Lovely 4 day stay. We stayed in a lake view dual aspect room that was recently decorated and had an extremely comfortable, large bed. Great shower in a newly refurbished bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was efficient. Good choice of fresh food at breakfast. Approximately a 15 minute walk to the main part of Stresa where the ferry port is situated. The view from our room was beautiful and we would stay again.

Really lovely family hotel set just back from the main promenade in Stresa. Beautiful gardens and a really well kept and well run hotel. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. The pool area is secluded and very well managed. Our room was perfect, with a large terrace that had views of the lake and was bathed in sunshine for most of the day. Perfect!

Nice mid-range hôtel. Close to Carciano lido to get to the islands. Room was clean and bed was great. Staff at frontdesk was not super friendly, but other staff persons were really welcoming. Breakfast was very nice (fruits, excellent capuccino, and great deal of breads, cornetto, pancakes)

LaFontana is the perfect place to both relax and explore the beauty of Lake Maggiore. The accommodations are spotless, the breakfast is outstanding and the staff is friendly and helpful. As soon as you leave, you will be ready to return!

Construction noise from the house being built between the lake and this hotel, when that house is done, rest of the limited view of the lake is gone, at least from the room we stayed at. We could never figure what the noise from the walls was all night long (loud clicking type of sound, probably plumbing), but we slept very little during our one night there. Only stay during our one week vacation that I would not recommend.

Good location. The hotel is clean and bright. Breakfast is good and COVID procedures well managed and delivered. We booked a room with a balcony and lake view. This was in the roof and with hindsight we would have been better off with a normal room with a lake view. Bathrooms are very old but I understand that there are plans to upgrade them over the winter. Overall we enjoyed our stay but the hotel was a bit overpriced for the room we had.

Very good location and the best customer service I have experienced at any hotel in Europe. David and Elena go the extra mile to make sure that questions are answered and things are taken care of. The quality and variety of the food at breakfast was great. Easy walk to the center of town and the boat dock along with quick access to the cable car up the mountain. Would definitely stay there again

Our stay at La Fontina was very nice! The hotel is a small boutique hotel. The staff was friendly & helpful. The location was great right along the lake. Next to many restaurants within a one minute walk. The beds were Very comfortable! I have a bad back & slept wonderfully! I’d definitely recommend this hotel. The only negative was the breakfast was 20 Euros for a buffet European style breakfast. Although it was more complete then others, that’s still a bit over the top.....

Best customer service. The owner of the hotel is kind and gentle. Good breakfast. Good location. It is between train station and the center. Also good view - facing Lake Maggiore and quiet. This is the third time I have stayed in this hotel and are still satisfied with the customer service as well as the location. However I have noticed that the condition of hotel got older and may need refurbished. The toiletries provided in bathroom is less than in the past. In the past there was kettle, coffee and tea provided in the room and now no more.

Stressa is a beautiful place to stay with lots to do. Hotel was convenient, great breakfast and friendly host. Room had a large balcony with lovely views, bathroom a little cramped for my very tall husband and decor starting to age. We had wonderful weather and enjoyed the food and sights.

We stayed at La Fontana for a week of repose and that is just what we got. Giuseppe and staff were a great hosts. You could not want a better place to stay. La Fontana is near the center of town. The surroundings are beautiful. We ate more than once at the Rosa dei Venti recommended to us by Giuseppe. The cuisine was of the locality and the flavors were great. In all we enjoyed 7 relaxed days.

This was a lovely hotel in a good, quiet location, just five minutes walk from the centre of Stresa. Great service, a spacious room with a balcony with a lovely, albeit restricted view of the lake. The owner was incredibly grateful for me choosing his hotel which was really nice - it's not often you get thanked sincerely multiple times for choosing to stay at a hotel! The continental breakfast was great and had lots to choose from. The hotel had wifi although it wasn't very fast it was good enough for checking emails etc. would happily recommend and stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location, just past all the "grand" hotels on the lake. The owner is so warm and gracious and accommodating - we really felt like we were VIPs. We had a beautiful view of the lake from our room, which was a pleasant surprise. The room was very comfortable, WiFi worked well. The breakfast area was quite grand and beautifully furnished, with huge windows with a great view, and the breakfast was excellent. The owner provided a recommendation for an excellent restaurant in town that we could walk to. I would definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity to come back to the area.
