It's a beautiful building in an amazing location, full of charm and character. Peter, the manager, was excellent in his attention to detail - he was the perfect host who really looked after us from beginning ,when he greeted us warmly at the front door, to end. We were very comfortable in our lovely spacious room which was spotlessly clean. We dined in on our first night and enjoyed a perfect three course meal in an elegant dining room where our first class and plentiful breakfast was served each morning. The hotel is stylishly decorated and furnished with antiques and paintings which enhance the warm, homely feel you get when you stay here. It is also good value for money. I thoroughly recommend the Seawood House.
There was nothing to dislike.

This was the best hotel we have stayed in, the layout and decor was like staying in National Trust property, the host could not do enough for us and the food was incredible. The view was stunning from our room and although was very quiet outside was only short walk to the cliff railway and shops in Lynton.
Only negatives would be the narrow access roads (but this is to be expected in Devon coast), and evening food not available on Sunday in hotel, fortunately only 5 minute walk to restaurants in Lynton.

Great location with easy access to the town. Nice views across the Bristol Channel. The bed was large and very comfortable. Very friendly staff.
Nothing. It was ideal.

Beautiful location. Well placed for exploring the town and convenient for the cliff railway. Wonderful sea views. Good breakfast and friendly staff.
Our room was a little on the small side for a stay of more than one night.

The hosts were amazing, the rooms were great and had good wifi signal. The breakfast was solid and we loved the bar/drinks availability options.

Location and views are excellent
Hotel just need a little maintenance, gutter above entrance leaking on visitors, bath side panel shabby, stair spindles broken

The location of the hotel was ideal. Outstanding views from the bedroom and a comfortable bed. An excellent breakfast was also served.
A few pieces of wallpaper needed to be stuck down and a bulb missing in the bathroom mirror, but that did not stop us enjoying our stay.

It's location is very quiet and wonderful.
Staff were professional and cared about your experience.
We absolutely loved the place.
Oh and having the tourist hill train at the end of a garden path running from 10am down to the seafront was a nice bonus.
To answer a what didn't you like question on booking. Com... A slight problem with Parking can be a little tight, but "ask" the staff and the problem gets solved. They are brilliant.

Perfect location very close to the cliff railway with lovely views. Great walks out directly from the hotel; we left the car parked in the car park for the whole of our stay. Food was very good, we had dinner on the first evening which was excellent as was the cooked breakfast.

That it was out of the way in a nice and quiet area. It's a small hotel so not lots of guests. They accommodate for dogs. Food was great, breakfast and dinner. Rooms nicely decorated and was well equipped. Staff friendly and helpful.

Absolutely wonderful place for a solo trip, the hotel is comfortable & the owners really warm & welcoming. The views all around are absolutely stunning. Great place to go, rest & recharge
The only tiny thing was the mugs, lots of dinky cups & saucers would have been nice to have a proper mug but honestly I am nitpicking!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is is located on a spectacular spot and the views are amazing. Our family room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The hotel is also very quiet, which is what we like and it's very easy to get in and out of the area from the hotel to visit other parts of North Devon.
The car parking can be a bit challenging if other drivers do not park their cars properly. Marking the car parking spaces with lines will perhaps force other drivers to park properly.

Tasty breakfast, with choices. Great 2-way view from room and firm, comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Slightly longer breakfast hours - but do understand that they were a member of staff down.

The hospitality was excellent, nice staff and a beautiful location with spectacular views. Very nice breakfast freshly prepared. Well worth a stay, quiet and relaxing.
A shame the restaurant was closed but with good reasons and understandable but we were near other nice restaurants.

Spectacular coastal location on the SW path and a short walk to the beautiful Valley of the Rocks - and adjacent to the Funicular railway down to Lynmouth. Very welcoming, attentive and helpful host. We chose the Watersmeet Suite with its exceptional views down to Lynmouth bay and Countisbury Hill with the benefit of a living room space. On the days when dinner is not on offer at Seawood, there are very good alternative restaurants close by on Lynton. No problem for parking on either of the two days we stayed at the accommodation. Beautiful display of flowers on display around the hotel
Very little! The second floor steps up to our suite were quite steep. The approach road is narrow in places, so helps to have a smaller car!

