Near to the port and walking distance to the promenade and to city center

Beautiful view of the lake from the room and the rooftop. Comfortable private uncovered parking. Allowed to park the car for two hours on the day of check-out. Good room size.

There was not a kettle in the room. There were a small shower gel tube and a shampoo tube for 2 persons.

Perfect stay in a wonderful place

Fantastic hotel, beautiful location close to lake, ferry, village and walking paths. Staff are special, friendly, helpful and professional. Lovely lounges, gardens and restaurant. Our room was excellent with a view of the lake from our balcony.

Very clean and friendly staffed hotel, limited vege restaurant options

Very clean and well maintained hotel undergoing refurbishment, modern bathroom and room including AC which was vital with the 30+DegC temps we had during August. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location to walk into Stresa and get ferries across the lake, on site parking included. Nice bar area

Guests predominantly German/Dutch and French with the routine towels on sunbeds at dawn and lots of smoking. Main restaurant only had omlette as a vegetarian option and this never changed so we only ate once in the hotel restaurant choosing to eat in local Stresa restaurants for majority of our stay, if more vegetarian options were available we would have eaten in the restaurant, and frequented the lovely bar area more frequently. Pool area was crowded and small,

Old school hotel with a great view and kind staff

It is a nice old school hotel with the view of the lake, Isola Bella and Isola del Pescatori. It has a nice rooftop terrace, which regretfully was not properly used during our stay. The restaurant staff was very kind during breakfast.

It is on the expensive side, but affordable given it serves decent breakfast .

Very comfortable room, spotlessly clean and pleasant balcony. Amazing shower. Very useful to have a small fridge as the weather was hot. Excellent breakfast and a good restaurant for the evening meal. Staff were always helpful and charming. Really enjoyed the apéros on the terrace; barman was friendly and attentive.

The location. Quiet out of town spot with a lovely 30min walk into town. Has a pool and good breakfast.

Wasn’t keen on the dinners in the evening. Thought they were a bit pricey for what you got. The food in general in Stresa is a bit touristy. No lovely home cooked traditional food of old Italy. We had the pasta amatriciana, I could have made better myself. Sauce not cooked long and slow to enrich the flavours. No Parmesan offered either. 😔

Beautiful property where you are treated like “royal” guests.

The staff and owners family took absolute care of us. The hotel is absolutely filled with beautiful art and this was such a treat to spend time and wonder the property.

Cleaning staff was excellent. Breakfast was nice.

Beautifully decorated, clean older hotel. Our room was on the fourth floor and overlooked the Lake and Isola Bella. The balcony was large, comfortable and private. Lovely hotel. The location provides great views, but it is a 20 minute walk into the town of Stresa. That is fine for most, but if you have any walking restrictions it is a little difficult. The walk along the lake is beautiful though and you can catch a ferry at end of the road. Very close. So for most I would say location is very good.

Most was great. Staff was nice, but would have liked more information from front desk about the area and how to get around on bus, etc.

Very comfortable hotel, great staff, parking was always available, and the food in the restaurant was of a consistently good standard.

The bed was just a little too hard (but that’s a personal preference), but it was still comfortable nonetheless.

We immensely enjoyed our stay in this relaxing, beautiful old hotel.

The location is nice, close to a boat stop and the panoramic walk along the lake. It’s about a 20 minute walk to downtown Stresa but a more tranquil location.

The rooms were a bit warm for our tastes. But probably we just didn’t know how to use the thermostat.

Lovely hotel close to ferry

Lovely hotel only a short walk to the ferry service on Lake Maggiore. We were impressed that we were immediately upgraded to a new room when our air conditioning was not working in our first room. Excellent customer service and friendly staff from the front desk through to the auxiliary staff. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent customer service from every employee encountered and would definitely return!!

The front desk staff were exceptional. I counted at least 4 languages spoken with ease. The one young blonde front desk lady was very good at answering questions and explaining the advantages of the region. Every staff member encountered were polite with strong customer service skills - from front desk to dining room to housekeeping to maintenance. The Maître d’ was very accommodating to guests yet the dining room was run with precision. The room had an outstanding view of the lake and the mountains. What a pleasure it was to wake up to that every morning. The breakfast was varied from hot to cold fare and every guest I saw left with smiles on their faces. The test of any hotel is if guests would want to return. This guest definitely would!!

Excellent accommodations in beautiful Stresa

The hotel is very lovely, all details are well thought through. The location was very good for us too, very close to the boats, and we also enjoyed a 15 minutes walk to the center of the Stresa along the lake too. Beautiful. I liked the breakfast area, beautiful garden, pool, bar area on the balcony, excellent views from the roof, very friendly and attentive staff. I would say it is a good find, we enjoyed staying in the hotel Royal very much! Thank you!

Amazing stay in a lovely hotel in a wonderful location

Breakfast included was lovely. Plenty on offer and good quality. Location is perfect for visiting the Borromean Islands, and a 20 min walk from the main town, where there are plenty of great shops and eateries. View from our room was amazing, we had a balcony over looking the lake

Tea making facilities in the room would have been nice, but this seems to be something they don't do in Europe??

Our stay at the hotel was the most relaxing part of our month vacation.

We stayed 5 nights at Hotel Royal. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The staff couldn’t be nicer. We ate dinner there 4 nights. The food was great and a very good value. Breakfast was included and was also delicious. The wait staff are dressed in suits bow ties. We felt like we stepped back in time.
