting before 6:00 am. I was so troubled by the reception that I failed to communicate my check-out plans. After the experience the night before, I did not dare to ring the bell and wake up the guy again. Since pre-payment was indicated in the booking reservation, I left quietly, as payment had been settled. I was getting to the main street to catch my ride, when I see the guy running after me, and criticizing my attitude. From previous reviews, this seems a nice family-run hotel, with caring and helpful owners. This employee (heavy-built, covered in tattoos, Northern European accent) definitely does a disservice to their business.

Great location, super helpful staff

First of all, thank you to Federico and his family for making our short stay in Stresa so easy and pleasant. This hotel has everything you need in a hotel: central location, super helpful staff, clean and comfortable room with a good shower, and an ample breakfast. I see some people have complained about a lack of aircon but there are perfectly adequate fans in the rooms. I can't fault the place. Has to be a 10/10.

Friendly staff, especially Ludovico. Close to restaurants, ferry station and sights. Federico and family always willing to make you feel comfortable.

Rooms facing the street can be noisy at night and early in the morning but not the fault of the hotel owners.

Bed was comfy and nice crisp clean linens Clean fresh towels Whole place was very clean Bottle of water in the room You could let them know night before if you wanted breakfast- i didn't have as so many places around Small bar had a great range of drinks Excellent location- 10 min walk from the train station and seconds to shops, restaurants and the Lake. No hairdryer in the room but they tell you to ask - which i did and it was a proper hairdryer

It was very convenient as it's just 4 mins away on foot from the boat station. It's also very much in the center, with all the restaurants and ice-cream stores around - the owner has some great advices on this. Otherwise the hotel is simple, I had a single room which was large enough for me, including a quite big bathroom and a little balcony with a little lake view! The hotel seemed run by a family and everyone was very kind and available for questions at all times.

We stayed 4 nights at Saint hostel, and we really appreciated our stay.

The bedroom was really spacious, as the bathroom was. Very clean, cosy, old fashion but really well decorated. The breakfast was good with home-made little breads :) The hostel director was very nice, always available when needed. We received a very warm welcome !

Good option for a stay on a budget

Very good choice for a short stay on a budget. The owners are very kind, always with a smile put on, and give very good tips on the surroundings. Very spacious bathroom.

The triple we were assigned had a window that couldn't be opened, and the space in the room wasn't really enough for a comfortable stay.
