Classic Maggiore Hotel

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and you could tell that they were all getting on very well with each other. It all made for a very pleasant stay. Apparently we were the last guests of the season to check out, and so they gave us a free bottle of wine!

Nice stay for a weekend

- Location is very good: the Hotel is conveniently located just outside Stresa, 500 mt from Carciano ferry stop, perfect if you want to visit the islands. Also, just 20’ walking from Stresa city centre, which you can reach through a very nice lakeside promenade. - Room was ok: spacious but had a few comments on cleaning and it was a bit noisy due to the fact that it was communicating with another room through an internal door; we could hear sneezing on the other side. On the other hand, despite being a bit on the street, traffic noise was not an issue (basically no traffic at night). Mattress (two single beds attached to create a kingsize bed) a bit knobby but on the whole ok. Nice balcony with table and chairs! - Staff was very welcoming and happy to help for any issues. - Breakfast was 10 out of 10 and by far the best thing: plenty of choice, everything was very fresh and freshly cooked; loved the possibility to make fresh orange juice instead of having the bottled juices.

- Room was spacious but not super clean in some areas: our fridge was leaking and we had to put a towel; the glass on the sink for toothbrush and toothpaste had some dead insects at the bottom; however, everything was fixed the morning after and we did not have issues afterwards. - Worst thing was unfortunately having a room communicating with another one through an internal closed door. We could literally hear EVERYTHING, from sneezing to phone ringing. Also, our neighbours were part of a group with totally different sleep/wake up time; hence, I am unfortunately sure we did bother them when we went sleeping later at night, as they did wake us up early in the morning when they left. This honestly annoyed us as you usually want to sleep nicely for > €180/night. Breakfast dis definitely improve our mood in the morning!

Not as good as hoped

The breakfast was excellent The staff were all excellent and extremely helpful.

The rooms were tired and we had a funny smell. The hot water only was available in the mornings, at all other times it was either cold or lukewarm warm. The beds were a little lumpy and could do with turning end on end. At over £200 a night this was not good value. We were a 1.5 miles out of the centre and restaurants.

Busy family holiday exploring Stresa, Borromean Islands and other town along the lake.

Lovely hotel and quiet location. Clean rooms and when asked they let me borrow a kettle. Property was 1.5km from the main town centre but there was a lovely promenade walk to get there. Breakfast was amazing with a good selection of fruit, cakes, cereal, meats and cheese and hot food. Swimming pool was clean and fully functional with enough sunbeds. Staff were always very friendly and helpful.

Fabulous stay for summer break

A week at Hotel Flora was a great holiday experience for us. The room was spacious, very clean, with enough power outlets and speedy internet. Fantastic view from the balcony, huge bathroom. Special thank you to the staff of the hotel, both reception, restaurant and cleaning lady, they did a great job with a smile, and we always felt welcome. Fabulous breakfast, with great variety of food choices for everyone. Attentive and helping personeel at the breakfast. Parking area with free parking was a great addition to the stay. Proximity to the lake, and the city center just 20 min walk. Exceptional facilities for people with disabilities - we stayed in the room fully equipped for stay of such guests, and the infrastructure of the room and the bathroom, and , the view from the balcony was top class. Pool area which belongs to the hotel was also well maintained, clean, and free to use for guests of the hotel.

Nothing related to the hotel. I wish there was a "do not disturb/ clean my room" paper indicator available to be used for the guests, which would neglect confusion for cleaning in the morning. Some guests like to sleep in more on vacation, and this would help them not to wake up from cleaning services when not needed.

Great hotel. Lovely staff.

Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating - we were there for a wedding for 5 days so we needed a lot of taxis and they arranged all of it for us. The bed is super comfortable. The room's a little dated but that seems to be the same in most hotels in the area at this price point. We had two balconies with great views. The breakfast options are great. The pool and pool area was impeccably clean. I dont know if we came on a quiet week but we had the pool to ourselves most days. Our room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels and bed linen. We didn't use the restaurant during out stay but the upstairs bar area was clean and modern. We'd definitely stay here again. There's a small shop within a minutes walk from the hotel which was handy.

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk into town, we knew this though before we stayed and its an easy walk with fantastic views so we didn't mind at all.

A Perfect Getaway: Great Breakfast & Birthday Surprise

We had a perfect stay at this hotel – absolutely no complaints. The room was clean, comfortable, and everything was well organized. Breakfast was everything you could ask for – fresh, varied, and delicious. As a birthday surprise, the team arranged a beautiful cake and a bottle of Sekt in our room – such a thoughtful gesture! It truly made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!

An absolute gem of a hotel highly recommend

Everything!, the position, how clean it was, the staff being super helpful and professional, the breakfast was the most extensive we’ve had for a long time with everything from champagne to hot savory to pastries, the meal we had at night was beautifully cooked and presented, we really couldn’t understand why it isn’t a 4 star at least if not higher, would definitely recommend and if we ever pass this way again would stay here

A lovely stay in a warm and friendly hotel with a great location for catching boats to the islands.

Loved the view from our balcony and the breakfasts were wonderful.

Our room was located to the side of the hotel with a south westerly view across Lake Maggiore, absolutely stunning. The breakfast was continental style with a wide selection to choose from and to suit every taste - I loved it. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel is around a 20 minute walk from Stresa town centre however it was a pleasure to walk to take in the views of the lake all the way in.
