Would definitely come back again, it was for a short break for my 80th birthday and brought back memories of the past, especially the lift. We will be staying longer next time. The little bit of entertainment in the night was good too.

Very good food but we are basic eaters and would have prefer a little bit more of a basic meal. Breakfast excellent! Couldn't fault anything else.

Staff were pleasant and very accommodating

The room was a little cold when we arrived and I noticed heating was not on However we did have heater in room but was not very effective. Once heating kicked in room very hot which was nice. Windows do have mould in which may need to be addressed

Hotel had a slightly "faded" feel about it. Carpets in the public areas needed a bit of cleaning but the room seemed OK

A great hotel

The location. Near beach and some very good dog walks. The hotel was lovely. Very inviting and homely. The staff were exceptional, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I travelled with dogs, and they were very well catered for and made to feel very welcome by all the staff and guests. The breakfast was excellent and plenty of it. The room was big and airy and well equipped with everything that we needed, and a lovely large bathroom with a very big shower. Overall, everything made it a wonderful weekend, and I will definitely stay there again. A very enjoyable break.

A nice break for a 3 star Hotel.

There was a nice view from our window. Breakfast had a good choice, and the Lunch and Dinner were excellent. The swimming pool was a nice experience.

The lift doors were difficult to operate, especially for the elderly and infirm.

Lovely characterful hotel in a great location.

The hotel is full of character and the team were very friendly and helpful. Room and breakfast were perfect. Great location for visiting Minehead.

There is a shortcut through the grounds to exit the hotel and it would be good to have some lighting along the path.

Northfield, it's a yes from me

Characterful old building. Room and facilities very nice and comfortable. No dressing gowns. Towels, shower gel and hand soap supplied. Tea / coffee in room. My room had a sea view. There is a lounge and bar/ lounge. Clean health suite with equipment, a pool and steam room, not used this visit but had a look. Breakfast offered plenty of choices hot and cold. All the staff I met were polite, friendly and helpful Not far to town center Would definitely stay again

If one has poor mobility a car is required as the hotel is up a steep set of roads.

A comfortable, relaxing stay.

Our room was comfortable and clean but decor was a little tired. Our breakfasts and evening meals were all very good and the hotel staff were very helpful. The leisure facilities of the swimming pool, steam room, jacuzzi and gym were very nice to have and provided good value for money in the overall price. The Northfield Hotel is situated within easy walking distance to Minehead town centre, the beach and the coastal path.

The room was in need of updating a little in its decor.

Huge disappointment

Staff were all friendly and polite. Comfortable bar and lounge area. Nice breakfast, especially continental selection. Lovely garden, if a little unkempt.

Shabby room. Lots of dust and peeling paintwork. Not at all like pictures on website. No extras as shown and listed on website for deluxe room. The only toiletries were a soap dispenser on the wall, and a small bar of wrapped soap. No information folder. Dust, and mould in shower room. Broken tiles, spiders webs in and outside window, which wouldn't shut properly due to grime on brackets. Sea view spoiled by gravel area with dead tree, broken planter, pot of weeds, old umbrella and screwed up blanket, and other discarded items. Nothing deluxe about this room. Having held our wedding reception here 4 years ago, we were looking forward to staying in a de luxe room to celebrate our anniversary. So disappointed!

This hotel offers a charming relaxing ambience and an ideal location

This hotel offered charm friendliness and and a really relaxing ambience with wonderful views and feeling of space. The staff were all amazing.The view from our hotel bedroom was lovely and the gardens outside gave an easy cut through to the town centre.

TV reception in our bedroom was poor, food was really good but a wider option of dessert menu to include a hot choice would be an asset particularly in the winter months., and a hospitality tray included in bedrooms alongside kettle etc. .

Relaxing chilled few days for my husbands birthday

Breakfast was good, except for runny white on fried egg, this was rectified the following morning. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice large comfy room comfy bed, wonderful views over the Bristol channel. Easy to walk into town though lively gardens.

Nothing i didn't like. But some areas could do with a lick of paint.