Warmly welcomed and made to feel completely at home. The location is stunning with the Terrace overlooking the sea. Food is good, well stocked honesty bar and a hot tub to relax in. Gorgeous walks from the hotel. We didn't use the car in our 3 day stay.
Just be aware that if you want Dinner, you need to pre-order. There are loads of good places to eat within 5 minute walk via the private footpath to Lynton.

The location was spectacular with views directly over the sea, and a gateway and path just next to the funicular railway giving easy access to Lynton and Lynmouth.
Even though we arrived late, we were given a very warm welcome from Peter. Throughout our stay, he provided attentive service without being intrusive.
Our suite was beautiful with amazing views over the sea from one window and looking out towards the funicular railway from another. The bed was very comfortable too.
Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice of cereals, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts and cooked options with good quality produce.
Also worth staying in for an evening meal - ours was delicious, and reasonably priced.
There wasn’t anything not to like!

I would highly recommend this hotel, which is within walking distance of both the Valley of Rocks and Watersmeet. The location is absolutely beautiful, with beautiful countryside and coastal views on the doorstep. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and we had a wonderful welcome from Peter, who works extremely hard to ensure visitors have a relaxing time, with everything they need. We will definitely be returning next year. Thank you again.
Nothing at all! It's wonderful 😊

This is a fantastic property, quiet and peaceful but close to all the amenities. This is the perfect antidote to ‘cookie cutter’ hotels. It feels special, a little quirky.
The heartbeat of this hotel is the manager Peter, who strikes the perfect balance of attentiveness but giving guests the space to enjoy.
The breakfasts were very good and cooked to order- well done the Chef.
We would definitely stay here again.
There was nothing not to like- I can usually find something I don’t like but not in this case.

The Seawood House is a truly beautiful property that is immaculately clean and excellently hosted by Peter at Front of house.
Our bedroom was spacious and had beautiful sea views. The very pretty floral patio area at the front of the hotel is divine to sit and enjoy a drink overlooking the bay. We also had breakfast on the patio which was amazing.
The breakfast was very good and certainly set us up for the day.
The hotel is situated a very short walk away from the town centre, and right next to the historical funicular railway which takes you down to Lynmouth in just a few minutes. It is also ideally located to the start of the stunning Valley of the Rocks coastal walk
We had our dog with us, and we were all made to feel very welcome by Peter and the team at the Seawood House and all of the other very friendly guests.
We loved our stay here and hope to return!
Absolutely nothing. I’d genuinely recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.

Beautiful hotel, stunning views, great food and service. We especially like the hot tub and the honesty bar. Lots to do right on the doorstep.
The car park is very small, but we just about managed to park a Range Rover, but honestly nothing that we didn’t like it was all amazing!

We received a warm personal welcome from Peter, who was gracious and thoughtful throughout our stay to ensure we were looked after.
Beautiful room with lovely decor and wonderful views across the sea.
The entire house was filled with tasteful and interesting antiques with a well appointed drinks cabinet and fridge for our use through honesty log.
Fabulous breakfast with a table overlooking the sea.
Nothing just perfect.

Nothing in my opinion

Lovely hotel with fantastic views. Breakfast was excellent and the room was comfortable and had everything you need. It is a listed building so there is no lift and two flights of stairs to negotiate if you are on the second floor. Peter, the host, is great, very helpful, friendly and informative.

The location was excellent. Beautiful views and very easy to get out on coastal walks. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great and dogs were welcome. We would come back in a heartbeat!
We're vegetarian and found we weren't very well catered for. This applied to the whole area of Lynton/Lynmouth, not specifically just this hotel. I think there was a general misunderstanding or lack of menu planning for vegetarians. I think it was generally forgotten vegetarians don't eat fish and we like some protein content to our meals too, not just vegetables and carbs. Could be a gap in the market you could fill with some tweaks to the menu!
