Dunster Mill House

The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice which sets you up for the day. The room was exceptionally comfortable with all you need, and was to a very high standard. The location was ideal for a quiet few days away. Access to park the car was limited but it worked out well for us given the times we were in and out of the accommodation. Above all, the hosts were lovely!

I had no issues, even my wife who had not long had a knee replacement managed the stairs to the room quite well. No problem for me. I have no complaints and enjoyed my stay, and will be happy to come again sometime.

Breakfast was excellent. My wife and I are both vegetarians and Karen made sure we had an excellent breakfast. The breakfast room was very pleasant and welcoming.

We had a wonderful welcome at the Millhouse and we were offered tea and delicious cake in the sitting room. Our room was very comfortable and clean with a lovely view of the river path and the hill and woods beyond. The breakfast was delicious,there was a wide choice and you could pick and choose. The walk into the beautiful little village was no distance at all. The character of the mill house and the village was exceptional. But most important of all were our wonderful hosts Karen and Peter, who were kind, informative and just lovely.

It’s old, and located on a quiet, narrow lane, so access is limited. However this is not a fault! Just beware.

A beautiful home set in an idyllic location next to the Watermill in Dunster. Lovely understated decor and a very comfortable bed. Pete and Karen were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They provided fresh milk and chilled water for the room as well as offering tea and cake on arrival. Breakfasts were perfectly cooked and very tasty. And we loved the resident cat!

Car access is a little tricky but Pete and Karen are very helpful and we really didn’t find it a problem.

Breakfast was good with a nice selection. The fruit platter was delicious.

Hosts Karen and Pete are extremely friendly, forthcoming. Their location right under the Dunster Castle and with an unobstructed view over the valley where deer are coming out of the woods in the evening

Limited parking

This is our second time here. Karen and Pete are excellent hosts. Rooms are spotless. The twin room does not have an en-suite bathroom but does have exclusive use of a shower room/toilet just off the landing. Fabulous view from the room and excellent breakfasts. We met some lovely people who were staying there. Thoroughly recommend this place.

Location was good, pretty , quiet, hosts were helpful and friendly. Easy access to Castle and village. Breakfast was excellent, would stay again.

It was a late booking and could only get twin beds. As a married couple would have preferred a double bed but that was our choice.

What a gem! The location couldn’t be better – right in the middle of beautiful Dunster, with everything just a short walk away. The property itself is full of charm and character, with quirky touches that made it feel really special. Breakfast was delicious – fresh, tasty, and clearly made with care. Loved every minute of the stay and would 100% come back. Highly recommended!

Only because the location is so fabulous the pay off is that parking is a little bit fiddly. But all was good.

Perfect place to stay for our short stay in Dunster. Located next to Dunster Mill, a short 10 minute walk into Dunster village and Castle. Friendly greeting from Karen and Pete. Our room was lovely overlooking the countryside. Large, airey, and well appointed, en suite with walk in shower. Tea and coffee and biscuits provided with fresh milk made available in small fridge on the landing for guests, so nice to have this instead of small cartons, and enough room to place any cold drinks you want chilled. Wine glasses as well as tumblers were also placed on the tray. Nice touches such as small torch for use if coming back late, as the lane does not have lighting plus small box with sewing kit etc. Nothing too much trouble. Parking was just up the road in a pay and display car park, we arrived at 4.30, put £2.20 in and that took the time to the following day at 10.15. Breakfast is ordered the evening before, good selection. This accommodation was superb, Karen and Pete were great hosts, highly recommended. Hope to return.

Dunster Mill House is a very charming cottage in immaculate condition. The bedroom looking out over the river was a lovely quiet room. Breakfasts superb! Location well within walking distance to centre of Dunster. Would stay here again without hesitation. Karen & Peter were lovey hosts. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Really there was nothing at all to dislike! We did manage to park in the small car park opposite the cottage on first day. To be honest though, it is easier to park on the *Council Car Park on Park Road* Once parked there, as you are walking out of car park, look out for narrow pathway between some bungalows on righthand side **This is shortcut to the cottage and Mill** turn right at the end of the pathway and just a 5 minute walk you will be at cottage which is great.

Excellent hosts, size of room with excellent storage, breakfast superb, quiet location with excellent views.

Parking can be a problem at busy times of day but don’t let this put you off visiting.