Comfortable stay

Hotel was very clean. All meals were very good in their preparation, presentation and quality of food. Menu was always varied. The waiting staff were excellent and were a credit to the hotel. Bedroom was a good size and the bed was extremely comfortable.

Bedroom was extremely hot due to being next to the boiler room which radiated heat. Housekeeping was occasionally incomplete, though this was overcome without fuss by reception. Buffet provisions sometimes ran out, and needed to be bought to staff's attention. Lift was occasionally taken over by housekeeping staff and therefore not always available when required.

Loved the location of the hotel, a couple of minutes from the sea front. Hotel was very dog friendly with good gardens to walk them. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable there and would definitely book the same room again.

The overall impression of the hotel was that it was very tatty and needed a good injection of cash. Wallpaper was hanging off the wall in the dining room and everywhere needed a lick of paint. The grounds were also in need of attention. Although breakfast hours were 8 to 9.30, by 9 o'clock there were no cups, and very little pastries......

Food excellent, staff very attentive, friendly and helpful, lounge, bar and dinning area clean. Bed very comfy. Close to everything we needed. Swimming pool and jacuzzi good, lovely and warm, Garden lovely, but seen negative comments.

Swimming area needed maintenance along with the gardens. Bedroom maintenance and cleaning very poor. Plus, we had to keep asking for shower gel and shampoo, water, etc. Each day. We never got the shower gel. Fan broken, window hinge broken. The shower only worked if you turned on hand basin first.

Nice, but there is better out there

Nice location, came with the use of a pool which was nice, staff were friendly and welcoming.

The breakfast frequently ran out of things, I had to ask the man working 4 times for him to get some more pastries. Staff were friendly but not very attentive, having arrived, we had to wonder around the hotel to find someone to check in. The room was nice, dated but nice. The bathroom could do with some updating as elements were past their use by date and there was a great deal of cobwebs everywhere.

The Location was great

It was very dated, the room wasn’t that clean. There wasn’t a bottom sheet/mattress protector on the bed so you could see the mattress! The Breakfast was underwhelming. The swimming pool & facilities weren’t overly clean.

Good location and grounds were nice at the back, spacious room. Would have been very warm but a fan in the room made a big difference.

Dated room, lots of mismatching furniture, old chairs, carpet & curtains. Wouldn’t take much to improve it. Spacious enough though and beds were fine. Nice views too.

Wouldn’t stay here again

In minehead and could get to everything. Dinner at hotel was good and very well priced. Lovely front of house lady with grey bob hair (sorry didn’t get the name) organised the whole show. Without her I don’t think the hotel would function very well! Parking enough for hotel.

Room needed a refresh, cracks, paint, squeaky floors, I struggled to get into the bath for a shower and I’m very active. Swimming pool was small but practical. Jacuzzi and steam room was awful I got out after a minute in each. Changing rooms awful too and door opened up right onto swimming pool! Not many lockers as most broken. Reception said opened at 7.30 to check out but didn’t open until 8 and we needed to leave. Again lady with grey bob offered to open up before she found reception staff to check us out!

Superbly staffed, charming seaside hotel.

Super location in beautiful grounds. Hotel has a lovely atmosphere with echos of former glory. Every member of staff we met were friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome and appreciated. The lounge area on the right of the entrance was a lovely place to relax and the provision of tea, coffee and books an extra bonus! Very much enjoying meeting so many international guests. Very comfortable beds and attentive housekeeping.

Our room felt quite shabby and unloved. The only picture hook had no picture, damaged door surround and paintwork would all be quick fixes that would make me feel more valued as a guest.

Excellent location with a cut thru the garden to avoid the hill walk back up. Garden area was fabulous with plenty of seating available, I would rate this better than a 3 star more of a four.

Not once did we see the bar open or indeed anyone behind it .... not a big drinker but it would be nice to sit on the terrace with a beer on occasions. In our room (14) little easy repairs could have been completed ... drawer handle broken, toilet roll holder very lose and the brackets on the underside of the toilet seat broken in places, very simple repairs.
